@@roberto5red5rocky85 they won the same number of UCLs as Messi did while he was at Barca... but way fewer La Ligas in all those years. That was not the case before he came along.

Most people consider 2012 as the best individual year for Messi in terms of performances. But in my opinion, his performances in the 2018/19 season were even more astounding. He literally carried an average team into the Champions league semifinals. If his teammates hadn't let him down against Liverpool, Barca would have surely won the whole thing. Messi was creating all the chances and scoring a ridiculous amount of goals that season.

Agreed. As a barca fan, to this day, the Liverpool collapse is the one that hurts the most because we were so close to making it to the final and potentially winning it again.

10/11, 11/12, 12/13, 14/15 and 18/19 are definitely his 5 best seasons and the funny thing about it is that he played on a higher level in these season than any other player in the modern era, so the 5 best seasons(in terms of the average performance level when he was on the pitch) in the modern era are all from him. Anyone who thinks Messi is not a leader should just watch this match. He may not lead the way someone like Terry or Kompany would, but he is unmistakably a leader in that team. Barca had no right to even challenge RM this match, they had an awful season and were just barely in the title race. He singlehandedly changed the momentum of the game the moment Marcelo bloodied him.

Every person who says Ronaldo is better needs to watch this and understand why most people say Messi is better. He drops deep to control the game in midfield, is the most dangerous player on the pitch, one of the best defensive midfielders has to constantly resort to tackling him and fouling him to stop him, and yet still finds ways to arrive in the final third through his intelligence to find space to score wondergoals. No one else in the world does that.

That messi winner in that match left my friend and I stunned, we were neutrals in the match but thought before the match Madrid were the favourites. This match is my favourite classico match and was important for messi because if I remember correctly barca and him were not in good recent form especially when your arch rivals were doing well in europe and leading the league and were the best team at that time. Miss those days that was football at its peak for la liga

This was one of the best moments of my life. The best game I ever watched. I remember I came to the city from the resort I was working in. And me and two of my best friends were together high af watching the match. One of them was a Real fan and other one was neutral. But we all knew Messi was the best. At some point we didn’t care about anything, who won or nothing. We just went crazy for the match. And when Messi sealed the deal with that last goal. Man 🤩 Man we had a freaking blast watching it partying and shouting Only one was missing from our group

Courtois vs Liverpool (UCL 2022) - In this you could talk about pre and post shot xG, and how difficult his job was to keep stopping everything in a UCL final

I don't think RM is the GOAT of clubs. Barca was the best team for a decade. Also they were so brutal. Too many fouls. RM wanted to win at any cost. But fouling too often is cheating. Messi is definitely the GOAT. This was one of his most incredible games.

Look at Casemiro, when he did what he did in Real in Man U he got a red card. Man U weren't having it. The refs clearly sided with RM as they allowed this to happen. I don't consider winning at the price of beating up your opponent winning. It's cheating.
