I went back, found that i can get my old account that i had been using since the first season of CR, saw my old lava hound deck, and tried it out. I gave up playing after a few matches.

I didn’t remember the Mega Minion being so strong, so seeing it brought up as a big thing in other videos was a surprise. Cool that you made a video for it that explains it further

mega minion was my favorite card design wise, it just looked so cool, i first saw it in 2016 and still today, its one of my favorite cards due to how reliable it is

I used to hate it when it was released because it felt too strong with giant (I remember the meta being giant poison) and it even could survive a Fire Ball. They nerfed MM after that and since then it feels a pretty balanced card

I miss those good Ole days. Giant pushes. Not just random non skilled random 1 hit hog (who still needs to be 5 elixir) cycles for 6 years straight. nowadays everyone just plays firecracker. Who also needs to be either 4 elixir or die by log. Lastly, atleast during those days. We had draws. Which still I don't understand why they removed a whole deck arch type (draw heavy decks) to please those non skilled players.

​@@blackheart4360 i agree with most of your comment, but hog is decently fair if firecracker would be balances. And draws were not a good thing. When i was actually tryharding i played xbow and either won, or played to a draw. Losses were so rare if you piloted the deck correctly

@blackironwalterkus3851 you can kite with a giant. Also it's 5 elixir. Which is balanced. Hog rider gets a free random hit at start per game for 4. That's not balanced. once tiebreaker became a thing hog rider became worse to see.

I think mega minion should get an evo. I'm thinking when the HP runs out, his armour comes off leaving him with a second form that has low HP but very fast movement and attack speed.

Nah personaly i think it should gain the range of an archer with low health chield make the evo 2 cycle ,keep the other stats the same AND VOILA BALANCED

As a LavaLoon main who very recently came back to the game, I agree! This saved so much of my games, and I really wished I could bring two of this guy in my deck instead of the three arrowable minions. For reference, my deck is: LH Balloon MegaMinion Minions Guards Tombstone Lightning Arrows.

It's always interesting to listen to how any change to a game with troop interactions domino's its way to affecting every other card in the game. I think that the sentiment about the mega minion is just as you described, unhated and balanced. Always look forward to new videos, as they make great background noise for while I'm playing clash royale.

Can you do a video about masteries? To me, it appears like supercell wants us to forget about them. They haven’t added tier 3 masteries to most troops, and in the past year they’ve nerfed rewards, taken away post-game stats and recently taken masteries out of the cards menu. Now the only way to see mastery progress is by the mastery button in the deck builder or in the troop badges, both of which aren’t sortable and thus, difficult to navigate.

Like a lot of ppl here I dont even play CR anymore. Regardless I always anticipate a new vid from Brad or you!

I personally always enjoyed using the Mega Minion, it feels extremely fun to use and acts as a very solid single-target high DPS air card. I'd say at some points in time, it could've been considered the most balanced card in the entire game. Sadly it's overshadowed by many other cards at this point and doesn't see too much use rate (mainly just Little Prince honestly), but I'll always love it!

I am a consistent UC 2000~ medal player (definently not a "Top player") and i think that splashyard is not broken but its annoying cuz of the randomized behaviour of graveyard. Sometimes even if you poison it it will get like 5-6 shots which roughly means 650 damage. Miner and drill is considered to be annoying for the same reason.

Mega Minions is my favorite for how perfectly it does what it’s meant to, while also looking pretty cool. Deserves a buff tho, preferably to a melee instead of its range, especially considering that there’s melee troops (Pekka, Prince) that have longer range. This would at least allow it to work against Monk and Evo Knight

Let me tell you why no one was pushing for a Mega Minion nerf on release: this bugger nerfed the current meta deck back then. Giant + Bowler + Poison was an uncontested deck that pushed through most counters and buildings, with the Poison spell (which at the time slowed troops attack and movement speed) countering any minion cards. It was like a checkmate, Bowler would knock back any small light and medium ground troops, Giant would push through as a weaker Golem, and Poison would remove any buildings and air units on their path. Mega Minion was the perfect counter to this deck, single-handedly pushing through a Poison spell while chipping away the health of a Giant or Bowler. Sure there were other decks that took advantage off the Poison to remove the minimal air units to counterattack with, such as LavaHound and Balloon combo, yet the Mega Minion could withstand the spell while counterattacking with a positive elixir trade. We NEEDED the Mega Minion when it released, like badly, because the Meta at the time exposed the low variation of air troops and the power of the Poison Spell.

Could you do a deep dive on the tesla history? Its very unique for a building. Able to hit both land and air, deals good single target damage, immune to spells if you dont have it targeting a unit, HAS AN EVOLUTION, and last a pretty good amount of time. I personaly hate this card for how good it is on defence, able to deal with all unit cards on its own outside of somthing like barbs.

Could you do dart goblin next. Love your videos keep at it!

when you have plans to go out but Gratz drops another CR video

Rework idea: Make the mega minion have two attacks and split the damage evenly between them. It would make the better at countering swarm and it wouldn't kill itself when against Monk. Maybe make the spit do damage and make the throw a slap. This might help it stand out a bit more and maybe compete with the pheonix a bit more.

A good rework for it could probably have the 2018 stats with a 3.5 Elixir Cost to make it unique. Not enough to yield a Legendary Rarity, though unique enough to be an alternative option for Minions.
