The main reason it's so toxic is if played correctly it counters its own weaknesses. The problem with elixir golem is the fact you have to counter it to get the reward. It's essentially the pigs mixed with a giant for 7 less elixir.

Egolem is a double edged blade, it destroys anything on a very specific deck but trash if you put it somewhere else. That's why it sucks in draft cause it's just giving your opponent free elixir, it only works if you build a deck surrounding the egolem.

Bro I think elixir golem is one of the worst cards in the game, you can defend it with air swarm, ground swarm, mk, valk, mini and normal pekka, buildings. And after you do that, you can spam your opponent with the extra elixir you got.

I guess elixir golem's evolution would be either "You get all the elixir after golem dies, and not your opponent", or it would explode after death and cards that got damage from the explosion would get "elixified" or something. Elixified cards would give elixir to you, just like elixir golem gave elixir to your enemy.

I genuinely believe supercell doesn't know how to play their own game, I mean their promotional video back in 2016 about 2 card combos like mini pekka skarmy was memed on, even in 2016 people thinks the combo is dumb and 2016 was the year where people had no idea how to play the game like how we play the game currently.

that’s crazy i never knew it wasn’t intended to be a golem competitor. clash royale balance team is totally lost

why its such an issue in beatdown decks is because it's so cheap for the hitpoints it has, which allow for far more support troops than say a normal golem (and is LESS vulnerable to infernos to boot). Used well, it allows for pushes that have far more value than they cost, and sure your opponent gets 4 elixic, but that's only AFER downing the golem, and at that point it may already be too late for the tower

I think the reason the elixir golem is considered low skill and hated is because of the splitting mechanic equally distributing the stats of the elixir golem when the regular golem does not. the splitting mechanic is just a roundabout way of saying "kill a building targeting knight 3 times" or "kill a golem, but the golem is 3 elixir"

It's low skill because of how cheap it is, unlike golem, egolem takes sooo long to kill, enough for your opponent to put support troops in the back but since it's already cheap, they can place 12 elixir worth of support and ram over you to 3 crown.

Mega knight is definitely one of these cards, adding a tank with high health and splash damage is a ridiculously hard balancing task

I think a huge part of egolem being low skill is it being at it's best when played at the bridge. No skill required for that. Low skilled players can just as well play it "optimally" as others.

Elixer golem relays on other cards that synergies with golem but golem is a skilled version of it as it is expensive but never gives elixer to the opponent while the elixer golem does which if you mess up it will cause you to lose the game entirely as the elixer you’ve spent left you vulnerable after failing to finish them(that is how you play elixer golem just create a push that is a game killer and finish off your opponent) as you are now going up against their counter push

oh! that would be such a cool evolution, like percentage based decline of elixir gained by the opponent the more it splits and gets destroyed. so it now being similar to the golem would make it be similar to evo skeletos as an evolution, only that youd want to just sometimes protect it, when it is growing.

It's really simple to understand why cards like this are annoying, pretty much suffers the same problem as mega knight and e-giant, it's extremely hard to defend, the opponent needs to play really well to defend It while the guy that is using the card pretty much doesn't need to do anything just place the card, also when being overleved it's just impossible to defend so it makes it even more toxic I don't know why supercell release these kind of cards....

If you look at 3:06, you’ll see that most of these ideas were actually added to the game. “Moving buildings” cannon cart “Support/Aura Troops” battle healer “Troops that return after dying” phoenix “Troop that recovers health overtime” battle healer “Lifesteal troops” evolution bats “Card that blocks spells” monk (technically) Then there’s the idea of an earthquake or haste card. Earthquake got added apparently.
