Hello friends we hope that you are staying cool in this heat. Speaking of heat, we have decided to not cook over a extremely hot fire this week and instead eat a whole basket of freshly picked peaches! Also we're going to take you guys on a field trip to the local pewter shop, ASL Pewter where Ron will try casting some tin soldiers!

If Ron eats too many peaches, the question should be:" How many trips to the outhouse will he make?!" 😂

Hey, Kerri!!! This is Jenny and David from Georgia! It was so nice to meet you at the wedding!
My dad grew a peach tree from a pit when I was a kid. We picked a spot in the back yard and planted the seed as a family! And she actually grew! Just throw a few seeds out yonder. You never know!

@@rosemariemello6675 so sorry, although i have to say thirty years ago was very different then it is today! but don't give up!
When I was a child growing up in Jeff City we had a peach tree. My 6 foot tall father would pick one for little me, and help wash it off with the hose. The peaches were so flavorful and juicy the juice would drip down your chin. The peaches at grocery stores don't compare.

The pamphlet you’re reading from is from World War II where we would buy war bonds and stamps to financially help our country. It is a debt security issued by the government to aid in the war effort and in times of crisis. 🇺🇸 I feel so old now because I know all about this, you guys are just youngsters!😊
Next time no fire please!! It made us hot just watching you two. We really appreciate all the hard work you put into every show. We drink Unsweetened tea- or use honey when it’s hot then add ice.
The funeral card might just be a neighbor or a friend, doesn't necessarily mean it's family...

Since Ron contacted a descendant of the gentlemen mentioned in the funeral card and he had no clue about the secretary or the lady in the picture I'm thinking now that he was just a family friend and that the funeral card is a dead-end clue.

Prayer cards are still very often given out at Catholic funeral Masses today.
I like Justine’s outfit . Peach ice cream or peach water sounds like a great treat for hot weather .
Love the chickens and candles on the wall! They look great!
Unpopular opinion, I like unsweetened tea with lemon.

The peaches look delicious🍑
I live in South Ga. Peaches are our state fruit! And yes, we love sweet tea here, but I agree - some restaurants make it too sweet. There is a difference between good sweet tea and teas that are too sweet.
I inherited my grandmother's antique secretary when she passed. Unfortunately, I lost it a few years later in a house fire. They are definitely beautiful and useful pieces of furniture.
The postcard with the three heads reminds me of the “Face-in-the-hole” pictures that used to be taken at some amusement parks. They would have a large, humorous, drawing or picture of people, with their faces cut out. People would stand behind the picture and stick their face through the holes from the back to the front and a photo would be taken as a memento of their holiday.
So happy to see you two!❤❤
They definitely still give out prayer/memorial cards at viewings/wakes, especially at Catholic viewings. The prayer card that you’re holding is definitely from a Catholic viewing according to the prayer on the back!

Yes, they're definitely still available. I have several of them ranging from 60 or 70 years old up to the present. Also had the honor of picking out the designs and text for my mom's funeral cards three years ago. The one Justine showed is still available and was one of the designs for the assortment I chose (I think the assortment package I chose had four different ones, but there were many to pick from.)
My hubby's favorite kind of peach has to be soft! Where is Ron's wedding band?😊
I'm a sweet tea tea fan! I'm from Alabama. But that Beach looks like, Panama City Beach in Florida. Back before all the condos and stuff came.
I love all things pewter! It was very popular in Bavaria Germany! I have a few pieces and love my ladle from ASL pewter!
Peaches! Perfect for summertime! I can't wait to watch this after work later! Hopefully everyone is having a most enjoyable week so far! Cheers! 😃✨
You two are adorable ❤
Love the pewter shop behind the scenes!
What a lovely relaxing way to spend an hour. It was like popping round for a cuppa and a blether with friends.
Oh, those would make an awesome peach pie 🥧
Justine's face when Ron was slurping on the peach had me 🤣
I drink unsweetened ice tea. I’ve never tried sweet tea. What a great pewter shop, thanks for showing us.
Next year my small family will be calling St Genevieve our new home, I crochet Sontag shawls and would love to sell them
You two are so funny and so cute together ❤ put the fire out. If its too hot , dont need to light a fire Lol
So much fun and so many peaches. Thanks, Justine and Ron for the hour of fun. I hope you solve the secretary mystery! Try to stay cool, safe and hydrated. Be blessed Mr. and Mrs. Rayfield! xoxo
Peaches are one of my favorite fruits. Nice secretary furniture. It's beautiful. I didn’t know that is the name of it. English is not my language. The items from the secretary are interesting. Weird history facts: Air rifles. Nice collection of pewter soldiers. I had no idea they had been used since the 16th century. Nice pewter store. Thank you Ron and Justine for the video.
Sweet tea and a good peach
Alternate title, how fast can Ron get the runs?.😂
This makes me want to go to the farmers market and buy some real good peaches which is one of my favorites
I loved watching the pewter pours. Thank you for showing that.
Hi JUstine and Ron. I live near Kings Mountain NC and they have renactments. They make soap, pewter eating utensils, dyed wool., spun wood, wove baskets, made candles. I have watched them make lace. I would be interested in watching things like this. They blacksmith. I would be interested in seeing things like this. And maybe it would be cooler to do things like this, until it cools off some.
Do Google image reverse to see if photos match to anything.
"Man, he just went full on leprechaun" 😂😂😂
I don't know if anyone found this, but Edward Marsh's wife may be the one in the photo- she was Margaret Switzer Marsh (1912-2005). Their son Stephen (1949-2024) just died in January- he had 6 siblings, and his kids were Matthew Marsh, Erin Towey, and Kevin Marsh, so one of them may live around you, and it would be great if someone watching this knows them.

@@frontierpatriot Ah! I misheard that part! That is strange! Going through my grandparent's old photos, after they passed, I found so many people that my dad and others couldn't identify. It's sad that as time passes, so many people and memories just fade away and are lost to time!

The secretary is so well made and it appears to be a regional piece. Look for pieces close to the design and talk to people in that region, some makers kept records about who the pieces were sold to.
That secretary is pretty cool!
If my tea is cold, I love it with lemon and sugar, if it is hot. I drink it without sugar, You are so lucky getting peaches the squirrels won't leave our peaches alone lol
Hey guys good to see your show!! Been busy with work and haven’t had time to watch your shows! Love the peaches I always get fresh peaches from my sister and her husband they actually live just an hour or so from colonial Williamsburg Virginia near the water! And yes I s hot here to in WV!
I’m watching so you’re getting Italian vibes 😂 I love the way you tell stories!

Such a fun episode. Thanks for all the hard work you put into it. Loved the field trip to the pewter store!!
Wow that was fascinating stuff. Who knew they had air rifles way back when and the casting was interesting to watch. The shop has some beautiful things in, and what nice people.
the pewter store was SOOO cool. much neater stuff, then what i remember from the web site!!!
Awesome stuff love your videos
I really enjoyed the soldier making section.
Judy (my wife) likes sweet tea and she is from South Texas...like Corpus Christi south Texas. That is all they have around here and "tea" as in regular tea is always called unsweet tea. I'm from St. Joe and spent a lot of my time visiting Chillicothe and that area, so "tea" is either hot tea or cold tea. You have to stress SWEET if you want anything besides regular tea, where down here in deep south Texas, you ask for tea it is always assumed sweet tea.
I remember picking peaches with my mom, brothers and sisters at a "pick your own" orchard. We loved them fresh, but Mom also made pies and preserves. Diced peaches were great on vanilla ice cream with raspberry syrup. I sure hope you'll find the owners of all that literature and the picture of the lady at the beach. And BTW , that's a beautiful old piece of furniture!
sweet tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ron, I"m sure you had contacted the correct family relative to the card. The "Find A Grave" website shows obits of the father and the son and others, and they include a slew of relative's names, if you'd want to pursue it further. Looks like the family was/is all in the St. Louis area.
I lived in Hartford, Illinois when I was a child. Loved my childhood in that small town.
My mom would cut peaches and and put heavey whipping cream over
I have a number of those soldier molds, although I haven't used them in years. It was always tough to get the guns to come out complete. Good fun, though.
Up here in Indiana. We have no peaches. All the trees got hit by a frost. So those are looking mighty tasty. Also it's ninety five degrees everyday this week.
That was fun.. I love the tin soldiers.. thank you..
Raised on sweet tea. I don’t go a day without it.
That secretary is stunning!
What a beautiful harvest.
Those peaches look delicious! 😋 Homemade Peach tea is amazing too, give it a try! ☺️ The secretary may have been passed theough multiple people, so some of that stuff may have been from another person too, I hope you solve the mystery though! The funeral card may have been kept by a friend, distant relative or even a past secret lover. 😅 Hard to tell with those... The photo is a great clue but still tough to figure out just going off of that.... My husband would love your friend's channel I'll recommend it to him! ... I love the soldier moulds, and who knows, maybe one day in the future Ron could make some toy soldiers for your future son. ☺️
I'm from Missourah stock myself and sure do appreciate the sanity of these two. No woke fear of lead or red meat or gender roles, etc. etc.

Well Ron and Justine, I'd keep the money! If you announce it, everyone and their uncle would come out of the woodwork to 'claim it.' Finders Keepers after all! It's not as if there was a notice of it missing! You're lucky you found some interesting things. We recently bought a dresser (not an antique in any way), and when the drawer didn't close right, the only thing we found behind the drawer was socks!!
Very cool video. Thank you for sharing.
Oh you should try the “ Saturn peaches or UFO peaches” they are the BEST! I think they are a very old variety, white flesh, and heavenly taste….your making me hungry! The trip to the pewter store was absolutely fascinating!!! Love this episode!!! Have a great week!!!❤❤❤
White peaches are the best. I'm going back to South Dakota soon, and if opportunity arises, peach trees will be involved, along with native trees.
The Muny in Forest Park is awesome. I went as a girl with my family in the 60’s and 70’s.

Yeah, but the weather isn't great for it right now. Especially for period pieces with those costumes.
The pewter shop looks so cool! I hope to visit it one day!
I like yellow peaches -not white ones! War bonds were very common way to raise money for WW II. The best way to keep mosquitoes away is having certain plants around that they hate-basil, lavender, etc!!
Hi Ron and Justine thank you for the different video I really enjoyed it. I miss your cooking because it is my favorite but I certainly understand why you do not want to stand in front of the fire. Btw...I want every piece of pewter in that wonderful shop! So good to have you guys back
Love your guys show! I’ve been a long time fan. It’s a good break from current life issues.
Please be a bit kinder to yourselves. Aesthetics can hold for another day and we will be fine, even those ingratiates who complain about aesthetics. Really chuffed to see those GORGEOUS peaches.
Very beautiful the shop
I'm guessing who ever owned the secretary may have attended Edward Marsh's funeral and kept the funeral card.

I was thinking the same thing, that the funeral card possibly belonged to a friend of the deceased, and not necessarily a family member.
I love antiques. I was an antique dealer for 25 years. You have some beautiful pieces.
Always enjoy the videos... anyone could have the gentleman's memorial card...a neighbor, relative or other associate. You've got a real mystery going there.
LMAO, I love you guys!❤
On occasion those old secretary’s have a secret compartment 😊 good luck with solving the mystery of who owned the secretary. Few years ago I purchased an 1865 school book with a name handwritten inside, I located the descendants of the person and gave them book. I was really excited to pass the book on to the family. Sadly, I did NOT even get so much as a “thank you”……. 😳😟 Fun video, thanks!
My step-mom collected antiques from North Carolina . I inherited a small chest of drawers signed JED X.
Hi Mr. & Mrs. Rayfield! Great vid as always!!
Love you two! Can't wait to see the house progress. Headed out to buy peaches tomorrow from our farmers market.
I have to commend all craftsmen for their patience lol. I’m more talented at buying things than I’d ever be at making them. 😂
PEACHES! Right now my blueberry bushes are in full swing, and so I am currently drowning in blueberries... a sweet fate. It's pretty hot here in North Carolina too, and it won't rain! 😩
I'd have to run like crazy to the bathroom if I ate that much fruit. Love u guys ❤ and of course Mish Mish
Love watching you both! How fun and stay cool!
Make Lavender oil. Add 4 drops in a small spray bottle, shake vigorously and spray all over body, hair, face. This stops “any” biting stinging bugs from attacking you. You must apply as you sweat. We use it hiking deep in the woods around ponds etc… Was raised with passing down history of family as well. From N.E. and I too am an avid collector of the past… it just comes to you. Agree with your conclusion with the gentleman you tracked down. @ Frontier Patriot ✨💖✨
I love your lead soldiers. I have a box with probably 100 lead Indians that my father and his brother made in the early ‘30’s as young boys
My dad had a lead casting kit from the time he was a kid; I only recall seeing him use it once or twice when I was a kid. He had molds for World War II soldiers, though they weren't very detailed, and molds for various sized fishing weights and split shot.. I don't recall his using the split shot or weights for fishing, though.
Pink Lemons are real!! This citrus is known for its floral tangy flavor and its striking striped skin. The pink lemon was discovered around 1930 among the branches of an ordinary Eureka lemon tree in Burbank, California. The pink lemon is also known as the variegated pink lemon because of its unpredictable appearance.
I also prefer unsweetened tea with lemon or just plain. In the colder months I like hot tea with honey and lemon. Those peaches look really, really good. Wish we could get them up here in New York!
I grew up in New England and until about 5 years ago never heard of sweet tea. It’s definitely a southern thing.
Whenever Antiques Roadshow should come to a city such as St. Louis, there will be experts who will be able to tell you more about the Secretary desk. As for how to keep ants and rabbits out of your garden when you plant one, plant marigolds, ants and rabbits hate them.
Catholic funeral card and Catholic Church brochure. Maybe the parish would have information about the family?
