I have another fun flag fact. When it came time to redesign the flag after Alaska and Hawaii were adopted in as States the government had a contest with the citizens of the country on what the new design should be. A teacher assigned her students this as an assignment and then submitted the designs to the committee choosing the flag. One of her students ended up with the winning design! However the teacher in question actually didn’t like the design and gave it low grade. The student came back and asked her to change it to an A the following year after he returned with the letter from the President etc. congratulating him on his winning design!

Ron - when I started farming after I retired from a career in IT, I found myself needing to work with my hands more. I switched to wearing a silicone rubber ring. They are WAY safer than wearing a metal ring for folks who work with their hands, especially around spinning devices like a lathe or a tractor PTO. As an added bonus - the silicone rings are dirt cheap - so if you beat one up or get tired of how it looks, it's no great tragedy to dump it and buy another. Take care and God Bless.

The egg in the lemonade is so strange but it's cooked and makes it more nourishing, and probably gives it more depth of flavor. I love the history lessons you deliver about the various receipts and other historical places, structures.... I eat the watermelon seeds. I really like the nutty taste. My grandmother used to give me a couple of teaspoons of a mixture of honey, brandy, and lemon to soothe a sore throat and cough. "Old people stuff." Ron....LOL! You two...such a cute couple. People used to put a raw egg into their malted milk, for extra creaminess. Contrary to the name, there are no eggs in a Chocolate Egg Cream. The name refers to the drink's frothiness, similar to whipped egg whites. Cinnamon goes well with oranges. My aunt used to sprinkle a bit onto orange wedges, to enhance the flavour.

I tell you..if id heard Ron's fart joke, id have cracked up laughing 😂 I guess the security guard had asked that same question hundreds of times and was totally bored out of his mind... poor guy ..any sense of humour he'd had, must've disappeared a long time ago. ❤

When my now husband and I were talking about marriage, I had told him I didn't want him spending a lot of money on an engagement ring :) It's nice to know others are like that as well! I love lemonade so I want to try this recipe!!

How you describe the SS guard is exactly how ours is here where I live. They won't let you bring in water, but they will get on to ppl about their phones. Have to go outside. One time one was yelling at a woman about her "pepper spray", it was an asthma inhaler. 🤦‍♀️

My hubby worked at the post office for over 30 years and didn't really do any big handyman/builder stuff so he didn't really have to remove his ring. I, however, always removed my ring when I was gardening or baking to protect it ( the band was joined with the diamond engagement ring). I felt a little naked without it, but, as another commenter said, "The ring doesn't make the marriage". I was happily married for 33 years before he passed. I love watching you two. You remind me of my hubby and I.

Good move taking the show outside. Don't worry about the name change. I'd been married for 24 years and one day signed my maiden name on a check! The teller laughed and I laughed, and I have no idea why that happened.

You are right guys , back in the 70s my future mil took us to her favorite jewelers and we ended up paying over 300 hundred dollars for our simple gold bands imagine what it would cost now for 14 k gold. That's 300 each ring, we were crazy.

I'm watching in bed and had to stifle my laughter when you started talking about explosives so I wouldn't wake up my husband. You guys are too funny. I always put salt on my watermelon and cantaloupe. It brings out the flavor. But, due to an illness, I'm on a low sodium diet. Substitute salt just doesnt taste the same. Your watermelon looked delicious.

There's a very old, nearly extinct variety of lemon, only grown in France. Recently, some French people have started reviving it. My brother and I will do the same, when we move to France.
