How Many Lightsabers Are There?

The Jedi Order was an absolutely massive organisation of powerful force users. Although their main weapon was always intended to be the force itself, as time went by, the order became complacent and put too much emphasis on the use of the lightsaber, a weapon which was used solely by members of the order or its opposition, the Sith.

A question that comes to mind, especially after many rewatches of the movies, is how many lightsabers were actually in existence during the clone wars, when the order was at its peak?
There were around 10,000 members, so an obvious answer might seem that 10,000 is the answer. However, there’s more to account for than you might think. Although it wasn’t as common as the traditional single lightsaber, it was far from rare for a Jedi to wield two single-bladed lightsabers in unison. Of course, in typical lucasfilm fashion, we don’t have any hard numbers on how many Jedi employed this approach to combat, but we’ll assume it’s a third of the order’s members, since we see it in various battles but nowhere near as common as the standard single lightsaber.

What about the lightsabers of dead Jedi? Were they destroyed after the death of their Jedi, or were they stored in the Temple? That would make a massive difference, if potentially 1000 years worth of lightsabers were in storage.

Before a jedi master or jedi knight dies they will give their lightsaber or lightsabers to their padawan so they can remember their masters teachings in the future however this was rare because most of the time when the jedi master or knight dies their padawan falls with them moments later or before, this was shown with Quigons death obi-wan survived and took his masters lightsaber with him back to the temple where he later took inspiration from to make his new lightsaber, and even later during exile to tatooine he took qui-gons lightsaber with him so yes jedi pass their lightsabers down to their padawans to remind them about all their teachings, the jedi who did not get their masters lightsabers usually turned to the dark side and became dark jedi, asajj ventress was an exception since she was taken in and then sent to the battlefield as a child without any real training at the academy so when he master was killed she did not have the proper discipline as the jedi trained In the temple before being given a master, so his death was what brought her to the darkside since she also had hardly any training with her master.

Also sorry for the long sentences I was getting over the flu recently, so I wanted to get as much rest as possible to get over the flu since I have severe asthma the flu could kill me if it gets severe enough sk I wanted to get all that info out before I fell asleep.

You forgot the countless dead Jedi who had there sabre's stored in the temple before the war. And training sabres. Know they weren't as powerful as an actual blade, but they were still classified as lightsabers.
