    This was an excellent video because you highlighted it’s more than just the method. I know how a piano is played but that doesn’t stop me appreciating a great piano performance which is more than just an exhibition of manual dexterity. The best magic performances are great performances even if you know how the trick is done

    Great tricks - and your explanations about the phases of magic tricks...doesn't the design encompasses what and how you actually want the effect to reveal, and of course the method you use to achieve any switch ?

    Haha thought the same, but to be fair he was demonstrating the effect first(which doesn't change), and after spoke about the method, saying it could be done in many ways...choosing to expose a second deal is better than a DL as DL are such a vital part of card magic that you would want to rather expose a gambling move that would be difficult to copy and not used as much in magic? Perhaps implying that the initial effect was done using the method he explained was a bit sneaky but doesn't change anything to a layman watching. Only magicians would notice. :)

  • @JiveDadson

    @JiveDadson

    He's really good, obviously, but his DL could be better. Specifically, there's a method that looks more like what people actually do to deal the top card.
