I think he may have implemented the most successful and humane version of Socialism ever. Not only did Libya advance rapidly, but equality thrived and basic human needs were extremely easy to come by. They even had councils where citizens could decide on matters themselves. So, a direct democracy, rather than a representative one.

Yes, but Gaddafi was Arabic, not black. They killed him because he wanted a United States of Africa (one government, one military, one currency, etc.), and he was creating an African currency backed by gold. That would've made Africa independent, and the powers that be couldn't have that. Their agenda was to always keep Africa impoverished and dependent on them for "aid". That's really why they're so pissed at China now.

Those things that is taken fir granted in the west are very important. If there is no alternatives for citizens participating in the affairs of state, we will have a dictatorship. I admired Gaddafi, but there are things that he did that i would oppose if i was living in Libya. For example, i opposed Libya's anexation of part of Chad. As a black African man i dont want othet races to dictate to us. He should have abide by the OAU principle to respect the 1963 chartet where all OAU members agreed to. Let us not throw out the principle of citizens participating in the affairs of state because the leaders is considered a "good" leader.
