Makes sense. Michikatsu did not have the compatability with the Sun breathing technique so he developed his own Moon Breathing hoping that it could rival the sun. His own hard work did indeed carve the path towards the current demon slayer corp. Likely one of the reasons Yoriichi had a fondness and admiration for his older brother.

@@astro5662 no. Yoriichi had the idea to teach everyone else a derivation of Sun Breathing because his brother learned how to alter it to his own unique Moon breathing. The branching breathing techniques all derive from Sun Breathing but it was Michikatsu/Kokushibo that gave Yoriichi the idea to do any of that.

Technically moon came first. The short claims Yourishi did only try to teach others when his older brother managed to make moon breathing. Sun user born with it. Moon user developed by watching sun fight. Sun user realized others could learn lesser forms even if they couldn't learn sun.

@@Tanksoldier4False…Moon didn’t come first as Yoriichi taught the breathing styles not long after his arrival in the Demon Slaying Corps which is before Michikatsu joined. Which makes more sense since Moon Breathing prior to demonization would have the least amount of forms compared to any other breathing going to show it’s relatively short existence in Demon Slaying history.

Yoriichi made sun breathing but wasn't born with it he had to master it and create it but he was skilled so he did it in no time and he did try to teach people but they needed more skill to master it so he changed his breathing style to suit the person's fighting style but Michikatsu wanted to do more and moon breathing at first was few forms and normal like the others but with his bda it became so strong

Only the chosen ones like Tanjiro are capable of using sun breathing as his bloodline has passed down the forms of sun breathing in the form of a dance called the "Hinokami Kagura."

Kokushibo made the breathing styles "tells us how yoriichi made them"

He is also the reason why kokushi(or whatever they're called) exist. He killed the future leader of the corps, and they decided to create kokushi, whos job was to hide the information of the future leaders of demon slayer corps.

Michikatsu was the most important character in Yoriichi's life. Michikatsu was like the Sun for Yoriichi. Even as a kid, when nobody was there for him, Michikatsu was the one who would come to play with him and Yoriichi also loved his brother so much. Michikatsu cared for Yoriichi so much but always being compared with Yoriichi hurt his pride as a samurai, the jealousy of never being able to surpass him and that Yoriichi was always the special one turned into rage and broke their bond

Kokushibo tried to mimic sun breathing, but it was revealed that it requires perfect movements and any imperfections could cause harm to the body, but these imperfections also created deviations which led to other breathings. The other slayers wither werent strong enough or werent performing precise enough movements.

he didn't modify sun breathing according to other people's personalities he modified it so it would strengthen their strengths

Wrong yoriichi want to defeat the demons and teached them breathing styles and kokoshibo got teached how to make breathing styles.

This is wrong Yoriichi did teach people who became Hashiras but they Changed it to suit their fighting style and so that’s how they came to be

So yoriichi is the founder of the breathing style. But kokushibo is the opportunity for creation of multiple breathing style.

It’s not that yorichi couldn’t teach his style because he didn’t know how to, it’s that everyone else couldn’t learn his style. So instead of giving up on his teachings he then formed other breathing styles to give those people a way to fight like he does

I believe kokoshibou could defeat muzan before he became a demon thats sure it be as easy as it was for yorichi because you know he was gifted and everyone else had to learn his skills if they were able to, thats why they became business partners instead because they share a goal even though they arent humans with those goals

Little correction: Yoriichi wasn't “ Born ” with Sun Breathing. Yoriichi created Sun Breathing to kill demons easily. The strongest Slayers of the Sengoku Era also created their own Style so they could do it easily too. Kokushibō was Yoriichi's brother, and after Kokushibō family died he started walking with Yoriichi. Kokushibō created his own Breathing where many forms also were created so he could protect himself. Edit: Michikatsu was separated from his brother after birth of both of them

When yorichi taught them about All breathing style Kokoshibo was not even in demon slayer group, he was happy with his family,later on Kokoshibo saw his brother stronger than him, and then he joined Domon slayer group, and then he created his own breathing style that is moon breathing style

@@senseiface7787I read manga and it does yoruichi teached kuko 1st and then taught everyone from sin Goku era Kukoshibo actually perfect breathing along side everyone and yoruichi help unlock there demon slayer mark only thing Kukoshibo help do was train and yoruichi help to but sun breathing is main breathing that went to other branches breathing meaning Kukoshibo didn’t perceive or couldn’t do other breathing styles however yoruichi can do other breathing style actaully teach everyone based on kimono color there breathing style and emotion

Yup lots of this is wrong! Yoriichi, taught others the other breathing styles as it complimented their sword skills. Added to the fact VERY FEW can even handle the sun breathing style. The fact that they are brothers and one is sun the other is moon, or polar opposites of one another. His hatred for Yoriichi's skills is what drove him to become a demon. It literally takes Yoriichi 2 movements to defeat Kokoshibo, but he dies on his feet at 80, 60 years after Kokshibo became a demon and he STILL can't come close to Yoriichi lol

Even though Kokushibo would have died Yorichii name would be still remains, because no one knows about Kokushibo and his breathing technique but Yorichii name and breathing technique always remained in every generation. Even Muichiro being Kokushibo descendent don't know about Moon breathing and tells that he is descendent of Sun breathing
