How Jesus Responded to Toxic Guilt

Observing the life of Jesus Christ, you will discover the divine compassion He lived by on a daily basis. But what you do NOT find is Jesus being driven by or manipulated by guilt, especially in how He interacted with people. We often tell believers we should "live like Jesus." But if you watch the life of Christ, He did not feed into the guilt that people would throw His way. In this broadcast, I will bring out two very powerful examples of Jesus not feeding into man's guilt trips and the power it brought out for the glory of God. May our lives be deeply changed as we let go of toxic guilt and learn to truly live from a live of compassionate grace.

Mark and Melissa you rock! After watching hours of your videos these last two months, my previously transactional relationship with God is now slowly transitioning to a relational one. God has used both your words to pave the way for such a change. God bless! ❤🎉😊

I don;'t think there has ever been a time in my life where I've been moved in love to do something. I'm dumbfounded how much I have lived my life out of guilt whether being guilted by others, self-induced guilt, or even feeling guilted by God (even though He doesn't do that). I am truly speechless.

I’ve been In DBT therapy for the last year and my therapist told me I suffer with strong toxic guilt and showed me ways to change my perspective which was life changing but I’ve never heard it from a Christian perspective so I found this absolutely brilliant and it’s confirmed a lot to me. It started to creep back in today as a a family member threw something at me and I nearly had a meltdown by the toxic guilt rearing it’s ugly head again but this has really grounded me again in my spirit thank you 🙏🏼

Wonderful teaching as usual Mark. Just a quick note for other watchers on Jesus' family coming to see him. Mark chapter 3 describes them as coming to control him because (at that time) they thought he was mad. His family werent just there to pay Jesus a visit. Dejesus' point still stands, but I thought it worth mentioning. God bless you all.

You describe this so well. Thanks to God’s Word in our life, we have the power to overcome and discern this fleshly wickedness, when confronted with it. My biggest fear after coming to Christ was the secular world that is within the church. I’m not referring to, (the body of Christ), but rather, the community church’s we attend. The covert way others will dart thoughts at you, to get you to comply with there own thoughts is plane, evil. In ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬; God tells is that there fruit will come in a “wink”. “He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.”

Im about to be 19 and I’m just pretty behind in life and just scared of what the future holds. Just the idea of driving is super scary, things like taxes stress me out, getting a house and maybe having a family. Life seems like a never ending challenge after challenge and I don’t find that enjoyable and I’ve been struggling with my faith and sin. Little things like cooking or renewing your license it just seems like a chore. I spin out and sometimes suicide feels like the only way out sometimes. I won’t do anything but life is hard and I know it’s not meant to be easy but I wish it was

I feel like toxic guilt might be the reason Im still not free from vaping addiction. I constantly feel like im "treading the blood of Jesus underfoot" which gives me a nervous knot in my stomach from condemnation and stresses me out and makes me feel like I need to keep vaping.

Talk to God about it and also, Jesus and I believe Mother Mary - she is high up in helping with breaking free from addiction. That is how I did it. First, you have to want to quit as you know it is hurting you physically and spiritually, which you do. Next, cry out for help. Ask and it shall be given to you. Also, repent of it. You're on your way to freedom.....

I believe Jesus groaned within Himself because they did not believe or have faith he would raise Lazarus. If you take another look at scripture from Jesus point of view they did not trust Him and were grieving because they believed Jesus fell through and He missed His opportunity to save Lazarus. I believe that is also why Jesus Wept. He did not say it was because He loved Lazarus (although He did) , the "Jews' said look he how much He loved him. Many times in scripture the Jews would say its because this or that and Jesus made it clear for those who really looked that the commentary from external people regarding Him was almost always incorrect. Jesus did not weep because He lost Lazarus, He wept because their unbelief troubled Him to tears. Jesus didn't think "I've lost Lazarus" He knew this was all part of the plan but those around Him were weeping because they believed Jesus had failed and Lazarus was gone.
