How Jessica Simpson's Career Was Overshadowed (By Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera)

How Jessica Simpon’s Career Was Overshadowed...And Later Revamped.
So I read Jessica Simpson’s ‘Open Book’ and it was very informative and gave a lot of insight as to what happened to her music career.
Jessica Simpson was one of the leading ladies of the 90’s teen pop movement, she was grouped together with a few other similar blondes; Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

Pressure to be thin, pressure to show skin, pressure to sell sex... Etc. Once she dropped the music career and focused on her family and business, that's were you can see her shine. @Terra Realm You mean, like, when a somebody is in a not so healthy relationship and they would get defensive and snap back at anyone trying to tell them their life is not perfect? You mean, like, how we should stop caring about Britney Spears, for example, because she keeps telling us that everything is OK, even tho, one look at her Instagram and one can clearly see - things are far from OK? You mean, how Mariah went thru hell, for 10 years, married to Tommy, but yet, she was telling everyone things were fine? I think, people should always strive to see beyond the veil that's being laid before them; to see beyond appearances and understand why people might react in a certain way at times.

To add to the horrible body-shaming Jessica experienced: I remember watching a documentary ages ago about Jessica's rise to fame, and that her family tried to go the Christian Music route with her. Christian music producers thought she looked too lewd for their conservative audience, even though she covered up the body GOD gave her.

I always felt that this song was totally all her just by how enthusiastic her voice sounds, plus the lyrical content. She deserves so much more musical success because she has a beautiful voice. But I cannot with the denigrating comments about Britney Spears. She has always been very hard working; she is a very detailed dancer, has a unique sound, both vocally and musically, very beautiful, hard-working, continually succeeding in creating her roots in the pop music industry. I think that kind of goes for all of them though Christina might’ve felt that she wasn’t given the respect because yeah she had the voice but maybe she wasn’t given the respect to be able to make more of the decisions her selves when it came to the type of music and not being seen as being able to sell music if this song was it pop enough Jessica I think people just didn’t take seriously because yeah she had a good voice but it wasn’t as great as Kristina‘s and she just didn’t have the stage presence whatsoever and Britney despite having I guess essentially the most success overall for the most part she had no control over her career and work wise probably had the most demanding of careers especially with not be able to choose what to actually do being thrown into a back to back world tours albums etc. if you think about it her first 10 years of her career she really probably didn’t get to even enjoy a lot of the success because it’s like wow I just performed in front of 100,000 people in Japan but I don’t think about that because I have to do promotion and then jump on a plane and fly to another country and then start all over again but I think they’ve all found their happiness in their careers Jessica realized it wasn’t really involved in music Christina has gotten more control over the type of music and artistry she wanted to portray and even with Britney with her current issues as far as her career I think now that she’s had the longevity and people see even though her image was so thorough and constructed people now I respect that she’s been in the game for so long and wasn’t just a one hit wonder or just a product because as we’ve seen every wrecker company tried to imitate her and they had varying degrees of success but never reaching that Saint pinnacle that she said within her self which Hass to come from within her because if that was the case literally every popstar would have the exact same mold as her it would have the exact same success so despite what a lot of people want to say Brittany definitely worked for what she has but I think it’s the least amount of credit due to it always just seeming so easy and perfect But she had to give up a lot as everyone knows at this point

What i remembered was Britney and Christina were just too popular, that every record labels basically has to turn everyone into Britney 2.0 and maybe Christina 2.0. (A sexy teen pop star like Britney or someone who can also sing like Christina) Mandy and Jessica on the other end were both a little less obvious compared to em two... Honestly didnt really know much about Mandy in her early days, only heard of songs like I wanna be with you, Crush occasionally from the radio. Think she gained media's attentions for her debut movie "A walk to remember" but as an Actress*. Jessica was always second to Britney and Christina for singing or dancing imo (not trying to compare anyone here but state a fact) Her songs are ok and I can name of few but nothing too major, again compared to Britney and Christina's. We were just more excited for Britney and Christina I guess.

I think Britney had the edge bc they came out first, was easy to market and brand. She was an entertainer, she had the looks, seemed to be too obedient, was consistent (made the same type of music), had a great team (musically). I was a Christiana fan but I was disappointed with her sophomore album and image. She seemed confused and confused alot of people. She was trying too hard to distinguish herself from Britney to her own peril. Jessica got the short end of the stick. The major one she didn't have a standout/great songs. No one thought about her image.

I love Christina. I'm obsessed with her talent. She's literally the Queen of vocals in pop music. Has anyone noticed that a lot of artists today really want to have that high vocal range like Christina? She's better than Britney tbh. Although I can't tell that Britney is people's choice because she was the first pop princess during the early 2000s, but lemme say that inside of the industry, a lot of artists and other Christina co-stars in MMC are really amazed by her talent and charisma. Even Britney Spears, from her past interviews back in the 2000s, said that she really loved Christina as a real performer

GOLD Ranger Mandy Moore was a craze here in PH because of the “A Walk to Remember” tracks esp Cry. That song was played everywhere. I remember MYX’s first ever year end countdown, Mandy took the top two spots. She was THAT huge and it had nothing to do with Regine. Jessica Simpson’s popularity in PH was “decent”, not as big as Brit, Xtina and Mandy but her songs also charted and had radio plays so it’s fair to say that she had followings too.
