i love a segment like this.exploring.most never seen how was it made a stuff usually desplay in store.

Am I weird for loving the smell of new recycled tire rubber

Texas uses tires in blacktop back on the 70s, they didn't get all the steel out and there would be rust streaks in the roadway, also used glass these would sparkle.

To clarify LPG is typically propane, which is not a liquid at room temperature, its a gas. It's "liquefied" under pressure in a gas bottle at approx 320PSI. Many people use a LPG gas bottle to run their propane gas BBQ grill.

Europe is obviously a little behind in fuel technology. LPG (aka propane) conversions were popular in western Canada from the mid-80s through the mid 90s, then began to taper out. By 2015, you would have a very difficult time finding a place to refuel a LPG car, if you could find one at all. There were several reasons for people going away from it. 1. It was less efficient, using more fuel to go the same distance. Even though the fuel was cheaper, you used more, and that, combined with the cost of having the conversion installed made its value questionable. 2. It lacks the lubrication that is in gasoline (petrol), causing the engine to wear out prematurely, also adding to the question of it actual value. 3. Special safety training was required to fill a car with LPG, which meant that it was not available at self-serve gas stations. With the amount of full serve stations shrinking, people with LPG cars had difficulty finding a place to fuel up. 4. Unless the engine was completely rebuilt to run strictly on propane, it produced less horsepower after the conversion, which made driving less pleasant. 5. Increased fuel efficiency in gasoline cars through the 90s and 2000s made it less worthwhile. Overall, the cost, and the inconvenience, of LPG lead to its demise around here. Perhaps it will have a resurgence, but I doubt it.

@@caughtinprovidence7197 Have you ever considered fuel prices to be different from the ones you have at your gas station ? In EU in general we have much higher prices and taxes on fuels that you have in the US or Canada, and LPG or CNG, for example, are much less expensive than unleaded or diesel....so it is much more economical to drive an LPG converted car than the standard gasoline one... and I am not considering the difference in pollutant emissions, here in EU Heavily regulated, and much lower on LPG or CNG converted cars. Perhaps not all the world is in your backyard ?

I think L.p.g. is here to stay. Not necessarily as a conversion but rather an engine much like the forklifts utilize, but fitted to automobiles. Diesel retro-fitted with Lpg add-on is supposedly another alternative. I'm not sure, but many people have such a system and claim it's rewards.

I love those mats. but there must be many cheap imitations around. every time I have purchased one there are fibers all over the place and make a mess themselves. I wish I knew where to buy these mats you are showing. they look great, especially with designs.

Crumb or the very fine scrap rubber is used in many countries as a additive to cement and ashphalt products. We had a very efficient plant that was making playground mats as well as exporting to Brazil; anyway, our local worms beat the operator over the head with paper clubs and he sold off the equipment. This isn't a "clean" business but it keeps millions of scrap tires out of landfills. Some unethical auto recyclers bury the damned things!

How they cope ants from attacking this sugar factory? Hmmm curious 😂

In the USA we use recycled tires for use in Asphalt on roads in California.

Don't see that happening any time soon. It's always been more power and more mileage from our conventional fuels (gas and diesel) than we can get using propane or natural gas to power vehicles. And, back in the 1980's when using propane in cars began to catch on, propane was dirt cheap so nobody cared too much that they got less mileage and reduced power. The benefits were: first and foremost, cheaper fuel. Because propane burns cleaner (a LOT cleaner) than gasoline, your engine oil remained clean for a long time. Back then, oil was cheap too, so we still changed it at the regular interval. If you bought the car new from the maker to burn propane, it only came with a propane tank. If you took your gasoline-powered car and got it converted to run on propane, then you had 2 on-board sources of fuel. In the winter time, it was harder to get the car started on propane, due to the colder ambient temperature affecting the fuel pressure available, so most people would run their car on gasoline for the last mile or two before shutting it off, then next time, when they started it up, it would start normally using the gasoline, they'd drive a mile or two on gasoline, then switch over to propane once the engine was warmed up a bit and running smoothly. We didn't have any natural gas cars back then, just propane, so while the basic principles would be fairly similar, the only differences might be the pressure required after the regulator, because NG and LPG have slightly different properties.

Natural gas is beneficial for buses that are normally highly polluting and run through dense areas. Not much else.

This programme is many many years old, LPG is a thing of the past. Now it's electric

I had a 4x4 truck with a gasoline & LPG tank that would go 1000 miles before I had to fill them up again. My ex-husbands friends thought I was marriage material because of that truck. Of course, I found that out after we married & after he took the truck & drove it into the ground.😠

I can't see LPG lasting as we're going towards electric now, unless we have an LPG/electric hybrid system.

i think the biggest limiting factor to lpg is the innate hazard lpg poses, especially when you depend on each individual to properly maintain lpg cars.

@@longlongtran LPG cars are less of a hazard than petrol fueled. The tanks are made to a higher standard than petrol tanks, and the safety controls on the fuel system are more rigorous. The limiting factor is more likely to be the oil companies, along with governments who stand to lose revenue through reduced taxation. The fuel is more environmentally clean and in most cases is produced as a byproduct of natural gas production.

NeXTSTORMING it's actually pretty bland. It's obviously sweet but no real flavor. takes 16 pounds of sugar beets to make one pound of sugar.

When you got a solution that's hot and saturated with something, cooling it down makes it 'supersaturated,' which means that just scratching the side or starting with one crystal is enough to make the rest of the solution form off it.

They're boiling off the water from the juice to make liquor, that liquor is then heated and cooked with "mother crystals" to help promote the growth of more sugar crystals, once the crystals are formed they are dumped into massive receiver tanks where they sit for 24 hours before being sent to the fugal stage and the sugar crystals are then spun to be separated from the molasses which yields raw or brown sugar. They then refugal the brown sugar again to get rid of more molasses which is what creates white sugar.

Nope, it's LPG.. A liquified petroleum gas, hence the name.. Unless you're an uneducated American. Propane can be a liquified petroleum gas but not all liquified petroleum gas is propane, it can contain butane, isobutane and others. Open a book, learn some shit.

Usually You get 15-20% less mileage, so it still makes sense, and You pay much less.

I don't see a problem with that since most cars don't come with a spare tire anymore. Some carbrands even make you pay extra for one (VW group for example)

Depends on the car. Many larger vehicles can carry a cylinder in the cargo area, and lose only a small proportion of the space (which in most cases is empty anyway).

50°c is correct...it's the first stage.150° c is the second stage of the recycling process.

LPG destroys car engines, make no mistake a disel or a non disel car is not made to run on LPG.

Some rural operators of diesel engines add an LPG system to their existing diesel set up. They say that mileage is improved by as much as 25% ...or even more. I have not investigated these claims so I have no comment as to the true nature of this report.

In the 70's I worked on many taxis which ran purely on LPG. These cars ran for many more kilometers than petrol powered vehicles, and were much cleaner.

The burn temperature is different. Older valve materials were a problem. Modern tuned designs work well.
