I feel like this should be one of the first videos people who are new to Sikhism should be shown. The relation of our understanding of techonology, physics, and the universe with religion has had no previous link until Sikhism. It just makes so much sense to me.

God can interact with the creation even if He is "outside of time". How? Because he can do anything and isn't subject to mortal laws.

God that is present now, is also simultaneously present at all points in the past and in the future. Time and space are physical attributes. God is present at all points in space as well as time. In God's point of view, us humans and this universe is just a drama...a play...but from our perspective..where our bodies are bounded at a point in space and time...we perceive that we have free will....that we have a choice. It is often said that the soul is a part of God....God being described as the All-Soul. The same attributes that can be applied to God, can also be applied to the soul. The Soul like God, is not bounded by space or time...but we do have a sense of separation from God...but this separation has to be an illusion...

I truly think this religion and philosophy is awesome and Guru Nanak was so much ahead of his time!! The only problem I would have is to wear a turban, I never got used to putting anything on my head :)

When you say guru ji is in you, he is actually you, your consciousness is the segment of the cosmic order, hence why cosmology is a big thing, because the universe is a vector both looking macroscopically and microscopically, thus it shows that our consciousness perceives reality within laws and constructs, thus consciousness must pervade such law given that it's a manifestation of the whole.

I think the main problem with all of this is that the oneness you are speaking of is also present in naturalism. It's not at all clear that the religious aspect is adding anything to understanding of reality. Also, the idea that Sikhism should be credited for the big bang theory is just silly. All versions of naturalism that has ever existed has had ideas of a cyclic existence and this is in fact the only possibility under any monist account of reality.

I never claimed that the big bang theory is from Sikhi, however it is rather amazing that this is the very first word in our scriptures. Secondly, although Naturalism may have had the concept, its unlikely it posited that this from from the Divine One that pervades this creation or that the Sound was Oaang. Finally, that the Divine exists and available for us to connect to, is not something to be debated but experienced. its not religion we are preaching, its the connection to the One. Its irrelevant whether we think it adds or takes away from our understanding of reality. Its part of Reality and our understanding must then incorporate it. Much of reality can be called "inconceivable" until we realise its actually true.

I like the idea of naturalism. Also want to add that Sikhism is pantheist religion and believes that God and nature are the same. So I do not see any problem. Only issue with naturalism is that it is missing to focus on observer based existence of reality proved by the most successful theory of Quantum Mechanics. It is proven that act of observation not just affects the reality but creates it. Now think if Big Bang has happened then how was performing the act of observation ? I think answer is easy.

Vivek Jagpal You are misinterpreting the idea of an "observer" in quantum physics. It's not whether you are looking or aware, but the act of using a detector is a physical imposition on the system. Any practical detection method has a direct physical effect on the system that will alter the outcome from then on. This does not mean that reality collapses into a specific existence when you're aware. It just means that, if you use a method of detection to become aware of one aspect of the system (such as position), you ruin your ability to detect another related aspect (such as momentum). So in simple terms, if you detect where it is, you can't also detect how it's moving, and vice versa. This is called the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. Catching a throw to home plate doesn't make a baseball suddenly come into existence. It just stops the ball that was originally thrown so that it's path is altered. If the shortstop cuts it off, the catcher won't also catch the same throw. Whatever that baseball was going to do from then on has been changed. Make sense? Experiments like the "delayed choice experiment" are confusing and it can be popular to pretend there is a mystical explanation behind it, but that's just something people make up after the fact. It's nothing concluded by the experiments.
