I can only continue to wish my hair was as beautiful as yours. Wow! Mine is just a frizzy mess more often than not, no matter what I do.

@@idkwuzgoinonfrizzy hair is def not a normal or natural texture. usually means the hair is so dry. there are ways to improve this for sure. just letting anyone who reads this thread to know that frizzy hair isn't a prison you have to live in 😂 probably need dead ends clipped + a routine to keep your hair moisturized well.

@@murakamixo Ooohhh yes, I'm very aware that my hair is hella dry. xD Seems to remain that way no matter what I do. Very annoying. (Also, living a strict 'no-heat tools on my hair'-life doesn't help me much in the 'hair looking nice' department, as again, was not blessed with beautiful hair genes. xD)
I was JUST thinking about how to style my hair without a part! Thank you so much for this!

And what about the bottom part like the sides ? How do u style that before styling the top like this ??
I still wish I had curly hair like this. My hair is very pinched straight and very thin and fine. I absolutely love your hair!! I know the grass is always greener on the other side but your hair is stunning
Curly hair is just so gorgeous 😩 i wish i had curly hair
I shaved my head a couple months ago because it wasn’t very healthy (and I’m in college so what the hell why not). Last week I finally got my first full curl back and it made me so happy. Won’t be long before my curls are BACK and BANGIN

I'm a year in on my shaved head journey! I went all the way down to a 1 and just barely got my first hair cut a couple of days ago to help my curls as they grow out. Good luck! I'm sending you lots of patience with the growing out because trust me you'll need it 🤣

@@JustMe-vs1kj 🤣 so true. I miss those short lived glory days when I was about 20 and my curl pattern & thickness was just perfect for the wash & go life. Mine has relaxed so much now I am considering if a perm would be a realistic fix. 😬 😆

The video that I needed today! I keep trying to style my hair with no part, but I keep ending up with one anyway. I know it's gotta be something I'm doing without realizing, but dang! Thank you for this tutorial.
My 12 yr old has curls just like yours! We are just now learning to care for it. Saving this just for her ❤
Thank you! Finally someone takes the time to show how to style curly hair.
Thank u for more advice that works & not just a fad. Ur advice changes as u grow as a hairstylist and curl guru. Always showing us what works best, not just the new trend...& if it is a trend, u tell us why it works/or doesn't. Sometimes at the detriment of ur own hair care...This is why I trust u. Thank u, Mel.❤
What kind of brush are you using in this vid?❤
You hair looks absolutely stunning! The length, the color, the curls..❤❤
My daughter is biracial and has hair just like yours! I’m gonna try this. We _finally_ found a gel that works with her hair (has hold, not too heavy, dries all the way quickly) so now I’m trying to learn how to apply the gel and in what sections so I can get that proper definition without frizz. She’s 5 now, so I’m trying to get started early so by the time she’s old enough to do her own hair, we know what we’re doing with it. 😂

Gel goes on after defining the curls just to keep it from frizzing. To define the curls you need a curl cream or product, sometimes a leave in conditioner as well. Depends on her hair. The hair has to have slip.
Mell! I watch a lot of your videos and this is the first time I understood this. THANK YOU!

If you have a natural, that loose parting method works GREAT for flat twist out styles.
Just what I needed❤ I’ve been trying to find ways I could style my hair without it drying with my side part.
This is genius. I can use this for a chunky twist-out to make my hair fall properly. Thanks, hunni!
I would LOVE to know what kind of gel you're using. I love how it's not frizzy at all.

BEAUTIFUL! I wish my hair looked cute like that. Mine never curls nearly that nice. Especially in the back.
My daughter’s hair is just like yours, and she hates to have it down, cause it gets tangled. So I showed her this video and said see, step by step it won’t hurt either. Bam, beautiful luscious hair. Thank You, Mel. ☝🏻😅❤
I am definitely going to try this around the crown of my head... I've just been trying to do a half part that stops before the back of my head.

Hi Mel, any tips on eliminating frizz at the roots? The top on my hairline always frizzes up and my curls have a hard time staying defined there 😕
ABSOLUTELY the best tutorial I've seen on styling and bring out the curl in your hair.

I use the herringbone method you suggested a while back!! This is genius too. Thank you for everything you've taught me about hair. It's never been healthier or thicker ❤
Omg thank goodness I found this, I created a part in my hair that won't go away. I'm going to try this tomorrow! ❤

I wish my curls were half as defined and beautiful as yours! Your curls are STUNNING.❤

@@bigvi9585 SAME!!! I am forever looking for ways to make my hair have less volume. It's HUGE and always has been ever since puberty when the curls started. Super frizzy and dry no matter what I do. I have long layers and actually look for very moisturizing products that are heavy TO WEIGH MY HAIR DOWN!! haha!! Everything is always about "not" weighing the hair down and giving more volume....ugh!!! I'm so glad I'm not alone and there's someone else out there fighting the same thing!
This is literally what I’ve always done for my hair. Just makes it lay the best.

You have my dream curls.
OKI just discovered your channel. I absolutely love that you add science behind it as opposed to just showing us products you used to make your hair curly. I'm a 3/a-b porous hair and and still trying to get that voluminous Thang going on these fine curls! For instance today is a good day but I can never get the crazy volume. P s my hair is also halfway down my back. But i'm gonna keep watching I'll get it one day soon!! Thanks for all the help!
I so needed this!
hey queen i was just wondering if you think this technique would have a similar effect on short wavy hair? or if you think that it would just straighten it?
@sydneyruewho13

As someone with short wavy hair yes it works and it doesn’t straighten it it actually makes my hair looks curlier. My hair is roughly 2c, 2b, 3A (if you watch any of my videos you can kinda see my hair) but it is the best technique ever
