How lucky are you realising all this wisdom at age 28. I'm 40 and only just realised a lot of what you talk about on this channel ;)

Me too was thinking the exact same thing! In my 20s I felt very much under the control of other people not happy or doing anything I wanted in life. Taken a long time to find a better situation and then people make mean comments because you're not living traditional life!

Sorry, but 'realizing it at age of 40 instead of 28' sounds like nothing more than excuse for not doing anything about that. I don't know what's wrong with the age here - grass is always greener over there. I'm 29 and sometimes I wish to realize few of these things at age of 40, when I'd be more settled and have a total different look upon life. But these beliefs and stops won't let me choose to be miserable.

Man I appreciate you and this video. I'm turning 60 this year and feel so much of what you're talking about. Alot of regret, alot of what-ifs. So trapped in trying to live in this world that I lost my way. Was hoping to leave my mark on this world but I'm running out of time. So now I'm just trying to figure out how to live....really live. Thanks for hearing me. Keep sharing your thoughts. They matter.
I am 37 and feel like I am not where I want to be at life. I started taking action 1st January this year. So far most things didn't work out but I will dust myself and try a different way. The journey is not linear. Even in my "failure" I have learnt a lot. Thank you David for your videos. It is OK to watch the big channels from time to time but your channel gives unique value to people starting or in the beginning of their journeys!
I haven’t been feeling well lately in all aspects of my life. Everything seems to be going to shit, but your videos always bring some peace in me. This one was great, I’m gonna replay it until I have it engraved in my brain. Thank you for creating this type of content, you have a new subscriber.

Change in life is scary, most of us live within the comfort of our parents house which can stagnate our development if we don't try to eventually move out and take risks, I'm 25 and I'm at the stage now where I honestly don't care what other people think, don't waste time, life is short, it gets easier the older and wiser you become!

I spent the decade between 20 and 30 in complete isolation due to severe social anxiety. I am now 40, and after 10 years of constant struggle, I can finally live a somewhat normal life. But its hard to not feel that life has been wasted. I am very far behind others and have never been able to experience the social life most people take for granted at the age of 20-40. Arguably the most important time of life? I might as well have been in prison for those years (in solitary confinement). It is really hard to not feel like a failure. And i feel very ashamed about everything.

I swear if I had the little wisdom I have today about the importance of time by age 15 instead, I would have set the world on fire, no doubt but the sad reality is that youth is forever gone
Im 21. Last year was the best time of my life. I worked as a janitor for a science station, and the community was so good. After my contract expiered I decieded to travel alone to "prove my worth" as i felt like a loser in the gymnasium - even though that was two years before and largely forgotten. I chose the most dangerous trip i could try and ended up being hospitalized and had to take monthlong teatments. Right now I cannot sleep as I drown in regret and shame.. Last year was the best time of my life because I did it for me. On paper, traveling dangerously in Asia sounds more epic, but I dont give a shit anymore: I worked as a janitor and loved my life, and my inner peace was nothing like any time before. I will find back to loving myself. I needed this video now. Thank you.

It’s so hard to forgive myself. I actually feel embarrassed about past choices/decisions. My therapist tells me that the fact is, I made the decision based on the information I had at the time. There’s frustration, guilt, constant beating up on myself about where I am now in life because of past choices. Thanks for this reminder.

Forgiving ourselves is powerful. It's all fate if you ask me. My mother left us when i was 10 and this had a big negative impact on my life as u can imagine. In between birth and death is a FULL LIFE. Even living a few minutes.
A friend of mine in his 70s worked all his life building a large company with offices all around the world. He made millions and millions of dollars. Bought homes, travelled the world, had tons of friends and business connections. Now, in his 70s he’s alone at his newest vacation property by a serene lake. Most of his family is gone but he still has many friends. His biggest regret is that he never married and had kids. He came to the realization that becoming world famous for work, making enough money to do whatever he wants and traveling the world doesn’t comfort him at the end of the day. Those things don’t kiss him goodnight. Those things don’t keep him warm, give him hugs or kiss him goodnight. Those things don’t talk to him, ask him how he is, laugh at his jokes or fill up his home. The most important thing for you to do right now is build a family because, when you are old, all your money and experiences won’t be your comfort.

That's wisdom many people will unfortunately learn to late in this modern world of self serving, self gratifying temporary happiness seeking ignorance. You know what I also notice… is how those who make a lot of money from this, regurgitate content constantly… they sell out often on their own belief systems/value systems. Sure we got to make a living I totally understand that, but at the end of the day people respect integrity more then anything else at all, be loved by your community, hopefully a physical one - because I really do think that physical bit, where we actually talk to each other and get all the other good stuff is the connection that is missing currently (particularly in the UK). You see it when you travel, the one thing many less affluent countries often have is a strong sense of identity and community… which totally is more important (that thing that makes people happy), even though in relative terms they are monetarily poor. 😃😁 Don’t get me wrong I love you tube, I love content and real peoples stories, those who are not influencers per say, I love DIY folks who are vulnerable and make mistakes and are not afraid to admit them etc… that’s interesting! But maybe not commercially as valuable? These folks have jobs for a long time until maybe they can live off the content they made. Enjoy the process and being sad is fine, but too often is not fine 😀👍
