After losing my Pom (he was 14) I was given a black Pom and her name was Coco but I’ve always wanted a female dog and always loved the name Willow. She was 2 when I got her and has adapted to her new name very quickly, she’s 5 now and is the most affectionate dog I’ve ever had and I can’t imagine life without her.

Stella and Sammy were two little slices of heaven covered in fur. And now they're up in heaven amongst all the other fur babies lost but loved so dearly. Two terribly painful losses which turned into so much being gained through the sanctuary. They're still with you Lee, always walking by your side in spirit, with the rest of the pack. You're a wonderful human being ❤

Tomorrow is my 66th birthday and over 6 years ago my husband and our two cats all died within 6 months of each other. It's hard to go on when your whole family is gone, when you can no longer see a purpose in being here. I really needed to hear this lovely pep talk from Lee on the cusp of my birthday. Such a lovely, strong, purposeful and soft hearted fellow.

Yes, Lee is one of a kind for sure, one of the best! Linda, Happy Birthday to you! 🎂 I can relate to your story. I lost my mom, my toy poodle, and my brother all within the last few years. I'm fortunate to have the best husband in the world, though to help me through. It's still a struggle, having to deal with other family issues too. Not to mention the world issues. I watch an Asher video when ever I need to be perked up. I still have not been able to get a new dog in my life though. I hope you've been able to get a new buddy in your life! Be well, enjoy the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars every chance you get!!

You have honored Stella and Sammy with the creation of the Sanctuary. The love you carry for them has expanded to all of the sweet creatures you care for. You have allowed us to have a window into your life and it is heartwarming and uplifting. I have my own frosty faced blue pit bull named Stella and we too are coming to the end of our journey together. Cherish every day you have, love with all your heart, and carry those wonderful memories with you always. Thank you, Lee Asher, blessings to all at the Sanctuary.💕

As hard as it is we somehow do what is best FOR THEM. I try to keep in my heart that they know they were much loved and I am with them till the end. They place themselves in your heart and take a piece with them as they journey ‘home’. You are much loved Lee and you don’t know how much you hold us up. You are here for such a special purpose and we are grateful. Be safe and enjoy your pack good sir. I believe those who have left our sides physically walk with us in spirit. 💖😒💜. Stay safe.

We’ve worked all our lives to end up here. All our funds are exhausted and his grant for chemo meds ran out. Our sweet dogs keep us going, but 1 is near the end. I wish I knew how to help you and your husband with your situation medically and financially cause I certainly would. Have you tried contacting your local health department about your husband's medicine and needs? Maybe there's a grant or something you can apply for since you take care of him and he has cancer. Idk I know I'm no help and I'm rambling on and on. I'm so sorry, all I can offer is if you need to talk and just unload I've always got a ear to listen.

This is so sad. I understand how it hurts. 2 days ago I had to take my husky mix to cross over. He had been sick for about a month and it was cancer. Then we wake up on the day we are supposed to go to the vet, he is happy and smiling for us. His original vet from when he was a puppy from the shelter told the other vets in the hospital that she was going to do it to be there with us. The surgeon that repaired his broken leg was with us. He was loved by everyone.

I've had 2 staffies, both rescue dogs. They're the most wonderful dogs. I found out while doing some research that many of the awful ailments and worse that dogs suffer from is actually stuff put in the many brands of dog foods, put I there by unscrupulous "dog food" manufacturers that are in cahoots with big pharma (who make all the drugs & surgical supplies that vetinarians use. It's incorageable. So sickening. At least most dog lovers know not to give their pets any "tap water" it's containing of fluoride and chlorine gives dogs and cats kidney disease. Most vets KNOW THIS.

This breaks my heart at the same time as it shows just what a wonderful human being you truly are and how in sync you are with your beloved animals. The same week that this happened my Paddy had been for his 6month check up at the vets all jabs up to date wormers the flea tablets everything just right and we were all going camping in the Lake District over here in England my paddy loved going there. The lakes are spectacular the scenery is the best I have ever seen, 3 days into the trip he drops to the floor and starts seizing. Quickly found a vet 24 hours later my Paddy was gone. It was that fast. I still can't understand why he wasn't sick why no one picked up on it. My vet at home said it was because he kept it secret never understood then and don't understand now. Then 2months ago I lost my Lucy same thing Cancer and she went almost identically to what Paddy had. There was nothing to indicate that she was sick. Lucy was a Jack Russell and she had one speed FAST. Her zoomies round my home and garden made me feel tired. It was all day with brief periods of rest. We picked her up from my mother in laws why we went to watch our son in a football match she was fine came home flopped on the settee and next morning she fell down the stairs a freak accident never fallen before so of we go to the vets to make sure she hadn't broken anything 500 pounds later within 3 hours she was diagnosed with double cancer in her spleen and it had started to spread and again no warning signs by the next morning she was gone. In my head I am glad they didn't suffer but my heart is broken they were my pals my comfort blankets one by one my children are flying from the nest but husband and I said we still have the fur babies and now we don't. I can't replace them it's just not happening. I think Mr Asher you are one fine example of a human being your heart is huge your capacity for love is phenomenal I wish you nothing but happiness and peace. You gave each and everyone of those beloved animals a chance when others didn't. ANGELS WALK AMONG US they don't get their wings until the pearly gates.

This is the raw reality. I don't know what it is with Pit Bulls and cancer, but I lost my sweetest Mr. Annie to cancer at only 7 yrs old. Too young. A Pit Bull. My first Pit Bull. He was fine 2 weeks prior to his diagnosis. He was doing zoomies, swimming in the lake, playing with my nieces and nephews, then it started with his right foot. I assumed arthritis. Just limping. So I took him to the Vet. They ran blood tests and did an x-ray. Full blown cancer. The Vet gave me medication to keep him "comfortable ' and time for me to accept what then needed to happen. I had to let my Best Friend go... 😪 I'm still grieving 10 months later. I tried to volunteer, not ready. Everytime I see someone walking their dog, I need to turn away... I have fostered 8 different Pit Bulls. All female seniors with cancer. We pulled them from shelters, knowing they had cancer, so they could live out their lives in a Home environment. So hospice care. My Mr. Annie was the BEST foster brother to them. I will adopt another Pit Bull again one day. Until then, I watch your channel, I donate money to the rescue I fostered for. Southern California Pit Bull Rescue out of Simi Valley, CA. My heart is hurting for you now... 💔 I'll pray for you and your pack. They will miss Stella too. 😔 Life is so very fragile. 🙏

We went on to adopt a pug (Nova) from pug rescue. Crazy thing is that he and pippa were born on the same day. You do great work and inspires a person to adopt.

Hi Lee. I have to tell you I just discovered you a couple of days ago when I saw one of your Dodo videos and now I look forward everyday to catching up on your videos. I had a tough year dealing with illness and unemployment due to that illness, and finally the past couple of months getting the strength and will to rejoin the world again. I am a nurse, animal rescue advocate, universal minister and energy healer/empath....but the past few years I slowly deteriorated due to dependency on prescription pain meds following a very bad injury while working as an ER nurse. Covid made things worse and I became very ill followed by severe depression. But Source Energy and the Universe allowed me the resources to survive and fully recover in addition to getting off the pain MEds and getting the support I needed for the depression. Now I am in high demand as a nurse working on entering the work force again, been offered a great position to start later this month. I still deal with self isolation and trying to get my old thriving self back who I ignored and neglected for years now as I anesthetized my physical and emotional pain with the pain MEds. I watch you and the beautiful sanctuary you created. I am 52 years old and my whole adult life was to so what you are doing on a full time basis. Now the past 32 years I have exhausted myself rescuing, rehabbing, fostering and adopting homeless, abused and neglected animals. I too feel a deep love and compassion for all humans and animals and I just finished watching your video where you helped the blind man. I could feel your heart and I see you as a kindred spirit. Point being, watching your videos is helping me to breath some life back into my world plus you make me laugh and I can't wait to begin my new job and become a patreon with you and do what little I can to also help your sweet babies. I have met many many animal welfare activists and rescuers the past 32 years, visited many shelters and sanctuaries, and I have to say you are unlike anyone I have ever met or known about doing this kind of loving work. God bless you and I cant wait to share more of your adventures as your fan and supporter. You are a beautiful fun loving soul.....a very old wise soul. Love you man and all the Asher babies! Terahscout@yahoo.com (Terah Cavagnaro). Peace out bro!!

Lee, you will never give up no matter what. The sanctuary is your life, the animals are your life, hopefully you will never want to change anything. You are an inspiration to many many people, you encourage so many people to be kinder to animals. If you can change the way people think and act, you can save so many animals by just being you. I haven't changed because I have always loved animals, I just wished I could have set up a sanctuary because I really do prefer animals to humans. Lol. I rescued mostly cats, dogs, birds and rabbits and luckily I had a big enough garden to house them in. Given the opportunity and the cash, I would have done exactly what you have done. Keep strong, keep safe and keep doing what you are doing. Bless you. Xxxx

Lee, your a humble and kind human being. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes and God willing we learn from the first one and keep pushing forward. It's about never forgetting where we come from and who we are as individual's. The animals are grateful and you can see that clearly in each video you upload, your staff is grateful as well or else they wouldn't be there. Just keep doing you and being you, people can either appreciate your honesty or not. Thank you always for being a kind and honest person with emotions.

I appreciate you sharing this story. Listening to the losses, to your loss of loving animals, just crushed me. You kept it together better than I, and you're telling the story on camera. Brought me back 6-years, to the loss of my super-dog, "Sammy", a black Lab. As I have always been an animal lover, I've realized that it is the protection and care of these valuable lives that reminds the "little boy" in me of the lack of same that I experienced, and attempted to provide for my pets. Your narrative, as expressed herein, is inspiring; finding the meaning in the pain. I've imagined living in a wood cabin, on plenty of land, with as many animals (dogs) as could be well cared for. I would like to help you, The Asher House, and especially the dogs, who are as innocent as children, and deserving of love and care. I have trained as a mental health therapist, have always had great compassion for animals, and would like to come to Oregon and help. As you stated your "just getting started", please let me know if/how I may be of assistance. I want to dedicate my life to helping save animals, and be part of a pack. If you read this, and are interested in low-cost help for your great cause, I'm seeking a cause to dedicated myself to. I am able to relocate, and am not saying this in jest. Please respond to this comment and I will provide contact information so that we can communicate about such an arrangement. When the question, "what would you die for/thus live for" comes to mind, it is only helping animals that makes any sense anymore. If this is not of interest to you, then I'll be wishing you, The Asher House, and its inhabitants the very best and enjoying your videos.

I found you watching the Dodo and wanted to tell you that I have a picture of a dog named Stella in my collection of 700+ pics on my laptop's screensaver. There was a woman on Google+ who used to put pics of dogs that needed to be rescued on her profile and then I would in turn put them on Twitter for more people to see. I also came from Cali 30 yrs ago and reside in OR too now and have dreams of having a sanctuary for any type of animal in need of help. Growing up I wanted to become a veterinarian but after my sis became a vet tech and told me how most of the vets treated the animals and my dad discouraging me and telling me to be an attorney I abandoned the idea. You have renewed my hopes of helping animals in need and would like know more about how a sanctuary is run. Gonna watch as many of your vids as possible and will check out your websites to learn more about Asher House and your operation. Thank You for all you do for God's greatest gift the animals of this earth, you truly are a gift to them. L&L 2U always Lee
