The interesting thing is that I know all these scratches well: chirps, babies, drags, even joe cooley scratch. But you've mastered them perfectly and create ear-pleasing variations! Great, again extremely grateful for a breakdown. I will try to adopt this knowledge to the jungle scratching too (160 - 180 BPM)

Thank you! I forgot to say on the video it'd good to listen to a few sets with decent MC's. It's a good way of creating different patterns if you try and scratch similar to how they lay there words down over a track. Good luck mate, please tag me on any new uploads you do and I'll Check them out!

Hi. I’m just wondering if you have the turntable plugged into the phono or line input on your controller. I think the Numark TTX has a line/phono switch & I heard the phono inputs don’t sound great on the ddj-1000. Thanks for the tutorial by the way 👍

Hi, I have these connected on the line setting, and also the line setting on the controller. Yes I'd agree this setting does seem the better out of the 2 options. It's nice to have the option to go line. With phono I've found quite a bit of feedback noise. I hope this helps you. Thanks! I tried my best with it 😁

Hi, thanks for your comment, are you scratching with an old record? I'm using timecoded vinyl here so scratching a digital sample. On my old scratch sample records the quality is always a little rougher. Maybe try giving your record a clean? Many thanks 😊

When I was learning to DJ there was no internet or video help. I kinda had to figure it all out on my own. I've tried doing some scratching but as I said without tutorial, I just made it up as I went along. Unfortunately me kinda doing it wrong/own way for so many years that even now I can't shake off the muscle memory. I Know it sounds odd but even though I am right handed I scratch like a left handed person, again because no one told me I was doing it wrong. haha. So everything is arse road round in my head and I just can't shake out that muscle memory. When I was in my early teens my Grandmother died and I was helping clear out her house I found an old guitar that belonged to my uncle who had also passed away. That was a left handed guitar and I didn't realise. I learned to play that on my own too. So I now operate decks left handed and can play a left handed guitar even though I'm right handed and struggle to do anything else with my left. hahahaha

I was exactly the same, I remember having to re-learn how to scratch after years of doing it the "wrong" way 😄 it's amazing what you can teach your body to do! It's strange you say you are right handed but can do certain things with your left, when I was younger my mate had the more popular right handed golf clubs, because I didn't have any left handed ones I just learnt with the right handed ones and now they feel more natural to me 😄

Thank you, 🙏 the names have changed over the years! In the UK we did used to call the 90s breakbeat stuff hardcore, then as time went on that all became oldskool and the newer stuff was named UK hardcore, it might be called something different today! Where abouts are you from? Thanks for commenting!
