    Thank you, 🙏 the names have changed over the years! In the UK we did used to call the 90s breakbeat stuff hardcore, then as time went on that all became oldskool and the newer stuff was named UK hardcore, it might be called something different today! • @barrywatts8501
    @barrywatts850122 күн бұрын

    You can skratch both ways. What ever you get used to. Right hand on the fader if your right handed you will be better at that quicker. Srong hand on record . More record control. D-styles said should be strong hand on record because that is where your voice is for skratching. The fader hand is just on and off.

    When I was learning to DJ there was no internet or video help. I kinda had to figure it all out on my own. I've tried doing some scratching but as I said without tutorial, I just made it up as I went along. Unfortunately me kinda doing it wrong/own way for so many years that even now I can't shake off the muscle memory. I Know it sounds odd but even though I am right handed I scratch like a left handed person, again because no one told me I was doing it wrong. haha. So everything is arse road round in my head and I just can't shake out that muscle memory. When I was in my early teens my Grandmother died and I was helping clear out her house I found an old guitar that belonged to my uncle who had also passed away. That was a left handed guitar and I didn't realise. I learned to play that on my own too. So I now operate decks left handed and can play a left handed guitar even though I'm right handed and struggle to do anything else with my left. hahahaha

    I was exactly the same, I remember having to re-learn how to scratch after years of doing it the "wrong" way 😄 it's amazing what you can teach your body to do! It's strange you say you are right handed but can do certain things with your left, when I was younger my mate had the more popular right handed golf clubs, because I didn't have any left handed ones I just learnt with the right handed ones and now they feel more natural to me 😄
