Hey guys,
Welcome! Thanks for watching! In this video, I'm talking about my alopecia struggle and sharing what I did to regrow my hair after balding. It took a while for me to make this video because I didn't know if I was comfortable sharing but I figured I would, just in case someone was having the same struggles. I hope this helps and I've left links to where you can find the products.

You did an awesome job with the regrowth. It's my middle that has thinned. The hair has grown back, then it falls again. Now, it's slowly coming back, I stopped retwisting several weeks ago. My locs are good in the back, on the sides. Some thinning in my right edges, but I noticed it coming in...yeh!!!☺️

@@NappyLife I went on Etsy and found a number of ladies that make their own line of natural hair products. I've ordered from one her site is "nature's ego". I'm using her fenugreek hair food. I just started using it about a week ago. It makes my hair soft. But in order for me to be able to massage it in, I cut my locs off. They were only 5 months old, there fore I didn't mind. I just ordered from a young lady who's products are hand made and has been endorsed by Macy's. Her web name is AyursBatchofnature. She has a bundle for $66, I chose that one because it has the cleaner. This is her alopecia kit. Check it out. I will keep you posted about my hair growth journey... Peace and Blessings ☺️🙏

Congratulations!! This video and your progress are very encouraging. Good stuff. I have experienced thinning for years. I believe what helped was diet, installing a shower filter, and not letting my scalp dry out. So I had success from washing every week and using oil, but sparingly; daily green smoothies which included chlorella, an algae, which is a natural source of MSM; and eliminating pore clogging chemicals/minerals thru my shower filter. When I installed the filter, I saw immediate results...and I do mean immediate. The hair in my crown actually felt like hair and no longer felt like straw, it began to curl, the skin felt softer, and the hair eventually caught up to the longer hair around it. I'm working on being consistent w/my daily smoothies again.

I have allergies and I have noticed if I use these hair growth oils, I also experience itching. This is a sign of allergic reaction. One of the ingredients in this Wild Grow oil is causing the problem. It impossible to determine which one. I only use one ingredient hair oil like argan oil, rosemary oil, tea tree oil, or castor oil. I make sure its pure & organic. I get these oils from Whole Foods or Amazon. I don't mix them. I alternate them a month apart.

But because I can't really remember what my edges were like as a child, due to early age relaxers, I'm not sure if my edges are thin because of genetics or if my edges have been damaged by the relaxer. I did go natural about 13 years ago, and now have been locc'd for about 3 months. The one thing that has been working for my edges is surprisingly water and hair grease. I do wanna try fenugreek or some type of herbal rinse to see if that helps.

All of the RELIGION OF LOCS, is akin to saying ; (1) not EVERYONE who smokes cigarettes will develop lung cancer or heart disease (2) not EVERYONE who has diabetes will have an amputation or develop kidney failure or go blind (3) not EVERYONE who uses heroin or meth will overdose (5) not EVERYONE who drives at 100 mph will have a deadly car crash So what the hell, if I lose ANY of my hair follicles, so what A HAIRSTYLE is WORTH THE RISK OF BALDNESS. None of these RISKS are REQUIRED to LIVE. Nor is a HAIRSTYLE REQUIRED to LIVE. THAT is what I am hearing.

@@tinyladie1520 , RE-read the video TITLE, then RE-read my response. Just because someone else REGROWS their alopecia does NOT mean everyone will. MOST people with TRACTION alopecia don't FULLY restore their follicles. Most of those that restore most of their follicles are (1) YOUNG and have not been wearing their locs or braids for years and years, so they have minimal damage (2) the people who STOP wearing locs or braids and SEE the destroyed follicles EARLY ON , STOP the problem by NO LONGER wearing locs or braids ever again. Sadly, most loc or braid wearers DON'T PAY ATTENTION to the damage until they have extensive alopecia and that is usually after wearing them for 10 to 20 years. Everyone male or female will experience a hormonal changes after age 45 to 50. These hormonal shifts ALONG with other health related issues and prescriptions WILL and DO contribute to hair thinning. Hormones effect everyone after middle age and along with these hormonal shifts involve the hair. So WHY KNOWINGLY WEAR HAIRSTYLES THAT WILL ABSOLUTELY PUT UNNEEDED IRREVERSIBLE STRESS & DAMAGE on the hair follicles? If you notice that gray hair breaks off faster than the natural hair color. So on top of all of these things that cause hair thinning, as we turn gray, our hair WILL become more brittle than before. Notice how people over age 45 to 50 start to wear scarves or headbands to coverup the permanent alopecia damage that their locs have caused. Notice their siblings (same hair, same hair genetics) who DO NOT WEAR LOCS or BRAIDS don't have the extensive alopecia. Anyone who WANTS to SOLVE any problem MUST be honest with themselves and consider any and all origins, and daily habits of a problem to SOLVE the problem. This includes recognizing that just because you (me) like something, doesn't mean it is good for us in the end. The "price" (permanent damage or unnecessary self inflicted baldbess) MAY BE TOO HIGH. Don't wait for a "loc-ologist, loc-tician" "braid expert," to have this dicussion with you. They have a MAJOR conflict of interest. Look at the black women with hip length hair, (not biracials), NONE of them wear locs or braid extentions. The FEW hip length box braid wearers, only wear them for 2 to 4 weeks at a time, and not back to back. They never allow their hair to get matted up and they don't allow too much tension against their follicles. But I fully realize that most loc wearers are on a different planet and some of them have even gotten violent over ANY criticism of how locs can cause baldness. All that matters is GROWING locs even if you only wind up with 3. Ok, got it ! 🤪
