    I'm on almost day 40 (38) and the thing I love the most aboutbeing sober are these: --Mostly better sleep. Its not perfect yet, but I will say waking up sober just cannot be understated. I LOVE waking up sober. Best part of sleeping for me. -Extra money. 14 dollars a day! Every 10 days was $140 bucks! Every month (including going out and drinking at restaurants) was about $500 Dollars! I now spend my money on better coffee, teas, other things that I neglected -General feeling better and well being. I don't have that thick head in the mornings anymore. Nor do I have the sluggish feelings. Don't get me wrong. I still get tired, but its not hangover tired.. very different and much more tame. Hangover tired is awful. I'm sure more things will unfold as time goes on, but for right now at day 38-- I am really enjoying the time, sleep and extra money 100%

    bravo Robert for quitting and having the courage to share your story. I am 46 years old and was a heavy daily drinker for 25 years, im talking 15-20 beers a day and hard stuff also. I am 6 weeks sober today and did it all on my own, call it willpower if you want but I just realized alcohol was killing me and ruining my life and I was tired of it. I dont even think about alcohol anymore its not even an option on the table for me. my life has improved dramatically in the past 6 weeks its quite amazing. I wish I had quit years ago but I look forward to many happy and healthy years ahead, looking forward to the future is something I never did when I was a drunk, I just cared about making sure I had enough alcohol to get through the day. god is it great to have that monkey off my back I feel free and like a new man. thanks for the vids Leon they help me and many others. stay sober everyone.

    I was told by a member of AA that my 2 wine bottles a night wasn't that bad and that I should just try moderate drinking and I don't have a problem. That experience alone made me stay away from there. Almost a year sober on my own with support for KZreadrs and reddit users.

    even though stopping drinking does not prevent bad events from happening, you do take them differently, maybe more positively and neutrally, and not in a depressed way .... just my 2 cents

    Congratulations Robert on being 5 months sober. And thanks for sharing your story. Leon, I have watched every video you've rolled out since I quit drinking almost 5 months ago. If I wasn't able to quit on my own, I would have definitely signed up for your online course. I know the reason why I was able to quit on my own was because I have a KZread channel (how to with Paul Henderson) and I was able to post my recovery process. I believe it wasn't for that outlet that I had because, I don't think I would have been able to do it. I feel awesome and I think I look a lot better, this is the best I have felt in years, I started going back to the gym in January and that feels great. Leon thanks for making these awesome videos, and if for some reason I fall off the wagon I definitely will sign up for your class.

    One better way of quitting is, how much it costs for alcohol just put that money into S&P 500 each time. everyone will be surprised it will be half of their wealth in 2 to 3 yrs. that will be the best motivation.

    Awesome video Leon! Quitting alcohol without attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings is possible, although it may require self-discipline, determination. Just follow these steps like, setting a clear goal, which will help you stay focused and motivated throughout your journey and educate yourself by learning about the negative effects of alcohol on your health, relationships, and overall well-being. Also seek support from loved ones and avoid certain people, places, or situations associated with substance use. Remember, quitting alcohol is a personal journey, and what works for one person may not work for another.👋❤

    2 rehab centers, kicked out the 1st bc I relapse. My 2 wine box a week was overpowering. It's been over a year. Haven't had a drink at home, at restaurants. Etc. My main motivation is my daughter. Shes going to college soon and I dont want her hanging around guys like me. 😢 my old me. U see a drinker...run. get away. There is a difference bc meeting an alcoholic, vs one who develops it over time. Me, I never drank. Nobody in my family drink. My wife side...different story. Huge sports followers, parties every weekend, bbq, etc.

    @Leonsylvester I have an honest question that I am really hoping you can help me with. I have heard numerous times from legit sources that 1 or 2 drinks a day would be beneficial for the heart. Can you please tell my why this would be wrong information? I do want to stop completely as it would save me a lot of money but would I be hurting myself if I stopped cold turkey?

  • @declankelly9829

    @declankelly9829

    2 ай бұрын

    Part of the problem is that you think of your source as "legit" . Why?... because the person is a doctor perhaps?... and a drinker him/her self. How can a glass with poison in it be beneficial to the heart? The heart doesn't like being poisoned. Yes... one or two glasses of grape juice a day would be good for the heart... but turn that into wine... and it now has 10 to 14 percent poisonous ethanol in it and the heart does not appreciate that. There in lies the lie. Your "source" did not tell you that ethanol is poisonous... because your source does not want to stop drinking it. Your source is an addict but may not know it. Try one or two shots of bleach a day and see what your heart has to say.

    Well, Bukowski was a Drunk, after all... And as far as the conclusion, after watching it back earlier today, I agree it hit the nail on the head, but it just happened to work out that way -- wasn't planned at all. That's just where Leon decided to end it. Thank you for the kind words, It makes all the difference.

    I am well impressed with you stopping totally, as drink was in every part of your life, although that quantity of licor would have killed me long ago. I'm 40 days clean after 45 years pretty much daily beers or wine. But I get it. I can't afford Leon's course, but watching all his stuff (and more) and at 67 booze starting to hurt, I totally get it and feel great about quitting. Any time u wanna chat...
