How I Pulled Off An Ocean's Eleven Style Heist | Minutes With |

Ойын-сауық

In this week's episode of Minutes With, we sat down with Terry Ellis, a reformed robber who pulled off a multi-million pound heist of the Verizon building in 2007. Terry discusses his early criminal career, the orchestrating of the heist the media dubbed the 'Real Ocean's 11, and his eventual journey to redemption.

British Bruce Willis. What a story. I've often sat at home or at work thinking about other people around the world going about their daily lives and often wondering if at that very moment someone was sat in a rented warehouse planning a heist or the likes. Im sure its not as glamorous as the movies portray it but what a ride. Thanks for sharing your story Terry. Sounds like you have it sussed and living your best life now. Good luck.

You said about a warehouse heist.. Taking it out of context slightly.. I used to work in a warehouse (I wont name it) but someone was arrested because they were caught stealing pallets on a night shift in a van.. Nobody suspected anything because the person who was in charge of that shift planned it.. They only got arrested because allocated pallets had gone missing (not just moved).. Security at that warehouse was dreadful anyway.. It was one of the workers that raised suspicion!..

The mental fortitude of maintaining your cool while under that kind of pressure is impressive, not to mention the fact that most normal people would come down with a severe case of spontaneous IBS! 🤣💩 I know there's going to be one of those 8 men reading these comments, no doubt in my mind that you're reading... I had to comment on this!! What a fantastic well spoken story.. the fact of the thought and the determination here is crazy. It was classed as impossible, but you made it possible. Nobody injured, only 2 people caught, nothing recovered. I mean this heist will forever go down in history. I’m glad I found this story being told by the man himself. Fascinating. I would say beautiful job and well done. As now I’m not longer a criminal myself or interact in criminality I shouldn’t congratulate you on a fine job. But this will forever be classed as the greatest heist in British history. What a brilliant insight. Take care and be safe.

Ive got suspended in school at year 3 in england for stabbing my bully for pulling my hair with a sharp pencil in his belly he cried like a bitch.! Not proud of it but i humbled him at a young age.! I believe he learnt a lesson not to F around with the silent kid & what his single mother tolerated others would not.! No FATHER FIGURE IS A BIG ISSUE THIS DAY AND AGE.!

LADbible, I'd expect Mr. Ellis would have prefered not to have been put in the position to enter his line of work in order to survive. Could you ask more questions about the circumstances that led there? That could really contribute to the discourse and understanding of how society pushes people to take such dangerous risks to live.

We need a new heist film based off of Terry’s experience and how the heist was part of a bigger picture played out by these giant banking fuckers. They don’t make these films anymore.

very 'honest' take at the end ; went thru loads of things earlier -but doesn't blame society , as has become the norm - or even justify by robbing rich banks .... "just a job" Reagan & Carter would have appreciated that

Jeez 1% of that cash would change our lives. But then again, i dont have 1% of the brain required to pull off a heist like this. Well deserved and well played. What a masterpiece of a job. I was wondering though, if no cash was recovered and if one’s already served their sentance, what does the law say about paying the money back? Surely, one would have to hide it forever while looking over their shoulder? You’re responding in comments saying life is peaceful for you now and it’s wonderful if that’s true. But theoretically speaking, would it really be that peaceful for a person who (theoretically) got away with the cash?
