    I have a similar setup. I just got a Bluetti AC240. Its has a 30 amp connection so I don’t need the adapter. I’ve been driveway testing. Can’t wait for real life use. Love your setup.

    Thanks for watching! Good luck with your search for a small rig for 2. If buying used, which I recommend, try for a pre-covid build, 2020 or earlier.Happy Camping!!!

    Liked the video and the solar setup. Have a small 265 amp hour Bluetti with a 100 watt fold up panel. Works great for the 12 volt electric blankets. Glad yo see you back of there.

    That Bluetti EB3A is a good little unit, glad to see you’re using an electric blanket to stay warm, works better than trying to heat the whole camper! Put a goose down comforter on top and you’ll never be cold again! Thanks for watching 🏕️

    We have a 2019 320 that we Boondock in for several days at a time too. With a few modifications for off road, we can get to very remote locations. We utilize a portable Zamp 95w solar panel which allows us to place the trailer in the shade when available. We are both fortunate to have the 3-way refrigerators that we can run on propane. BTW, Trailer manufactures like NDC (probably our next trailer) and XPlore mount solar above their roofs on a frame. Solar panels are far more efficient at dissipating heat with air rather then a roof directly below them. Keep enjoying the desert with your T@B !

    I have a small 2019 Geo Pro 12 SRK, no air but a mic, 3 way fridge, hot water (propane, electric) Maxair fan, TV, stereo, 20 gallon fresh water, a 20,000 but furnace (way over kill) and a 6 gallon grey tank and no bathroom. I bring that with me. I have a 100 watt panel on the top, factory installed and a 90 watt suitcase on the ground with a 40 foot cable so I can move it around while I'm in the shade. I have 2 lead acid 12 volt group 24 with a total of 160 ah which I have 80 ah accessible. They say not to go below 50% charge on lead acid. These batteries are now 6 years old and still have 100% charge, I do maintenance on them regularly. Anyway, I do the same as you to allow me to go to out of the way places to camp. I have 3 solar gens, 2 - 1000 watt (1500 watt inverter) 1 - 2000 watt (2000 watt inverter). All combined I have 3600 watts of storage but you only get 2900 watts usable. I use the solar gens to run many different appliances like, air fryer, fans, electric smokers etc. It has a rear kitchen but I prefer to cook away from the camper as I mostly camp in bear country and they love the smell of bacon, lol. I use the lead acid batteries during the day and switch the battery disconnect on to isolate these batteries and plug in the solar gens during the night and have never come close to running out of power. I bring a 400 watt portable solar panel to pump up the solar gen batteries back to full everyday. I'm pushing near 70 yrs and I love the camping life. I live in northern Alberta, Canada and the mountains and country side are beautiful for sure. Thanks for the video, I like the spots you go to, alway nice. Take care and stay safe.

    Great video! I’m getting a 2023 tab 320 boondocks…had the same idea to use a bluetti AC180…and will drop a battle born lithium in front…wondering if the bluetti will top off the rv battery while it’s plugged into the 30amp receiver.

    Great idea. I like the simplicity of how you handle the power needs. I assume when you plug in the Bluetti to your RV you would turn off the breaker to the RV's charger, so it doesn't drain it unnecessarily.

    Thanks for watching and the great comment. When I killed my lead acid battery I tried the Bluetti trick to get out camping while I thought about what to do. I didn’t turn off any breakers and didn’t notice any large drain. Since I installed lithium & extra solar I only use the Bluetti when I need 110v to work in the camper. My solar is working so well my batteries are always full so again, no drain but now I want to try again when the batteries are not 100%. Thanks again, I will never stop learning, Happy Camping 🏕️

    Are you talking about the camper converter? My understanding is most converters in rv’s are built for lead acid

  • @myshoeboxadventures

    @myshoeboxadventures

    Ай бұрын

    Yes, older converters are built for lead acid but they will charge your lithium up to 75 to 80 %. If you have solar panels and the sun is out they will charge the rest of the way to 100 %. I changed out my converter to one which charges lithium to 100 % so I’m covered in most situations. Thanks for watching and Happy Camping 🏕️

    Thanks for watching, great question. Wires went in just above the drivers side tail light. That is the side where the charge controller, fuse box, converter are located . I didn’t do the work myself, way above my skill level! Hope this helps, Happy Camping 🏕️

    I still have my Runaway and will always love that little camper but I have back issues and need something I can stand up in. Also planning much longer trips in the future and wanted a self contained unit. This is more than just a bed in a box, it has everything I need to be comfortable even in bad weather for extended periods of time and I love it! I’m still camping with my Runaway friends and will be attending the Circle the Wagon’s rally in Arizona next week! Thanks for watching and Happy Camping 🏕️
