Jess, Thank you so much for this video, It is extremely well done, great knowledge and tips on packing, much appreciated. I’ve been doing this since 1965 and find your system to be super helpful, I will be using much of your ideas & tactics. At my age I’m looking at stepping down from a large heavy sport tour to the CB500X or sim, Thanks again.

Very nice tips! Light weight equipment, especially on smaller motorcycles, is definitely the best way to go. Two things to consider are ratchet straps over the Rok straps (ratchet straps have multiple uses) and soft side saddle bags when you plan on riding more off road (greater risk of breaking a leg with hard cases).

Getting lighter equipment has made a difference. I'll look into some ratchet straps. Would definitely like some soft luggage. I really like the Mosko Moto luggage, but also looking at Wolfman and Giant Loop. You're right.... safety in off-road conditions is the biggest reason. Thank you for watching and the feedback 😊

I bought some ratchet straps a few years ago and I am amazed at how many ways I’ve used them. I just bought another set.

Are your saddlebag stays also GIVI or are they aftermarket? I'm just starting out on a 500X and trying to get the accessories to hold luggage.

  • @SoundMindADV

Yes, the luggage and all the racks are Givi. They have worked out great and have survived a few drops with no damage.

@@SoundMindADV Thanks for the reply! I just now ordered the GIVI pl1121cam rack and I'm excited to get that put on my little Honda once it comes in. Though I think I'm going to go a slightly different route for actual containers and use some old ammo cans instead of the GIVI boxes.
