Kudos to you, Mara. I just went through a similar experience. I dated a man who felt like an answer to everything I wanted. I began to love him but he broke up with me on New Year's Day. I am retired so I have time to indulge my feelings and not bury them like I used to. I cried everyday, middle of the night, watching a movie, hearing a love song, or having something remind me of him. Friends worried about me, everyone says forget him! but that is too harsh. I put him on a shelf in my heart for now and until I meet the right guy. I know it is all for the best but it still hurts. I am glad I got in touch with my feelings and found the courage to feel the pain. It is not easy but it has made me become a deeper and more loving woman.
