How I make notes using Notion | Active recall & spaced repetition
Hi! In this video I am using the two best techniques to study for exams: active recall and spaced repetition to organise my A-Level school notes in Notion. Notion is a free app, which you can download and use. I don’t write traditional hand-written notes, instead I used questions to cover all aspects of the course.
In this video I do an overview of Notion, the basics of Active recall and Spaced repetition and how I personally make notes using Notion.

@@ullisavitskaya3787 you are doing a great job
thanks for sharing these tips with us:) one thing i have been struggling the most is with the spaced repetition method because anki is a really good app to do that automatically for you but again for me i need to see all of the questions to make sense of the topic using notion if that makes sense. do you have any idea on how to implement the exact anki's spaced repetition technique on notion? (because like you i also use so much of that toggle features haha which means i have toggle under toggle and it weirdly makes complete sense to me and if i use anki i won't be able to use it + i don't want to use anki + notion together because as you said about always keeping up with notes - meaning it would require me to update notes on both anki + notion and as an incoming IB student, i am sure i won't have that much time or patience

yeh i think having both notion and anki is quite unnecessary. it’s difficult to implement anki’s speed repetition into notion just because obviously it’s an automated process. i used to have a database that told me when i should revise what in notion, but it took ages to make and if i didn’t study for one day things really piled up. so instead i just go through all the questions like 3-4 weeks before the exams. then 2 weeks before i go through the questions i got wrong (i highlight them in red). and i keep doing this until i know all questions. this isn’t as ideal as anki, but that means that i can revise all topics together at once in a chronological order which helps me build logical links rather than memorize random facts - very important for science. i hope that helped but you just gave me a video idea😂

3:36 how do you add handwritten notes?
One question before watching the video: Do you know Anki and what do you think of it? Notion and Anki isn't comparable but I struggle with the fact that Anki has automatic spaced repetition(which is great for me and makes the process so simple) but in Notion, you have everything in one place for your final exams and you can create pages in pages and toggles. (Additionally, I use GoodNotes 5 in class.) I can't decide or I am overwhelmed how to manage everything. In conclusion, it surely makes sense to use both but HOWWW? That can be so time-consuming. I am quite overwhelmed because I really love Anki but to join the dots using Notion can make more sense (referring to backlinks etc)

hi! i think a video talking about anki and notion would be quite good cuz you aren’t the first person who asked and i can’t fit my answer in one comment. but in a nutshell. you have to ask yourself, what’s more important for you? is it the spaced repetition automatic algorithm anki provides or the ability to have topics grouped together logically using toggles in notion? i personally don’t think you should use both cuz as you said it takes ages to do the notes and they do pretty much the same thing, it’s just about how you do it. what i don’t like about anki is that it takes random facts which can make all topics in science seem really detached whereas in reality they all come tgt nicely. and i also don’t like that i you miss one day, you have to catch up. i want to be able to take long breaks. i use good notes in class too but handwriting notes takes ages trust me😂. i hope this helped, i will try and make a video about it. but please don’t worry! you’ll figure it out once you get there and see what works for you :)
@ullisavitskaya3787

also as a side note. i do not have the motivation to do anki cards every day and i absolutely salute those that do😂. i like any normal human being cram before exams, but what i do that others don’t is i understand the info and link it all together with logixal links which means i don’t even have to study cuz i know it all already. and notion helps so much with that because of the pages and tables and stuff. just another reason i don’t use anki. but you should try both out and see which one works more for you!
your voice is really nice :)

Notion is too much overhyped. All data is with 3rd party. One day i suddenly lost my data & couldn't retrieve it. All my hardwork gone. Never trust a app which stores data in 3rd party.
