    Hunter, I prayed for you tonight brother. Idk how God be blessing me with ceramic and paint correction Jobs and you my brother have been hustling and bustling. I’m praying for your breakthrough and that God gives you a break from detailing. You need to take care of your family, yourself, your soul and mental mind. I pray that all the favor that’s happening to me, would be even more so to you. That my breakthrough is available for you by faith. I know you’ll have a breather soon. Just wait and see.

    Hi Elvis, I'm in Seattle metro - Eastside. This is just something that I observe. I don't actually ask people what they want. I just assume they don't care since the cars are filthy looking in this area. Maybe they secretly do, but don't have the time.

    Pretty good setup, I detail out of a sedan which I use for personal and business but instead of getting a wrap. Try car magnets, that is what I use you can get numerous sizes you can take them on and off if needed. They are also cheaper than wraps while serving the same purpose. I have one on driver and passenger side doors, and one on my trunk.

    Congrats on all your success! Everyone needs to remember that each detailer/business is in its own unique situation. I honestly say don't hate on another Detailer for charging less or cheaper. Yes he might be making very little money and working harder. Or he can be ahead of the game with little to no overhead and making more Net profits than you. I have a feeling LA is putting more money in his pocket Per detail than Hunter since it seems like he has very little overhead. Don't just focus on charging more, focus on reducing expenses too.

    Here's my 2cents, for whatever that is worth. Don't be afraid to do some partially discounted or even free work for relatives and friends. Use these details to take lots of really high quality pictures of before and after and throw them up on your site. Then have these same people leave you reviews. Build yourself up and build confidence in your work at the same time. Also, once you're ready, focus your advertising in the neighborhoods with money. Let these people know you value their time as much as they do.

    This. This is what I love about you Wayne. You saw a need and someone that couldn't address it and helped out with a compromise. Sometimes it's that simple. God bless. Edit: Also as a tip, there's actually some quick detailers with anti-static properties that can help break the static bond when you get one of those pet hair messes that doesn't want to cooperate. There's even some dedicated products made for it but I've never tried them personally and the one that comes to mind is a company that I'm not sure what to think of yet as far as quality products or just more Instagram marketing hype (Sud Factory - Fuzz off). There's also some stuff in the laundry aisles at most big box stores but it's made more for clothing and stuff so idk how well it would work on the carpet fibers. Anyway it's not like one of those game changer things but it's helped me out a couple times and I don't mind throwing down a few quick spritzes of a quick detailer on the carpets if it'll save me 15 minutes. P&S Paint Gloss is great for it supposedly but if you need something in a pinch I've also used chemical guys lucent spray with decent results and AutoZone almost always has it.

    Dropping prices for people gives them the back hand to slap you with when they try justifying why your prices are too high at the end of the job, they start picking at your work cause to them your not worth it. So they find everything they can to show why they are right. I shut them down immediately. Had a guy ask me if I remember him, I was confused. He says i quoted him last year 250 for his beat up camry that needed a full Detail but I was too expensive, could I give him a better price. I said exactly this "Nah I can't it's actually 350 now" and he laughed and said "wew your expensive, for the rich people huh" and I said "no, for people who find value in the professional work I do" and I walked away. Oddly enough he called me a week later to negotiate again and I hung up on him. If I had given him a discount he would be poking his finger in every crevice to find more stuff for me to clean... no thank you sir

  • @abcdefggg5658

    @abcdefggg5658

    Yep. I gave a guh a discount for his 21 Range Rover. Fuc*ked up bc he did exactly that. Poked his fonger in every crevice and wanted literally everything when he payed $150 instead of $300. I learned to value myself. Those are the worst customers ever.

    Man your prices are so wild to me, but I have to remind myself you are in California. I’m on the east coast in the south doing full size SUV detail inside and out for $100 and have to convince people it’s worth it because the mobile wash guy is doing a basic wash and vacuum for $40

  • @iosgaminggeek5395

    @iosgaminggeek5395

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah 100$ for inside and out is still hella cheap. You need to get that mindset of competing with those 40$ detailers. In reality, they’re not detailers, and explain that to your customers. Those are just regular car washers. You minimum inside and out detail should be 100 for sedans. Shampooing would obviously be more. For suv, I’d say 150 minimum for basic inside and out. You have to understand, your BASIC doesn’t mean it’s basic like a car wash. You basic, should be a “detailed” basic still. Simply no shampooing, but everything else done right and thorough. Car washes are just patch work. Detialing means detailing every inch still. Those dude that do 30 min details, aren’t detailers, they’re car washers and car cleaners. Also, I’m in South Carolina. One of the most southern states, and cheapest cost of living. Our gas prices are usually the cheapest out of all states. And I still charge more than you. Like I said, it’s all about explaining what you are and what you do, and advertising to the right ppl. Go to car lots or dealers. Go to as many Facebook community groups in your city and post daily. Or other group chat community sell groups. Flyers don’t work. And then, the main key is, just do a damn good job. You’ll be rewarded with more customers. And ask each customer to recommend you.

If each person takes a wage of $30 /hr. , your cost is already $60 before you add costs like chemicals and transportation getting there . Then there's a portion of your monthy nut costs like office electric, phone, insurance , equipment repairs , uniforms, laundry , advertising .... I think you ended up owing HER money . These days, a typical detail is $400 and up .
