How I made a fused glass dreamcatcher! | Glass art project
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This week's Fused Glass Friday project is a dreamcatcher! I've used glass elements as well as thread and beads to create this mixed media piece.
All glass is COE 96 compatible and fired using the auto settings in my Skutt kiln, unless otherwise stated.

The quill of the feather is the middle bit. 👍
You are going to think I am absolutely bonkers but I have this thing...about untying knots...I hate puzzles but luv knots😂
A dream catcher was a wonderful idea and you executed it beautifully.

I don’t!
Beautiful! I have to go back & watch the feathers…. My screen is small & it made it difficult. They are amazing 😉 Great job! ☺️
I thought the dream catcher was darling. I loved how you made the feathers they looked almost real. Nice work!

Thanks! Idk about the patience haha!
I love this! Not sure I could do the weaving. I have no favorite Steven King book as I love them all! My late husband and I read the Dark Tower series together so they are at the top. This was a great project. Thanks for sharing it.
This dream catcher came out so cool. I chuckled at your struggles to tie the string. Not laughing at you but with you. I’m left handed and my husband can’t always follow my way of doing things. But in my opinion it’s the end result that matters regardless of how you got there. Well done Alison.

I was also laughing at my struggles while I was editing 😆 that’s why I kept them all in! In retrospect I’m surprised I didn’t chuck the whole thing across the room

@@EquinoxGlass I just enjoy watching you create beautiful things. I’m glad you left your string mess in the video. It added to the final video you posted and shows you do silly things like the rest of us. Lol
I love the mat you're working on. May I ask the manufacturer? You have given me so many ideas. Nice video.

Thank you! It's a self healing rotary cutting mat, I got mine on amazon.
I love this idea. My cat has torn up two dream catchers. This would be a great alternative. But I’m out on all that knotting!

Hi there. I always enjoy your videos. I notice you don’t build on a kiln shelf. How do you transfer your work onto one so successfully?

Hi there! I keep my kiln shelf on top on a rolling cart that I can move close to my work table and do a slide from the table to the shelf. I then carry the shelf out to my garage where my kiln is.
Beautiful! What is that second tool you use to clip around the edges of the feathers? Is that just a growing pliers? You make it look so easy. Mine never works like that! 🤷🏼♀️

Thank you! I talk about and put links to all the tools I use in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kXZlt9icgq-xZ9Y.html I’ve had 15+ years of practice, it wasn’t always so easy!
