    Omg same. I am just trying to wait for a growth spurt, try to run everyday, or stop eating so much sugar. I was naturally born with a slimmer figure so it makes me so frustrated

    Lipto Murphy u only had big quads bcs u didnt work in the right way, u need to stretch a lot, and think of growing, so u dont build big muscles

    with ggukkie yes from what I understand is that it could be the teacher. It teaching about which leg muscle should be activated to perform the move or it could be the dancer not taking the correction. If you see a room full of dancers with big quads, it’s the teacher not training correctly. If you see 1 or 2 with big quads then it’s likely the student doing it incorrectly. We are going through this issue with my daughter. I’m one year with a new trainer her quads grew which is not what you want in ballet. We figured out it was the way the teacher was training. She’s now having to learn to activate the right muscle. It’s hard to retrain because of muscle memory and habit. She’s going to a stretch coach and PT to help but it’s going to be hard...once you build up that bulk it’s hard because she can’t just stop her training (and using her legs).

    Seems like a lot of us 5’2 people have this prob :c HEY 5’2 PEOPLE, MIGHT HAVE A SOLUTION!! after my whole life of suffering with the thigh/knee fat, MINE IS COMING OFF! But only after I started riding a bike! And working my “inner thigh”!! Before I only ever did the basic squats! DO WHAT U WILL WITH THIS!! I was stuck at 126-130 forever even with harder workouts and clean eating, and now I eat bad in moderations and only bike ride a few times a week and work inner thighs added in 3ish times a week at least. I’m 117!!!

    It’s because the legs are so short any ounce just doesn’t disperse well lol. Esp if legs shorter than torso. I have a very long torso for height and it’s also very boyish shaped - straight so my lower area which is lets just say very Italian is soooo disproportionate. Like pick. If Im gonna be curvey I want an hour glass and at least some boob. If Im gonna be boyish on top, let me be boyish on the bottom too . Not randomly both at Once yet not in the flattering way lol

    Summary of this video: For the diet: High protein diet, you’ll lose muscle but also fat. High quality protein (turkey, salmon, cod...). You will then have to recover from the diet, you will have to reverse diet and build calories. I need to say that this is highly unhealthy if you don’t have the resources to have professionals around you. You should not do any extreme diets like that, instead just watch your portion and eat a little less unhealthy (while still eating what you like !!). You cannot force a spotted deficit, if you lose weight you’ll lose overall weight, but you can spot muscle formation so maybe if you want lean thighs do less squats. She talks a lot about deficit calories but don’t go to extreme lengths, you will gain weight if you start eating a little more. About cardio: If you don’t like to run you can just walk. Here she did a lot of training because she had a lot of muscles she wanted to lose if it is not your case AND you are not used to do a lot of sports you can take it slow !!

    Definitely reverse dieting is such a key factor during my journey I kept messing up bringing up my mantinence calories steadily and ended up gaining the weight back. So definitely making a plan or listening to a professional to make a plan for reverse dieting helps sm

    i can loose weight on my stomach so much it doesn’t matter how much work i do on my legs NOTHING WORKS :( UPDATE: guys it’s been like 1 year i’m writing now on the 16th jan 2022 but i just wanna say if you are serious about loosing weight, the only way you are going to see progress is in a calorie deficit and exercising properly. so far i’ve lost over 30+lbs and i feel better than ever

    I would recommend going on a calorie deficit because it helps you loss weight. You want to target the fat on ur stomach so the best way to do this is by losing weight (although you cannot spot reduce fat) :)))

    I have thick overly muscular legs, and I’ve always been looking for solutions to this. However there are not really a helpful information out there, and I thought maybe I should give up on the idea of slimming gown legs as it seems impossible .     Hey something that I’ve found works well for muscular thighs is just walking and stretching! Make sure you do that too, it makes it a lot better!

    I recommend Rachel Attard!! She breaks it down quite easily. 1. Power walking to replace all exercise..not at an incline either. No hard cardio, plyos, etc. i do walking and mat pilates. 2. Diet is important but fdont stress out about it!!! Hormons play a large part of youR health and Starving yourself will not help. 3. Realize that this will take time. Like, 6months or more to see a difference. So be patient and enjoy just living your life.

    Emmanuella Alice Jogging is fine although you may still bulk out if you are an endomorph, so if I were you, I would only jog once a week at a consistent pace (no inclines) and brisk/power walk 3-4 times a week 8-10k each time). This is your LISS and will complement any other training you do. I do this as well as a lot of pilates and core and back strengthening. I strength training my upper half but not my bottom half. I do HIIT only once a week so my cortisol levels aren’t affected and I stay away from anything that bulks. I do a lot of intense bridge stuff, weighted donkey kicks and Pilates mat work. X

    Same I was always skinny and my parents would let me eat what I want and sometimes say I was skinny but now they try to encourage me to lose weight and say things like you should eat less pasta and more meat and you need to excersize to lose weight so my insecurities went up and now I want to lose weight so they would just shut up

    This is exactly what I was looking for! I have very large quads and I'm also very petite (barely 5'2 with a small frame) and I've been looking into slimming down my legs since it honestly makes my body look disproportionate. Every article I've found has just said stuff like "love your strong quads and work it girl!" and it's so annoying. I've been doing cardio while eating at a deficit (since I also want to reduce my body fat) and my thighs have slimmed down but not that much yet. I've had to experiment quite a bit with different workouts and this video helped me see what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong

    i have bulky thighs but also have fat. i recently realized how big/unproportioned my legs are to my skinny upperbody. Does walking alot and decreasing calorie intake help slim down legs and get rid of fat withough bulking up?

    from what I've seen from the comments, bicycling and walking/jogging helps a lot! and these are also really simple things that don't require a shit ton of motivation. you can take a walk while listening to your favorite music on a chill evening or go jogging with a friend, and if you're going somewhere then bring that bike! make it a part of your life, don't think of it as exercising

    FINALLY SOMEONE I CAN RELATE TO! Just like she said I as well gain muscle in my thighs very fast and very easily. I'm a dancer so using your legs is something I do quite often. Because of this though, I feel like my thighs have gotten too big.... and its unproportional. I also can't really go on walks in shorts anymore because my thighs rub together like no other! I've tried powders and creams to prevent chafing but I just wanna solve the problem all around. I honestly wouldn't mind it too much if the fat on my inner thighs would just go away :(

    I'm 5'1" and have had small waist and large thighs and butt since I hit puberty 30 years ago. I will say this: extra fat and fluids trapped in your fascia on top of the muscle and under the skin is mistaken for 'bulky muscle" that most women think they have. That is what makes thighs look so large usually, not the muscle tissue itself. Even if you have a dominantly muscular build, look at all body types of women (whether tall or short, long legs, short torso, or short legs longer torso) who have very little body fat enough to see visible muscle tone, the appearance of "bulky" thighs is not visible and legs that may have more muscle as long as they are proportion with the rest of the body appear leaner and longer. What finally helped me slim down my thighs was to do exercises that athletes who develope that body shape do. For example, dancers are very muscular and toned, but not "bulky". You can build muscle strength WITHOUT build muscle MASS. That's the key. You will still burn fat without wasting or having to lose muscle. I am a yoga teacher. Pilates, Barre, and Yoga made me Strong, but I became thinner and leaner visually. The first thing I did to drastically impact the size of my "thick thighs" was walking For one hour a day. Yes. Long Walks (Not running nor jogging). That's it! I don't Waste Time Counting Calories. The Quality of my Food Is Much More important Than Calorie counting. But no disrespect To The Creator Of This Video And her advice. I just Wanted To Offer an Alternative Option for those Desperate To Seek Results And don't Believe They can change Their body. Especially If you're Below Average Height and that unattractive 'Stalky' look Won't Seem To Go Away. I'm 42 And have Been Active And dancing most Of My Life And not just For me, But many other women I know 5'3" And below With Same issues Found Results From What I did. Hope This Helps someone.     You’re exactly right, 6 months of barre completely changed my body. And I also realized that if I did 10 mile walks (approx 3 hrs/day), then I NEVER needed to count calories (only did this for a week though because i was sight seeing on vacation). One day, I saw a barre instructor and wanted HER body so I just did what she did. Exactly what you said 🙌🏽

    Damnnn I just came across your channel yesterday and watched your masterclass. I almost purchased the program but wanted to do a bit more research since my goal really is to lose some muscle and fat in my thighs, and was surprised to hear that cardio isn’t the way to go.     I’m happy I am not alone , I’ve had muscle legs since little because I was a jimnist when I was little . But I quit and later in middle school I saw those skinny girls and omg how I wished a was them . That turned out on full blown being depressed and insecure about how I look and still the same right now in high school😕

    Thank you for sharing this. It is brave. As a former competitive athlete, I had to come to the same conclusion in a healthy manner of what body composition served me most with where I am today. Like you, the conclusion was that often times that extra muscle does not serve you. It is tough to feed that muscle and keep your body toned when you are not engaging in high intensity athletics 4-7 times a week. The general fitness rhetoric has not been nuanced enough to address this particular pain point for former athletes, so I really appreciate you bringing this content to KZread.

    Another ex full time dancer here! I'm very happy to have received this at the right time. I currently have a calorie intake at about 1,700 and have daily cardio in my job. My food diary shows that I need to replace my complex carbs with proteins (at least 50% more protein in my diet! Crazy how lax I've been with what I'm eating!) And potentially reduce down the calories gradually. I also very rarely feel thirsty, so I think that's where I'm feeling tired from also. I've gotta up my intake by 1-2Litres daily! How have I even made it this far without drinking properly?? 😅😅 I do need to increase my muscle mass via weight training in the rest of my body, and I think after all of these subtle changes on paper, I should feel a lot better about my body. This is just my plan for me, I know it varies to everyone else. Thank you, I'm really glad to have found your videos after struggling with various methods for far too long

    My thighs have slimmed down since eating good and exercising for four weeks now but I am impatient haha but I need to be patient!!!! I noticed actual weight loss on the 7th week of me running everyday(mostly) and doing HIIT. So I will be adding in HIIT.

    Literally all my fat goes to my thighs and recently my lower belly. I’m working on exercising for health opposed to loosing weight because it’s not mentally sustainable for me but if I can add some thigh slimming to it why not? I have a lot of digestive issues so I really try not to take for granted when I can move so I am feeling so grateful.

    Thank you, I couldn't even get a sports doctor to help me with this, they look at you like you have two heads. I used to do contracting (my company was remodeling/ building), I'm 4'11" so I ended up building way too much muscle, and I've been dealing with the extra ever since.

    Summary: calorie deficit, high protein if you are not trying to lose muscle all around because you can’t spot reduce muscle or fat (fish, salmon, cod, ground turkey. Focus on protein and veggies) , squat lower weight higher rep as cardio, continued lifting as normal in other areas She didn’t want to lose muscle, stay hydrated (gallon), continue balanced diet of carbs healthy fats & protein each meal, don’t drop calories too low this will ruin metabolism . Low intensity steady cardio if you want to lose thighs and increase time (20 Min a day each week > 45 minutes over 8 weeks). Cardio will allow you to eat more calories while in a deficit so you can feel satiated

    People call me fat when they see my legs but as soon as my stomache or ribs are shown I'm called ribby and told to eat more, if your loosing weight do it for yourself because I've done everything and still get battered for my body. I don't like my body at all which is why I'm working out to get rid of my thighs and try to lengthen my core just know you need to put in the work to see the results. In 2 weeks you'll feel it in 4 weeks you'll see it in 8 weeks you'll hear it there's a reward for everything loose weight healthily and well, you have all got this I belive in you

    Your advice that HIIT training will make you lose muscle seems counterintuitive to the logic of fast and slow twitch muscle fibres. If you don’t know what that means, it refers to fast and slow activating muscles, which sport you do will train different things. Short track runners will have big bulky muscles (fast twitch). And long distance marathon runners will have skinny legs (slow twitch) so they can be lighter.

    honestly gaining weight during puberty was really hard for me mentally as i was used to being a skinny little midget that did competitive gymnastics and ate what she wanted but had a small appetite anyway i quit gymnastics, couple years later puberty hit me like a bus and everyone also made fun of me for how little i ate and the fact that i got full so quickly. then weight gained happened and a few years later, i am obsessive about looking in the mirror and i have disordered eating patterns. shit.

    If you want to lose legs fat, try walking, a small deficit, a little cycling but slow pace, do low intensity cardio that will help you to avoid getting bulky legs and lose the fat in them but overall STRECH AND MASSAGE your legs and calves there are many videos on legs stretching for losing some inches as well in the calves and they work wonders

    I was in a restrictive diet for almost 8 months and now binging since August coz I nearly lost my period. However, even during my restrictions, my thighs didn't slim down that much maybe because I used to do hiit alot :) Yes, my pants became a little bit loose but the progress was too slow. And my calves became muscular. I tried to jog every weeks at least 1 to 2 times and I noticed that it actually helped slimmed down my legs even tho I'm still binging on and off. But, I haven't got the chance to do that much cardio again and now idk what to do with my legs 🙂

    Hi, I have a question! I am petite, 5'2 and notice i have a large amount of muscle in my thighs. I would like to lose muscle in my thighs so they could be average and look proportional to the rest of my body, you know. I do not have a problem with a caloric deficit, however I am confused with the workout part. I do not ever walk or exercise incline because it really hurts my calves, so I usually just do like 2 miles fluctuating from a 6 to an 8 on the treadmill. Does this work for losing muscle in my thighs? Also I'm worried about my metabolism slowing down and me not being able to lose fat as well because I'm currently trying to do that to. ANy tips on how to not make my metabolism slow down?

    For the metabolism thing try carb cycling, it's pretty much altering days of low carb and high carb, this will make your metabolism go faster because it will never adjust to a certain diet (example eating low carb everyday will make your metabolism slow down because it gets adjust to it, if you give him 2 days of low carb and one day of high carb it will always have to work, idk if I explained myself) anyway do your research on it and you'll have a better explanation. For the workout part, if you dont want to build muscle just don't train legs, just walk a lot and they will slim down. Sorry for my english xx

    I'm a tree planter and I do a lot of hiking and mountain climbing 5 days a week, and my legs are VERY developed. I love my thighs and calves, but sometimes I think about reducing them a bit. Problem is.... I can't because of my job hahaha.

    Dear girls... Just to clear things up... If you do any leg workout you're only building the muscles... so visually it will make you "fat" so running can help but if you have built muscle before (I was a tennis player for 10yrs) it will be VERY difficult to brake the muscles and slim the legs 😔 Just being honest. We have different bodies so everything you see on KZread doesn't mean that it will work for you, unfortunately. However hugs to all 🤗

    @@Jennifer-op5km Hey dear Jennifer! As a former pro athlete I suggest avoiding sports that are squats related or in other words too much leg exercises. Tennis, cycling, although for some (very skinny girls who need muscle strength, for those... in matter of fact all sports are beautiful) But like I said in my first post... yea, sports that include too much leg activity is a no! Just think simple, the more you build that muscle the more wider it will look... Running and tuna + salads (without too much dressing) CAN help, lots of water too. Overall, clean diet and running. If you like the gym so much be careful of leg exercises, do them but avoid too many. Sure you can do squats but do max 10 in 5 days or a week. With squats you get bigger - anything... 😔 It looks nice YES but not all of us has the same "before" and "after" picture therefore we can generalise all the body shapes and do the same exercises and expect the same result. For skinny girls with very little muscle mass, squats are brilliant, but for girls with Wider hips, bigger thighs - NO or again, you're only gaining more muscle which will create bulkier legs 😑 So, running, clean diet and good luck. 🤗 ❤

    I wanted to tone up, I'm an active runner, so I started upping my protein and doing a lot of weight training. It totally backfired. I went up two pants sizes but my waist stayed the same. It looks like saddle bags and it not balanced, so I'm going to start this, I'll update in a few months!

    Hi April, I have a question: I always hear "you have to be in a slight caloric deficit" but what is a bullet proof way to assess your caloric need, in order to then subtract? I am definitely not a tall person, but I used to be a competitive swimmer, thus my body has a lot of muscle. I don't really think 1300 kcal is enought. Let alone cutting from there. Any help?     I am 5'1 currently at 140lbs. I was always 115 to 130lbs! Professional dancer & personal trainer. I had my son a year ago..my body is slowly going back to how it was but that stomach & legs/ass is not the same!!! At 130 i was in great shape/muscular so i filled out good.     @@joey81 hi there. What are you doing to target your obliques? Look up "the vacuum " exercise on KZread. It's basically drawing your bellybutton into your spin while breathing, holding it for 10 to 20 secs. Helps tighten the abdominal recti

    @@joey81 if you're using weight while doing these exercises, yes it can kind of bulk your abs out. Stick to body weight. Thats alot of reps and time going into your workouts!! I'd suggest strength training a few days a week along with cardio. Eat a balanced meal as well. Calories in, calories out!

    Update, i am now 131-133lbs. I am losing weight very slowly but I'm doing everything "right". Eating healthy & tracking my calories, along with working out 4 to 5x a week. I'm pretty much back to my pre pregnancy weight but still have stubborn fat in some areas!! Progress not perfection 🤞🌹

    How did you find a coach who was able to accommodate such a specific goal? I just finished my last season of competitive volleyball and have have been trying to find a coach that will help me with muscle recomposition but they keep telling me that I'm naturally quad dominant (even if I was sedentary)

    What do you think about running or jumping rope? Are those cardio exercises fine to do if I wanna slimmer my thighs? I’m a runner and it’s gonna be hard for me if I have to not run on my weekly basis at least..

    I’m 163 cm and weigh 130 lbs. the majority of my weight comes from my thick legs even though my arms are extremely slim. I need a lot of help shredding them fast.
