I grows back. Most people cut the tail off which does not grow back, so this is better I think.

Just leaving it on the hook as bait would be better than removing the stinger. Step on the tip of its tail and with a pair of leather gloves grab the stinger and the tail similar to what you would do with a catfish and release it that way

@@VitalyMack No. Its really is the law around the world fault. Unlike USA or EU most of the world dont have any regulation over fishing... here in Indonesia alone basicaly every men that live near water is a fisherman and they dont give a f about enviroment. Overfishing while throwing polution around. Hunting using toxic substance and electricity is also common. Theres no mega company fishermen here only a f ton of small to medium sized local fishermen. And im guessing this applies to most of the SE asia country since we are basically the same people just diffrent region Also some fishing laws that ive seen like in USA is quite bad. Why do they have small size regulation and not big size regulation. If they know anything about adaptation the smaller fish genome will likely become benificial and in the future big fish will become scarse and eventually gone replaced by smaller thriving fish if its keeps up.
