This is so smart! Stingrays are tricky to unhook and this is a great solution

Great idea. I caught my first stingray last night and decided I didn’t like worrying about getting hit by the tail. The tool hook idea looks perfect. Thanks for the video.

Finally somebody who actually addressed this problem! I was thinking about this kind of tool and wondering why nobody else is using this, instead they flip the stingray and hope not to get struck or just cut the line. This is by far the best way

Definitely heading to the hardware store right now to make one of these! Being able to pin the tail of the stingrays is surely going to make unhooking them much safer, thanks for the tip!

I'll be building one of these! One thing that may make this easier: if you put some liquid dish soap on the threads of the hooks, they go on easier, are less likely to split the wood, and will cause the wood to swell onto the threads as it dries holding them tighter.

I think the bare wood will have more grip. Try sport tape.

Yes, and a God loving good dude. I love when he puts different baits on with the go pro on the line to see how the fish react. That's pretty innovative what you got there also.
