I dont think that saving money will help you get a 230k portfolio. I am working here as a fulltime engineer. I need atleast 10 years to have such a portfolio. Maybe its more about having multiple soirce of income.

For example, the company(huge Multi-national company) that I joined is paying me and a masters student from TUM the same. My university is ranking no one in the world ranking. Its more about skills that you posses and the stuff that you did during your period at college. For instance, I did alot of internship and my thesis in the same field that I am working right now. Hamburg is a beautiful and big city, if I were in your place, I would come to hamburg hands down
