Thanks for the video! It's nice to see somebody with a similar score as mine and who gets the fact I'm just an average joe. I'm not crazy smart and other videos were quite frustrating to watch, seeing as these people were clearly good at test taking, academics, or both. If you don't mind me asking 1) How long did it take to see improvement, 2) Did you look at the incorrect answers and study how to do them (Like YT videos, etc)? I'm not sure just seeing what I got wrong would help rather than understanding why

Hey man! I definitely feel you on the test-taking front, so I'm trying to show that hard work will beat out smarts any day. At first it was honestly very frustrating because it took me a solid month or so to actually make any visible progress but I promise you that if you keep going, it gets exponentially easier. The more you do the easier it gets, but those first few weeks are very tempting to quit. Just keep going through it no matter what!! As far as checking answers go, the book I used had solutions in the back, and if it was a vague answer I would use youtube or google and take notes on concepts onto a separate "cheat sheet list" to help me retain fixes to common mistakes I would make.
Thanks so much brother

Staying consistent was the biggest thing for me. Whether I had a great day or a terrible day, I still showed up and studied EVERYday, so by doing it regardless of how I felt, the information stuck a lot better. Also, if you take every test in that book, you'll recognize the patterns in the questions so it becomes second nature to answer the easy ones.

Use the Khan Academy free test prep, if you can! I really enjoyed using their materials, as they test your overall skill and then recommend sections that need work on. It’s really great, and you can set up study plans directly through it. Overall I recommend studying at least 6-8 hours a week (60-80 minutes per day for 6 days, leaving a break day) if that’s possible. An hour or more of studying a day can go a long way in improving your memory while not overwhelming you. Memorize important math formulas, read books / essays / passages if you can, and refresh on English grammar rules. Try doing a timed practice test at the end of every week
@israelt3257

@@iirose_sniper for the ACT?
@iirose_sniper
11 ай бұрын
@@israelt3257 It’s designed for the SAT, but the overall math skills / concepts can be carried over to the ACT. Grammar and reading can also be improved through it, even though it’s not *exactly* designed for the ACT. If you’d feel better with actual ACT studies, look up old practice tests, print them, and time yourself as you do them! Circle any question you don’t know how to solve off the top of your head (you don’t have to know the answer immediately, but you SHOULD immediately know the steps you need to take to solve it) and come back to it at the end and try and solve it. It’s not worth your time trying to solve one problem you don’t know while running out of time to solve more questions you potentially *do* know further into a section. When you’re done with the practice test section as a whole, go back to the circled questions and ask yourself “what was this question asking?” and “what do I need to know to solve this?” and then study the material in your weak points. It’s a bigger waste of time studying in an area you are already good at, so focus on ways you can find cracks and weak points in your performance, and work on improving those! Definitely take a few practice ACT’s before the real deal. Practice pacing yourself, because time is a killer on these tests! Best of luck! ❤️

Hey, just want to know how liberal and woke are universities from your perspective.
@nickasher8042
2 жыл бұрын
It really depends. You’ll have some very far left colleges like any of the UC’s and then right wing schools like Baylor. The best indicator is the location. A school that is in the middle of a city is way more liberal than a school in the middle of farmland. It is also important to know that bigger schools mean more diversity, so there will be more differences in political affiliation. It’s not something I’d dwell on too much on since college students are just more likely to lean dem so almost every college’s student body will be majority democrat. I’d worry more about if there are orgs that have a healthy sized group that align with your beliefs. Ik I’m not Ashton lol, I just feel like I have a lot to say on this since I went to a huge liberal university last year. Hey! I mean for colleges in general, Nick really summed it up well. Location plays a huge factor in the divide between both parties but for the most part, every college leans bluer, so it is something you'll see more frequently. At FSU specifically, I would say that there is a good representation of both sides, since it is a big public university there are a lot of liberal campaigns, and groups out there. But we are also in Tallahassee which is a very country town so there is your fair share of conservative viewpoints as well. At the end of the day, neither side really overpowers the other, and there are plenty of groups out there to support whatever it is you may associate with. I hope this helps!
