This, along with the commentary, was so helpful! Thank you. Once I get my nails healthy as I can, I may venture into the world of shellac. For now, it's the vinylux versions.
Yay Anna wearing colour on her nails. You should wear it more often as your nails look perfect to me. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

I usually damage the product while working on clients. Acetone breaks through nitrile gloves easily. I do like wearing color once in a while :) I think I would choose the brown for myself
Ahhh, the teal colour is so beautiful! I honestly really like the ruby with the specks also, I would imagine it looking gorgeous over a luscious, full burgundy base shade, adding just a little dimension - perfect for winter. Thank you for the upload, I always love looking at your super elegant nails!

I like that red with black particles in it! Looks more sophisticated. And those colours go really well together and I would wear that combination as a manicure

Thanks for all the information you give while doing your nails. 😊
I now find myself holding back on purchasing any new Shellac colours until you’ve swatched. So grateful for your help, thank you!
I love a speckled finish! It's beautiful.
Love the brown and the lighter blue. Thanks to you, I am a loyal CND shellac user!
Beautiful cnd shellac polishes. They look so nice on you’re nails ❤. The red color and the brown color are perfect for the autumn.
I've never painted my nails with my finger pointing towards me. I can see its easier to pull the skin away from the sides of the fingers that way (I do that when painting my thumbs) so I just tried it using CD nail glow. Not bad, but I'm not sure if I could do a good enough job using a colour🤔. I love the colours you used. The red was like a raspberry coulis and the last one I would describe as duck egg blue. That one's my favourite 😍
That teal colour is a knock out 🎊 🎉😊Awesome video as usual!
Love the swatch videos. I just bought the brown in Vinylux. Browns are underrated and are my favorite!
Love them all the last one is amazing and the blue one
i like what u do swatches just like normal manuicure and cap the free edges. ❤ the blue shimmer color on your right thumb.
Ahh, i saw the video just now! Very nice collection! Colourful nails look good on you! Thank you again for the wonderful work yesterday! My nails are so beautiful. And my feet never felt so soft and smooth!🥰
Beautifully done Anna xxxx ❤
That brown is gorgeous ! Also love the red with the little speckles. There was a trend called “Dalmatian gel” from Korea that it reminds me of 😊 Beautiful job as always
Love your videos ! Always watch them when I pick new CND colors to buy. They are also soo relaxing and soothing to watch . Thank you

Love these kind of shades 🥰🥰🥰
I love needles & red. A must have!!!
I’ve never used this product before but that red intruigs me! I think I’ll watch more of your videos about this shellac and give it a try. The end result of that red is fabulous,its different it looks like some special nail design but it’s all in one.
Love these colors!!😍
Thank you, Anna!! This video was so helpful and I have several new tips I’m going to try! Definitely going to start doing one nail at a time. It was super helpful to hear how you were moving your nails around to look at the coverage in different lights and just seeing the different angles you painted. There are so many useful interesting tips here! I’m excited to try them! And thank you for the file explanation! I cannot stand it when something snags-it just seems to get bigger and worse and I focus on it constantly! 😂 Thank you again!!
These colors are so pretty! I love them.

Love the brown one!!! 😍
You could definitely wear any of these shades well. I see the brown and red w/ speckles as the most formal or suitable for dressy evening/night dining or events. I see the other shades as "nail art" bases, fun daytime shades or much less formal evening events. I like the black irregularly sized/shaped speckles over polishes and have a top coat with speckles that like that to use over any shade. I think it's an especially effective top over lighter shades to make a "speckled eggshell" look. I enjoy seeing others do their own nails because it's always helpful for me to see different methods and techniques which I might try and adopt for when I do my own nails. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and sharing these things as well as your thoughts with us. Thank you ❤️
Anna, I really liked this. Excellent video, it is helpful to me to see how you apply the products on your own nails. Just seeing an expert doing the brush work on their own nail helps me. The explanation of what you are doing and why makes a difference too. Without proper training from CND and as a person with a science background, for me, I wouldn't use Shellac at home. IF I was a nail tech I would probably try it. Having found your channel during the pandemic and watching all your swatches on MSL (👋) I've become a big fan of Vinylux! Love a fall color too and the blue on your left hand is my fav. I kind of liked them all ! Thanks for tip about the brown vs Fedora. I like the ruby color on thumb, but I'm not sure about the speckles 😄. Hope y'all have a lovely week. 🏵️🌺🌻

Hello Anna, loved the video, thank you. I do recall someone from CND mentioning that the brushes have some sort of ‘packing coating’. CND state this… ‘Shellac brushes also have a starch packing coating which is normally easily removed after shaking and removing the excess polish.If necessary this can be removed by removing the excess polish and cleaning using D Sperse if necessary. Saturate a lint free or plastic backed pad with D Sperse or IPA and work the shellac brush back and forwards until all the residue has been cleaned off the brush and the bristles are nice and flexible…’ I have had to do this a few times. 😊
I’m famous for smudging my regular nail polish minutes after it’s applied, so annoying. Now I use quick setting nail polish from Essie.
That orange really does look lovely on you - if you ever in the mood for a full shellac manicure with colour please use that one ❤

Not even a CND trainer would be able to provide such an insightful and detailed info, Anna🤯 i.e. the different behaviour of this top coat that you noticed when used over light colors. Plus, unlike a person who works for the brand, your description doesn' t contain some subtext to make me fall in love with the product. It' s as neutral as 🇨🇭. A polish nail technician being swiss when it comes to polishes! Sorry but not sorry. Pun beyond intended, can' t help🤷🏻♀️🤭🫣. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I like matte glitter, and this dark red is very appealing. I hope my discount beauty supply has this collection! Great video, but your regular model I miss❤.

Love how candid you are in this video! I love the aqua and the gold/green shimmers on you---do you consider your skin tone to be warm, cool or neutral?
@TheSalonLife
11 ай бұрын
Hello Judy! My skin is warm/neutral and pretty light. The skin on my hands has some redness to it. A bright, cool orange, leaning coral looks good on me but these earthy oranges usually not.
I personally would not wear these colours as I prefer pastel colours or clear. However you did a great job applying these colours! I must say I do like the clear natural polish on your beautiful nails!!

The red with particles gel looks like a non strained smoothie made in a rush from strawberry, pomegranate and blueberries. In every stroke, I was expecting black dots (kiwi seeds) to appear. Not my personal taste aesthetically speaking but I' m sure it must be yummy once fully cured 😋.

Scandalous 😂
Thank you for this! I do my own Shellac. I recently asked you a question about top coat and now watching you, I'm wondering if I'm applying the top coat wrong! At the base, I usually go over the edge of the color. Seems you go right at the edge. You never experience peeling? I'm thinking since I go over the edge, eventhough I use an orange stick, when the nail starts to grow, I get a funky looking edge from the base which is more than likely the top coat. If any of that makes sense 😂 I'll try your way! ❤

I'm back to report your video has fixed my months long Shellac issues!!! Yay! Thank you so so much for this video!
❤❤❤
Do you know why the gel polishes never contain mixing balls? It weirds me out not to hear the polish really beeing mixed.
I love this. I have been a manicurist 36 years. I retired in 2020! I do miss it. If I ever went back I would strictly do natural nails, meaning no sculpture nails. So saying that when I shellac my nails which I love since I retired, when I remove it, it tends to dry my nails out and make them really thin. I don’t know why. They seem to get really thin, which they are somewhat already. But thin and dry brittle. My thought is it is the acetone. Any thoughts on this. I end up not putting anything on them so they stay healthy. I love shellac!!! I have learned so much from you wish I came across you when I was working! Anyway hugs from Texas!
@TheSalonLife
11 ай бұрын
Hello Connie! Thank you so much for your message! Acetone does not thin or damage the nails. Try soaking a nail in acetone every 2 weeks (without any Shellac) and see that there won't be any damage or any thinning. In my experience wearing the gel polish or even polish can pick up the nail surface especially when it's already damaged. It also depends how you remove the product. Are you being very gentle? I would have to see exactly what you are doing to be able to troubleshoot. Hugs from Spain :))

@@conniehoelscher4591I love the Dazzle Dry polish! I began with a starter kit which I’ve gotten 7 manicures so far and I still have 1/2 bottle of each left. I think my nails look so good with the sheer polish and my manicures last at least 8 days. I’m going to buy the full size. If you decide to try, let us know what you think!😊
Did you have to use the UV lamp to dry this nail gel product?
@TheSalonLife
3 ай бұрын
Yes, it's a UV cured gel polish
I just started watching your videos. I use L.A. Colors regular nail polish. I have painted my nails 6 hours before bed, then try to sleep with my hands flat so I don't get blanket marks. I got up the next day and they looked fine. I go to bed the next night, then wake up the following morning with nails ruined from blanket marks. I read online that it has to do with living in a humid climate. What can I do to stop the blanket marks? What brand of Jojoba oil do you use? This Lavender oil I'm using isn't working.
@TheSalonLife
11 ай бұрын
Do you dry the coats in between? Is the polish new? Is it proper thickness? Have you thinned it? I live in humid climate too (Spain, subtropical climate) and this is not happening. What kind of oil are you using? Lavender essential oil? I use this kind of jojoba oil Jojoba bulk amzn.to/3APfVKx. amzn.to/3KuY7aS
@TeresaV

@@TheSalonLife I apply thin layers and let each coat dry before the second coat. Some of my polishes are old, some are brand new. I haven't seen the age make a difference. I have not thinned it out. Yes, I use a Lavender oil, but I think it is cheap. It comes in a bottle with a brush like nail polish. Interestingly, I was trying to decide on the brand of oil you use or Kate Blanc's. I prefer my oils from a single source, organic, and cruelty-free. I'm still trying to decide! And our humidity here was around 73% and up when I was doing my nails.
The red with the black flakies gives indie vibes. The thing is, I don’t like the indie polishes like this either 😂
Don't shake the bottle, roll it between your hands or pop the bottle in a warm place for a bit! I put the nail polish in A BAG then in my bra, heat warms it up! UK 🇬🇧 27.7.24
@TheSalonLife
Ай бұрын
This is gel polish, not a polish. You have to shake it because it's much much thicker than a polish. Also no heating as it makes the solvents evaporate much faster once the bottle is open. The bra trick might be good at home, not in a professional setting LOL ;)
Beyond Polish sells authentic CND shellac to the public? No nail tech license needed? I just figured these were fake.
