    THE perfect tutorial I was looking for, I put on 1.75 speed and captions to condense the content. Removing overgrown cuticle and pushing or clipping the eponychium (nobody recommends the latter) can go awry easy so be super gentle anyone who is reading. I never understood putting oil on a surface that's about to be bonded with polish, but your evaporator seems to have fixed that. Happy Nailing!

    Great tutorial. As a nail tech two suggestions. First don't use cuticle oil to push back your cuticles, use cuticle remover and buff your nails after. Second: Seal the free edge first and then polish your nails. That's what we do in the salon and what I do at home. Your just doing it backwards. If you do the free edge first, you won't have such a big bulky edge. Use cuticle oil at the very end of the manicure. Great job. I am extremely Impressed by your tutorial and how well you polish your nails. You so a great job. Also. Many people pay to have long nails like your natural nails. You have great nails.

    The oil and gently pushing them back is better, and not removing them at all. That’s our body’s way of keeping out harmful infections. The oil and gently pushing them back is much safer. Nail techs have destroyed my nails by removing cuticles. This is why I do my own now.

    A couple of tips I've learned: start painting with the pinky so you don't risk messing up the rest your nails as you move on to the next one. And cap your nail edge first and then paint the nail to remove any "hump" that might appear from capping. It just evens it out. 😊

    Never use cuticle oil until the very end of the manicure. The most important part of doing a gel manicure that will last is that the nails need to be prepped properly as well as dry as possible. I’ve been a nail tech for 20 years and the best product to use to push your cuticles and remove all the pterygium (skin that sticks on your nail bed) is alcohol.....it allows softening of the cuticles so they can be pushed back and, it loosens the pterygium for removal and it aids in dehydrating the nail bed for better adhesion I know the oil was wiped off but to not use it at all would ensure the longevity of the gel manicure I hope these tips help ☺️ oh! Also, capping the free edge of the nail with the polish will seal the nail to help avoid any chipping ......good luck!

  • @TwoAfterIDo

    @TwoAfterIDo

    3 жыл бұрын

    If you watch the video when I am painting the color gel polish I show it. Capping is basically painting the very edge of your nail where you would normally trim it. Instead of painting on top of your nail your actually painting that raw edge that you just trimmed. 😊

    a good thing to do is apply your cuticle oil before you apply the acetone soaked cotton ball . it keeps your cuticles from getting dehydrated too bad and it will wash off when you wash your hands giving you a clean surface to polish. apply again after done

    You’re opening yourself up to so many problems mixing brands. If you’re not professionally trained please stop. Is saving a few ££ worth being unable to ever have your nails done again from losing your nails through separation or worse, severe allergic reaction which has implications on healthcare such as dentistry. The day they stop allowing non trained professionals to buy this 🙌🏻 it’s literally a pandemic in itself the damage being done

    I understand where you’re coming from, I was also taught this. However I disagree. My gel application lasts 4+ weeks every time and I always apply oil to soften and condition my cuticles. Once I’m done pushing them back I throughly clean my nail beds with acetone to ensure my polish adheres to the nail bed, works every single time :)

    Thank you! I’m so glad it’s helpful that’s the goal!! You’re too kind. I would say gel polish is very similar to a regular nail polish consistency but it never dries so you can repeat the same stroke a few times to get it nice and even and not worry about it getting sticky/bubbly/patchy like regular polish since it starts to dry instantly. Hope this makes sense!

    @@TwoAfterIDo I just did a gel polish for the time yesterday at the salon, but I was wondering is there any side effect to using the UV on the hands because I am planning on getting my kits and do at home . Way too expensive at the salon ☺️

    Nice! Yes so a UV light does have UV rays but if you want to protect your skin you can use sunscreen on the back of your hands before your manicure or you can wear gloves with the finger tips cut off so your skin is protected in the lamp! Hope this helps :)

    you did a great job ! perfect nails with & without polish ! irritated that everyone has so much to say about your work, forgetting part of the luxury of taking care of ourselves at home is being able to do what we want and what we’re comfortable with ! thank you for sharing with the world. keep it up and keep going ! never mind the world full of professionals 💕

    @@rondas7772 @Ronda S Capping the free edge means applying polish to the very edge of your nail where you would cut it. Its the edge that is exposed, if you watch my video I show it when I paint the black polish on my nail at around 12:03. Hope this helps!

    I also recommend capping the free edge before you apply the gel polish the first or second time so that it’s not bulky! It rlly helps 🙌🏼

    Capping is what I do near the end of the video with the clear top coat, basically applying it to the free edge of your nail.

    These are the BEST tips ever I have to hit that red button. I have EVERYTHING you have and still learning to work it. SO this helped a lot. Can you do a video on how to trim the cuticles?🥺🥺 I don't know how to use the tool. But great video and beautiful nails!
