    Photographers/videographers can be weird, they often add fake grain thus ruining the image quality and they often remove real grain thus also ruining the image quality (because denoising gives a weird selective blurring effect and thus destroys some details). Maybe they overthink it and should stick to whatever grain they have. Glad to see someone who realises their mistake!

    More details on the anamorphic photoshop file you mentioned. What exactly is it doing?

  • @themustang181

    Blake Kaiser this is way late but it’s to give it the widescreen aspect ratio. And you don’t need a photoshop file or .png or anything. Just set your sequence/export settings to either 1920x800 or 3840x1600 (depending on if you’re doing HD or UHD) for the 2.4:1 “anamorphic” aspect ratio.

    Why did you need a ND filter to expose properly? I only use it for wide apertures when I want to get small deep of fields.

  • @JordanThiem

    @JordanThiem

    *variable ND filter. Camera native ISO is 800 and The speed booster increases light by 1.3 stops so even at f/16 you will over expose mid day. Also light changed drastically through the canals and I wanted to be able to control my exposure.

    How do you get around the fact that Denoiser freezes and slows eeeeeverything down, basically fucking up the workflow? That's what happens to me. The export time triples even...

    Haha I know your pain all to well. I believe it’s just a limitation of your processor. I have to leave it until the very end, throw it on and tune it by single frames, and then let it render the whole video. I have an iMac workhorse and it still can’t keep up with denoiser.

  • @popotade4621

    @popotade4621

    Yeah I have a 2016 omen laptop and use proxys most of the time, I also try to wait until the end to add denoiser but I end up always going back and making changes by client request mostly. It's terrible. I'm saving up for the new bmpcc but I guess I'll have to add a workhorse to the equation.
