Photographing Italy on Two Prime Lenses
Photographing Italy on 2 prime lenses. Spending a few weeks traveling across some epic locations all over Italy with my two favourite focal lengths shooting mostly street photography.

Really enjoyed this format, and liked that you added which lens you shot with each photo. Really getting into prime lenses now after having a 50mm for a little bit now, and the 24mm looks like a great range to have for capturing that wider perspective.
You are a breath of fresh air. Glad I found your channel 🎉

I might try do a video on this look very soon! It's all included in the CineFilm pack I use though! I sometimes only tweak the shadows a bit depending on the image and occasionally add some radial / graduated filters for areas of light or shadow :) anyway cheers for that hopefully a video soon!

@@TKNORTH are you using a diffusion filter on your lenses?

@@elevatedmediafl3398for sure he's using a pro mist diffuser lens. It's a nice look and great way to soften a clinically sharp digital image.
Great video tk! Like the format a lot 👍🏼

Thanks so much for that! I definitely draw some inspiring from film when editing these days, but always trying to put my own spin on it.
Amazing shots, very inspiring video. 2 primes!!! In Italy?!!! Very brave man. When I visited Italy I took all my zooms with me (the holy trinity). 😊
man, the way you edit your photos is incredible, keep up the good work mate, love it. i'd love to receive a tutorial of how how u edit ur photos. its brilliant
Really like your shots, with the soft look and sublime color. Same exact primes I took when I traveled to Italy, except mine were the classic EF 24L and 50L on the 5D2 (this was in 2011).
Very nice pictures!!!
Just back from 4 weeks in UK, Spain and Portugal. Had 2 primes to go with the R6: 28mm f2.8 and 50mm f1.8. If I’m honest I think I would have preferred a 24-70 or 24-105 zoom as I seemed to constantly be changing lenses. Took the Peak Design 6L slung you recommended and it’s definitely a winner - perfect. Thanks as always.
Cant wait to see those from Venice! Nice video man!

Awesome Video man
24+50 or 35+135 or 20+35 or many others... it's always combo of wide angle and some detail, this combo is working for ages and does not matter exact focal length... you can do the same with 24-70/2.8 too :)

So very true! It's always nice having some kind of duo though. Mixes things up but doesn't overwhelm with too many options
Beautiful photos
I love those little trucks lol, I was in Sicily in January it was nice even to take photos on my little Canon Rebel, it's so nice off season
@TKNORTH

Haha they are the best!! That's so true, I often prefer a lot of places outside peak season. As long as you can still get decent conditions / light for photos. Would love to visit Sicily sometime!

@@TKNORTH I didn't take any photos in the main city Palermo there for the same reason as you with too many people, but I was in Belestrate, there was a traditional festival type of carnival there and it was cool to photo document it, and I stayed in Castellammare Del Golfo, a sweet little town literally fulllll of your little truck lol you would love it there, for the port, the trucks, and the people that are so nice
Congratulations for the video! Next time you come back to Veneto, let me know!😉

Thank you for sharing your photos and telling us the regions you visited. I’ve never visited Italy and like to do it someday. Can you be more specific about the lenses you used. Also would be nice to know both the f-stop and ISO for each image and if the image has or has not been cropped. Take care.

Thanks so much for the feedback! It's the RF 24mm f/1.8 and the RF 50mm f/1.2, - I didn't chat too much about them as I've shared a lot about these two lenses in recent videos! In terms of settings, all largely low ISO (mostly shot during bright daylight), rarely cropped (sometimes just change the aspect ratio slightly, eg to 5x7 or 4x5 if I like the composition better). In terms of f-stop I have a recent video on aperture priority which explains how I often pick my aperture!
Really enjoyed this style of video! Did you find it challenging to keep swapping lenses? I’m considering a purchase of the new Sony 24-50 f2.8 lens so that I keep one lens on at all times.
Italy such a beautiful country. Love your pictures. Did you use a mist filter or you just added softness in the highlights in Lightroom?
@TKNORTH
2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much, it really is! I used a mist filter on all of these (besides the couple of shots on the Fuji) but created slightly in the edit too!
I was thinking so long which lens would be perfect and realized for everything 85mm is until you go to the landscapes but still it's good. 85mm looks natural, kinda flatish. What you think?
Should have just taken xf18mmf2 and XF35mm1.4 + the X pro. First in a tiny bag and weight very little. Have you printed any images?
Awesome pics. What kind and strength of mist filter are you using?

Thanks so much! Its 1/4. I think the effect can really vary between different brands though, this one is a Nisi Black Mist.
Looks dreamy. I wish the Rf 50mm 1.2 was shrunk down. I love the quality but sometimes its a bit hard to travel.

👍👍👍
From looking at your pictures, you hardly used only two primes. I spot 24mm, 23mm apc-s which is 35FF, and 50mm so far, that is three. Good pictures of travel though. Personally I use 35 and 75mm FF equivalent.
