Damn… ur awesome bro, if I had u earlier it would have helped me especially with this research stuff. All I thought before is just grinding academics, but obviously now I’m a senior and cannot do much about extracurriculars. At least I can help my younger brother using ur channel. Thanks man

Nah tbh I also did the same but now luckily I competed in so much that i thought i was doing for fun and now looking back I’ve got like a national silver medal in swimming and have competed in a sh*t ton of science related competitions (qualified for semi finals for ARSSDC) and also have made my own community service organization, I did all of this in senior year (11th Grade) of my high school, don’t let yourself down, you still have time, even if its less, try to do something that will make you stand out
ur genuinely the realest person on this app😭🙏 u make everything so relatable
Thank you so much for your videos! I'm a freshman who wants to find their passion and explore research. Your videos gave me a lot of inspiration and direction, and I wish you luck in college as well!
Yo these videos are always so helpful and you always make them so interesting. I’d definitely be down for some more content about research and internships as well. Keep up the good work!
I’ve been needing this for SO LONG
This is by far one of the if not the best KZread channel I have even come across. Wishing you continued successes Pratik!
Loved the video!! I’d absolutely be interested if you covered the publication process of research, it’s difficult to know where to start without science fair or anything like it at my school. Awesome vid super helpful!!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm an international student in freshman year and really want to do research, but there's no content in my country. I appreciate a lot this type of video, I'm very sure that you are helping a lot of students like me
I have been waiting for this video!
Pratik, I watch your videos religiously and can't even begin to tell you how incredibly helpful they are. As a rising freshman, I want to do well in school and pursue a career in computer science. Watching your videos gives me a lot more direction in the way I should go about high school to be able to get where I want to be in the future. Thank you.

I swear yesterday I was like "Ayo I wish Pratik made a video about his process to independent research" man this is going to so helpful as a rising freshman. Thank you brother
I would be more than interested if you made a specific video on the process to ISEF or how to publish research. Also, if you could tell us your journey would research, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, great and honest vid sir.
Editing went crazy this vid Prathik, proud of you bro!
Great video, very insightful
This video is wonderful!
Best Research vid ever.
Pratik bro ur a real one😢, singlehandedly carried my sat score.
I love you, Pratik ❤️
Hi! I recently won 1st place in ISEF, thanks for your help!!!
just published my first paper after following this (on computational astronomy as a freshman), thanks Pratik
This comment section is incredible. Keep doing what you're doing man!
Awsome vlog.great info.
Make a video on science fairs and publishing papers! I love your videos by the way!
Wow, really liked the video, some great insights there! Would you make some video about publishing papers and stuff?
Ik I’m late but, This video was really helpful. I am working on writing a social sciences research paper on how student journalism rights are affected by various economic systems and factors.
is my birthday king, preciate thr gift
You should do an applying to ISEF series to prep us for the upcoming season!
I've been waiting for this one, appreciate it a lot. I asked this question on one of your recent KZread shorts and its related to independent research, so I would really appreciate any insight from your end. I'm currently an astrophysics-focused student doing guided research, and I have recently began diving into independent research. I am currently pursing an engineering research project related to fluid dynamics. Although, if everything goes as planned, I should be able to fabricate a physical product, I am currently just working with self-programmed simulations and machine learning algorithms. I know you're more focused on medicine, but at ISEF, to what extent do you see more purely computational model research? With one of the research internships that I am doing, I am currently creating an ML model, and you mentioned taking contributions you have under a professor and taking that to ISEF, so, as a backup, will that be viable in and of itself or should I create an accomplishing measurement device to siphon the data for such model? I've seen some projects with purely computation, but it doesn't seem that many get far, so I was wondering what it is like at the highest position.
Hey Pratik, I love your content. It has helped me so much as a first generation student. I have a question. Is it too late to start individual research as a rising junior?
Hey Pratik, I stumbled across your channel a couple days ago while searching what I should be doing freshman year to lay the groundwork for getting into t20s. I watched your video on the blueprint for all 4 years and took away the best extracurriculars like Job Shadowing, Interviews, Clubs, and Volunteering; I just wanted to ask what you did freshman year and if you have any other advice? (BTW I already figured out what my SPIKE is and what career I want to get into, CS.)
it was really helpful please make a vid on science fares
I love you bro u saved meeee
can you please make a video continuation to this about how to get started in science fairs please?
Hey Pratik! I’m a freshmen and pretty deep into step 3ish stage rn for what I hope may get me into ISEF next year with astrophysics. This video, and all your other videos, are super helpful for me! Thank you so much for all of this information!

Hey Pratik, I love your videos and find them intellectually very helpful for my high school career. I was hoping that you could take into consideration making a video about finance/business majors and how I could find research opportunities in the investment banking field, as I'm trying to major in finance. Thank you!
Bro ur videos are so helpful and motivating. How did you model the brain?
YESSS
Im taking independent research right now on war and international peace. I am a junior in high school. How long does it take to get research published?
@PreachingP Question: Do colleges think it's worse if you took a Science Research Class. Like I'm taking a class where the upper classman teach us how to find a topic, find research facilities, professors ect. and I'm wondering if that fact that I'm taking such a class would make it seem likes less work than if I had done it all with my own research. IDK what's your opinion?
You should go more in depth into the later parts. How to use coding in projects, how to write te actual papers and publish them and next steps.
Would you say that debate is time-worthy in high school for a pre-med student? Especially since joining debate would mean less time for independent research or preparing for science competitions. I've heard that debate and model un carry a similar prestige, and I watched the ranking extracurriculars video - so would you agree that debate is very pointless? Also, what’s your opinion on the ap capstone diploma program? If there’s ap classes (ap music theory and ap psychology) I want to take instead, are those better options?
prathik ! i was able to get a professor for mentoring as well as an objective for the project, but im going to need an irb since its survey based. obtaining an irb is a super long process and its not worth it cus id be in college by then. do you know of any alternatives? my prof said that science fairs might be able to grant permissions but im not sure how i would go about that

I love your channel! I’ve personally been following the process you listed out in the vid for awhile now and hav narrowed down on a topic of interest and am delving into it. It’s a coding science fair project idea but I was wonder if you could give me advice on how to email professors if they’re interested in mentoring me. Should I list out achievements or focus on idea and passion? And what would I do in a situation where more than one person replied saying they’re willing to work with me?

I'm no expert, but I would think that you would want to focus more on the idea and passion for the email, but just make sure to say that you have researched the topic extensively.
Hi Preaching P, would you recommend doing research with a professor, or doing it independently? Thanks!
Hi, thank you for making such inspiring KZread videos. For an 8th grader who wants to learn coding for doing science fair projects, what is the best way to do so? Any website or online courses you would recommend? Many thanks in advance. It seems like coding related science fair project is the most assessable for this age group. Again, very grateful for any advice you may have.
Hey Pratik, I want to begin pursuing research in order to compete in ISEF. However, my state fair is in the spring and it is currently the early fall. Do you think I am too late? You made it sound like this is a long term process over a year or longer.
Can you make a video on publishing papers , format, and etc? Thank You.
unrelated but im loving the mullet
Hello, I was wondering if you could consider making a video for students who don’t know which path to take in their studies and career.
Make that science fair vid ong
Hello P, I understand that the content you make is typically meant for more intelligent people and not average students like myself but Can you give me any advice towards a person like me i have decent gpa of 3.9 but i would say I'm lacking in extracurriculars and test scores? my SAT score is around 1050. I have pretty mid ecs and is going into senior year my goal really isnt to make it to any big named university of any sorts just colleges and stateschools
What coding language should I learn for this type of research? I don't know anything about coding but everything says to learn either JavaScript or Python.
Cool
First View 💪💪
Please make a video on how to publish your own research paper from scratch 🙏

Hey Pratik, I will soon be a freshman in late August. I luv the help and advice you give in your vids. Since I will start my research this fall, what platforms could I use to help myself learn to code? I've never done coding and don't take any coding classes, do you have any suggestions for websites or platforms that could help me learn how to code? Is Khan Academy a good option to learn to code? Thanks buddy.

Hey Pratik, thanks a lot for your help! I do have a few questions. I want to do independent research in quantum mechanics, but the resources for doing research in that field are mostly in laboratories. Do you know how I could do research in this field with my computer?

Preaching P I got a question for you. I have been doing research this summer with a program. They recommended Journal of Student Research(JSR) for publication. What journal do you recommend when added to college apps?
@zappist751

the publication journal barely matters lol. Just publish it through any known publisher.
hey pratik, i just wanted to say how glad i am to have discovered your channel youve really helped in familiarizing fields such as research, internships, etc to a level where i can understand and its been incredibly helpful love your videos
imma need that science fair/science conference sauce 😋😏
I'm sort of confused by the labelling of steps 4 and 5. Even though step 4 is labelled implementation, it also has aspects of ideation, and even though step 5 is labelled ideation, it also has aspects of implementation. Thanks for the video though, can't find this content anywhere else on yt :)
video about science fairs pls
Video on Publishing would b Great ,
hey somebody doing this type of research: if im starting over the summer how many hours can i expect to dedicate per week to this / how many weeks or months does the entire process (beginning to publishing paper) take?
How should I go about doing survey-based independent research?
Hello! I was wondering if you have any computer science related research ideas?
Hello prateek (i think thats your name) I am confused by the fact that you only talk about scientific research. Can I do research in the fields of arts and humanities? Is it worth it?
can compsci comete at science fair?
I have my project ready and I wanna participate in ISEF; how should I go with it?
Is it too late to start research as a sophomore? Because I’ve seen a lot of people talking about starting in 8th or 9th grade but no later than that.

i’m a sophomore too but i don’t think it’s ever too late, just commit right now and focus on these goals. prioritize!!
Hiii! :D Must independent research be scientifically based to be published or continuously considered? I have a few thesis topics that I really super like but they all lean towards social, political, and legal sciences. They'll all include a TON of published numerical values and statistics- but it's not cancer based or anything. Is this alright? 👀😭

i’m going into my sophomore year, and i’m looking to do some kind of quantum computing research. how long did it take for you to get your research published after starting step 3? right now i’m still on the broad learning-about-the-subject stage but i’m starting to hone in on what i want to commit to studying and eventually contribute something of value to the field.

I have no idea where to start the research. Do I write my research in google docs or something? and what websites and where do I find the already published research papers to read them? Do I submit my research paper at my school or something or on a website? what website should I publish my research on? I'm in 10th grade and I want to publish a research paper about neuroscience.
