Actually I would like to start learning React but I don’t think my JS skills are enough good. Anyhow thanks for good word, comment like yours, give me more courage to keep going. 😉

I got my first web development job last week at a very small start up. I finished my first project according to the design I was given and I ended up being let go due to a lack of experience. What bothers me most is that I did what I was told and they didn't even give me feedback. They could have at least told me it looked bad (I honestly thought the designs given looked bad), but I made their designs happen. Oh well though, I gained some experience and now I'm off to look for my next gig.

Hello Chris, I am so happy for you. It is good that you went for it and followed your feelings by learning to code. There is another great thing in this. If you have your own ideas, you can actually build it yourself not depending on someone else. I am 43 myself and an internet marketer for 12 years. Normally I search for developers but at the same time, I feel the urge to build platforms myself. Being able to program yourself or at least program together on your projects makes you more independent and involved. Today I made the decision to learn to program too. Thank you again for sharing. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Ever since 4 years ago when a friend/mentor of mine said he learned to code himself and landed a job at a start up company as a web developer/programmer, I was amazed because he graduated from tOSU with a psychology degree. Ever since then, I had an interest in coding and programming. It wasn't until yesterday that I acted on my wants/desires/goals and started really simple JavaScript on Khan Academy. I kid you not, I may just be making shapes, coloring said shapes, making a horribly drawn Totoro, and making things go left and right or increasing size but whenever I finish a successful code with everything perfectly working, it brings so much joy to me like I feel like I am in kindergarten again. And with you, there is definitely that glimmer in your eye where when you talk about your journey, you have such passion with your words. With that said, I wish you well on your future endeavors! I don't know if I will do anything about the coding I will learn because I am currently in pharmacy school... haha

I'm interested in coding cos it's about problem solving and finding solutions but people say that it's not something I can learn casually or half heartedly since the technology scene is constantly changing. My main focus is being a travel KZreadr so freelancing in coding would be a side project, just to fund my travels. Do you think a side career in coding is feasible? Or do you think it's something you either dedicate 100% and succeed or fail due to the amount of knowledge required to keep up with the coding industry?

Thank you for sharing your story it's very motivational and inspiring. I'm currently learning to code and am loving every second of it but am nervous to start applying for jobs in Tech as it is a huge career change compared to what I'm doing now. But your video had renewed my hope and motivation that maybe this can be a possibility for me now as well. I hope you continue to upload more videos like this!

Hey Chris, Thanks for the reply! I'm studying Front End Web Development and started my course 6 months ago but due to work commitments I fell so behind but now I'm taking this month to fully immerse myself and try to start freelancing while I study and hopefully this will lead to me continuing to freelance which would be my dream or a job as a web developer in a company. Your blog has given me a great idea to create one about my journey learning to code until I get my website up. Thank you again for your kind words of encouragement, I have subscribed to your channel and really look forward to your uploads!
