Hyderabad Metro is a 67-km long Rapid Transit System in Greater Hyderabad Area opened in 2017.
Presently, it has 3 operational lines and is expected to grow in the future. It is the second largest metro network in India following Delhi Metro.

Before creating new lines.. Extensions are needed.. Nagole > LB Nagar Miyapur > BHEL JBS > Trimulgherry MGBS > Falaknuma If possible the most important Raidurg > Financial District

BHEL to Lakdikapul route is probably not how you've shown - because BHEL to Gachibowli Section (as depicted in your video) hardly has any residential / commercial establishments. I think it is proposed in this manner: BHEL > Miyapur > Hafeezpet > Kondapur > Botanical Garden > Gachibowli > Mehdipatnam > Lakdikapul.

I think the route you mentioned above was scrapped since there are many flyovers in between - which might make the construction bit difficult. Also, with the underpass and flyover near Sharath city mall - it will be really tough for authorities a built a metro on that route.

@@aravind2007eee104 yeah, agreed, will be difficult to construct a metro line through so many number of flyovers. However, it won't be commercially viable to build a metro for nearly 7 kilometers in the BHEL > HCU > Gachibowli stretch without much foot fall either. The route I mentioned has the maximum gains for metro route, but like you said, it will be a technical challenge to realize it (and I too heard it was scrapped). So, let's see how it goes.

Ya actually even I live at bhel and i dont think they have aplan to buil metro right here because everyone goes in metro by any other transport from bhel to miyapur which is approximately 5 to 6 km

By 2030:- Delhi- 550km Mumbai- 350km Bengaluru/ Chennai- 250km(120km UC) Kolkata- 200+km(100+ UC) Indore- 300km(atleast this much is planned but just 50km is UC) Hyderabad/Nagpur/Lucknow/Noida/Bhopal/Ahmedabad/Pune/Navi Mumbai- All Over 100km

Hi, I think the Hyderabad Metro Must conside extension of the blue line from Nagole to the Shamshabad Airport along with the extension from Raidurg as well, this will give a wider circular coverage.

In fact it can be the best to revive the green line as then it can cover airport , and all the nizam monuments like charminar , falaknuma palace etc and extend it towards alwal and further to make it most profitable.

Hyderabad metro is mainly limited to northwest, southeast and central hyderabad, I was expecting it would expand to southwest and northeast and north but no luck even with second phase 😢. Only airport express with limited stops.

Recently I visited Hyderabad and ride a metro from hi-tech City to secendrabad east and Ameerpet to MG bus station..very nice.. concept and atmosphere

I guess instead of connecting raidurg to Airport it should be from LB Nagar. It'll help a lot and cost of construction will also come down. And it'll be easy to commute too. I wish they plan it accordingly like that of Chennai metro where major bus stations, railway stations and airport are connected.

Though I support your view of Nagole extension to airport which makes more sense in terms of crowd movement.. But I Honestly think the idea of connecting airport has to be the last of priority.. people doing air travel might not even be 10-15 % of the population here . See the amount of people moving from Vanasthalipuram.. Boduppal.. ECIL ..Nagaram... Tirumal giri Alwal.. suchitra kompally Jeedimetla... This is the major public of all sorts who move in and out of the city... More trains need to commute between Ameerpet and raidurg .. 1. raidurg shud be extended to financial district... 2. Miyapur to BHEL 3. Nagole to Vanasthalipuram 4. JBS to Alwal or Suchitra.. Only if all these are done then airport can be thought about

@@upendra714 agree,,,i live in boduppal and traffic here is a mess with narrow road lanes and being a national high way, LB nagar is another big mess, no matter how many bridges come up, the amount of traffic seems unending in this area. They should connect L.B nagar to BN reddy, hayath nagar, karman ghat, nagole. extension of uppal to ghatkesar or atleast medipally is needed as tech companies, colleges are majorly in this area. Dont know why they bother extending to airport. its not like people travel to airport every day. Instead they should be concentrating on congested areas and more populated areas.

linkages from lb nagar to airport is needed cuz bangalore -hyd commuters use this route to enter other parts of city other than gachibowli/hitec city/ jubilee hillzz. and also old hyd, financial distt., orr, airport extension is required since although the TS govt is doing a fab job building sm flyovers, even metro works have to start soon

If they build the airport. Line along the ORR then it won't be much useful because people won't go to ORR just to board the metro .. it should be from mid of the city . Like extend green line .
If you are from Hyderabad, can you please tell me if the Hyderabad Metro is connected to Hyderbad MMTS (Local train) network? As in, does the Hyderbad metro run on MMTS track in any stretch of the total route length?

Hyderabad metro is not connected to mmts but there are metro stations near by to mmts so there will be announcement inthe train at which stop there is mmts nearby and bus number to go. The whole metro line is newly constructed elevated corridor there is no mmts tracks used

@@rrtp2009Also most of these routes are on empty Nehru ORR and Airport lines and do not server the core of city unlike Chennai or Bangalore. None of the lines are underground. So bound to be faster construction and lesser cost. You d not seem to have the capability to make a correct comparison.
Make a case study of nagpur metro too. Highly used in the city now.
"MGBS to Falaknama" comes under Old City, metro construction will never happen there. Reason: Along the proposed metro-line, lot of litigation sites need to be occupied by government. That is a majorly Muslim-populated sensitive area. Sites are held illegally by many localities. If localities fight against government for occupying lands, that would be risky. So government won't take unnecessary headache.

I think Hyderabad haven't planned phase 2 but Bangalore will again occupy second spot in list of metro length coz phase 2 A is going to be opened by oct 2022 total length of 72 km but 35km will be operational and rest by june 2023 so total length of 86km by oct 2022 Bangalore metro will be second longest
