This video is a masterpiece of storytelling, and as a navigation officer i really really appreciate it. Well done to Johnny and the team behind this video, it's beautiful.
This new video format and new way of story telling Johnny and his team just did here, took me on a very emotional ride I was not expecting. The soundtrack was one of my favorite parts, it was just so flawless. I’m not even sure what to say other than thank you for bringing the content you do on this platform. I experienced emotions I didn’t think were possible to experience watching a KZread video. This is easily now my favorite video you’ve ever done on this channel. I thank you very much for all the hard work and dedication you put into making these videos.
This, is why I love effective storytelling. In just 16 minutes, Johnny and his team were able to piece together a video that tailored to the poetic storytelling of Antarctica: from the emotions of awe for discovery, awareness of our desires to explore, to the music that spoke to the magic and the desolation of this icy continent. I can't help but gush over at this new format, being able to elevate a topic that most of us just pass by into something memorable, something beautiful, something...impactful. Kudos to you Johnny and the whole team behind, superb storytelling here~

Yes, it’s the music but his vocal tone also dramatically changed for this video. It’s not as intense and dramatic as usual. I like the other style just as much but it’s really cool that he can do either style depending on what is appropriate. I think the visuals and the editing style also reflects that more calm/relaxed style choice. This takes a lot of time to get each element to blend well with the rest of the video and it’s clear that he really knows what he’s doing.

i mean we are, the accumulation of knowledge is at least an exponential curve i think there's calculations that even put it at over exponential.
We all know that Johnny’s map game is right up there in the ‘League of Extraordinary Map Gurus’, but is there a word that exists that describes Johnny’s writing used in the narration, and if not, we need one. The voiceover modulation, the storyline and the storytelling in this video are absolutely captivating! You can’t step away from the video at all, you want to stick around to see what’s around the ‘corner’ at every moment of the film.
That was absolutely beautiful!Masterful storytelling, with gorgeous visuals and a soundtrack that hits you deep in the core.
It is mind blowing how we are just able to have free access to documentaries like this one and to knowledge in general. Despite all the things the world is going through right now, we are living in a true Golden Era!
"Beauty" is not usually something that comes to mind when I think of Johnny Harris videos, but I've got to say, this new piece of yours was definitely awe-inspiring, and yes...beautiful. The music, with the nearly lyrical narration layered over a story of human grit, perseverance, and determination, was absolutely a site to behold. You even got me misty-eyed at a point or two.... I love the fact that it's become the best mapped continent on Earth and what that says about the human spirit, as if the universe went out of its way to make it inaccessible and hard, just short of putting up signs saying "don't come here, this isn't for you" and we were like "stuff that, I'm gonna map it even harder now just you watch"

The same human spirit that likes power, control and a step-up against their opposition or the entire world. I did read in to the Antarctica a little bit more after watching the video and the amount of countries wanting to capitalise and control the Antarctica is/was very under-stated at the height in which exploration was in full swing in that point in history. I'm just glad that we as a species came together to unlock the mystery surrounding the Antarctica, it's a vast place on Earth which needed collaboration, courage and smart minds. I really like this video it's definitely one of the best Johnny & Co have created.

mapping is one thing, living is another. its not a sustainable place to live, same with most of the planet actually, cities, towns, villages etc etc practically every place in civilization is set up next to resources we can use or trade, in other words, it is sustainable, and most of the world really is not that, the human spirit is truly effin amazing, that is 100% correct!! but nature is far more amazing, and far more terrifying, i think humans reached state where they take for granted, but we forget we are basically microscopic parasites on a city sized organism called the earth, and its an organism that survived cataclysms literally trillions of times worse than us, and those cataclysms happen from time to time, if we happen to be alive at the same time, like sharks and crocs were when the asteroid killed the dinosaurs or when the Permian extinction happened after a series of dino asteroid-level disasters occured in quick succession, then and only then can we say our spirits our strong and truly tested, so far we may have beaten animals in raw power and intelligence, but experience in surviving the unimaginable hell this planet can make, we arent anywhere near alot of animals, the earth can easily one day just take all of our current advantages with a single catastrophe, and then were back to being really smart cave men that lost most of their nature based skills.
Alright, this video you anticipated for so long that I didn't know whether to buy into the hype or not, but omg, I am still watching it but the production value is insane Ps: Se sei italiano/a e ti piacciono i video di Johnny io sto provando nel mio piccolo a portare contenuti simili in Italia.
