“Take your points” works when you are up or have time to your advantage, but if you are lacking the possession, and the game breaks down to the madden back and forth scoring it so often does, you need the TD to keep up. It depends on how defense goes is all

I like how every time someone talks about top madden players it's always about how they play offense. Like the game is not made to allow for you to flourish defensively (at least against passes). If you lose it's because the other person knows how to break defenses better than you. Like obviously defensive play calling can make it more difficult but there is never a defensive play that will break up a passing play every time

I remember playing 06 Madden they had a feature called playmaker I use that and it was unstoppable with vick I would send my end receiver on a curl then I would scramble to the same side as the receiver on a curl one he ran that route I hit the playmaker send him on a streak and score every single time I did it playmaker feature was nasty if you did right haven't played Madden since 😂

I won’t lie I used to use placement & power but after I found out that placement & accuracy is so much more broken I was able to tear up every defensive I went up against

The wheel corner route glitch has been a thing for years yet nothing fixed.

@@MrCustomabstract it wasn’t BS. Wes pass lead with a bullet up when it should’ve been to the inside of the WR. Hence the direction where the pass went. It’s an easy mistake when you’ve been doing pass lead heavy plays all game and with anxiety building up.

But to add to that even without knockout I’ve seen my WR get blasted all the time on that pass lead to drop the ball. Pretty sure the animation with knockout would’ve done the same.

@arthurllongjr382 The tournaments are in MUT, so everyone is using the best MUT team possible. EA decided to have all the tournaments be MUT because it's free advertising for MUT which makes them tons of money. I wish it were different, but that's just the way it is.

This just shows how bad of a game madden is. Like if you can run the same play against the same defensive play, and get the same result every time then something is wrong with your AI. It's not AI then, it's hard code

For a competitive game, what you described (the same thing happens every time) is ideal. It allows for intelligent adjustments on both sides and makes it more of a chess match.

@@SpruceGooseTVTakes away the fun of the game imo. Players are forced to run the same 2-3 defenses against the same trips formations all game. It gets repetitive, takes little to no skill to do, and it just comes down to who can manipulate the AI more and limit mistakes. Not to mention not everyone likes that style of play. Appreciate the knowledge on your channel btw.

@@Huntman1103 As I mentioned in the previous comment, it actually requires more skill this way. If the AI just adapted to guard certain routes for you, how are you playing skillfully? There is a knowledge gap that goes on about how to guard different routes and also how to beat the different zones that are on the field. It really is a chess match going on, both players are making calculated educated guesses on what they think their opponent is doing and then executing based on that plan. The more the AI plays the game for you, the less of your own skill is involved.

@@SpruceGooseTV I’m sorry, but there’s nothing skillful about finding a set of plays (specifically trips plays) that can manipulate AI and get a guaranteed receiver open every play. Smart yes, but skillful? Not in the slightest. Skillful would be running a set of different plays (coach suggestions for example) and switching it up accordingly to the defense that is present. Not the spamming of trips formations which has been copy and pasted by 90% of Madden players at this point (further proving that it takes little to no skill to do). It’s not realistic and takes away the challenge of playing a game in general. The only thing “challenging” is not forcing a mistake or switching up your play just to go back to the previous one later on down the stretch. It’s all fun and games offensively but becomes a headache once it’s your turn to play defense. The animations and idiotic AI only make it worse. Making adjustments out of the same 5-6 plays every game is not fun, it’s just a repetitive mess that gets boring to play (in my opinion) and lets even the worst players compete with the best. It’s not so much about outsmarting your opponent but rather who knows Madden (not football) better. 100+ plays to run in this game yet 4-5 plays is what separates the “best” Madden players from the normal ones. Sorry for the lengthy comment, but EA has to at least nerf these plays or make defense more realistic.

@@Huntman1103 What you're describing makes sense if you're playing offline against the computer. These plays are great vs the computer, but the pros also know how to stop those plays. That's where the chess match comes in. There is so much thinking go on from both players. The mental challenge of out thinking and outsmarting your opponent makes for a MASSIVE skill gap. I'm not trying to be rude, but if you don't think these guys are highly skilled and critically thinking/processing tons of information at an extremely high level, then you simply don't know what you're talking about. I'm guessing the frustration comes from the fact that it's not a realistic football simulation. EA does players the disservice of calling the game a realistic football simulation when it's obviously not. When you can accept that it's not a football simulation and play it for what it is (a video game), then I think you can appreciate the chess match aspect of competitive Madden.

Ill give you the ability thing makes me feel like it's rng but the manipulation of cpu requires skill. Pair that with the skill of manipulation of the user... Skill bro. For what its worth I was borderline pro when I could play 10 hours a day. Now I get 2 games when I can get on once in a while. I win one maybe

Offensively i used to kill ppl with prime cam newton or mike vick..didnt matter who my teammates were. I could pick anyone apart with prime brady and trash recievers. One year i literally ran every play with derrick henry and it wasnt even close. If you know timing, blocking schemes, and audible, hot routes, etc its so easy.

my rosters and playbooks don’t save in h2h when i edit them in my settings and im on ps4 does that have anything to do with it same with free form passing settings

No free form on ps4. Also, the save in H2H for rosters and playbooks is also broken on ps5. It's a little more consistent on custom game.

On setup 2, do you think that using a HB streak would work also because the trail pulls zones inside

so IND/PHI best offensive playbook in the game? It sucks if you like to run the ball though (ironically IND scheme is called "power run" but I don't see how a lack of FB is a power run...)

They would never do it, but EA needs to limit the number of hot routes you can do pre-snap. It's completely ridiculous what you can do pre-snap and is nothing close to simulation football.

I agree. It’s not how much you know about football or how well you can translate it into a football simulator. It’s about finding gaming exploits or ways to manipulate the dumb a** AI in this game repeatedly. If Madden was any way accurate to football, these would not be the top Madden players. You can literally lose against someone spamming a few busted Trips formations all game. The busted defenses are just as bad. There’s no way in hell I can’t run the ball up the middle (plus a TE on the line) against a 3-3 Dollar defense.
