THIS IS SO VERY EXCITING!!! When I was in Chicago in the '60's, I went to seminary and studied, among other things, Greek and Hebrew. I did much better with Hebrew than Greek for some reason. I've kept my lexicons for both. In high school, I took Spanish for 2 years in So. Calif., where I was able to use it here and there. But I can't get over the excitement that Hebrew has come BACK, from a dead language for so long!!! Wow!

When I was a student at the university in Jerusalem, my friend and I visited Greece. We met the rabbi at the Athens synagogue, and our only common language was Hebrew. So educated Jews all over the world who don't share a language can speak Hebrew and communicate together. I'm American and studied modern Hebrew from first grade through my year in Israel. I've not spoken Hebrew for years, but I still speak fluently to my Israeli neighbor.

Fact: For Rabbis around the world and according to their Torah and scriptures, you are nothing but heathens to be disposed of and they won't step inside your churches for you are not monotheistic. You worship Roman Gods, not the true original message of Christ, which the Romans changed in the Council of Nicaea and persecuted the original monotheistic Christians who were unitarians.

@@xtianityisalie if Ruth wanted to "convert" to Judaism today, she would have to take some classes and pay several hundred dollars and within a few months or years, she might be " converted " but not widely accepted as a Jew. That's a fact. Yeshua is the one Moses spoke of in Deuteronomy 18:15. He is the singular "suffering servant" that Isaiah spoke of. In the gospels, he shows attributes that are God's, controlling the weather, restoring the sight, curing leprosy. In Micah 5:2 the Messiah is to be born specifically in Bethlehem Ephrathah and he's from "ancient times" (God/divinity ) . In Daniel 7:13 the Messiah is coming in the clouds, either there's Two Messiahs or two comings. I'm not God, I have no power to "convert" or convince anyone of anything. I believe and accept Yeshua is the promised Messiah, you don't have to. You have free will. By the way, I said Yeshua is the bridge to the God of Israel not the Jews. Have a blessed day.

They are a unique people and the land is a unique land, it's unbelievable how the became a great nation again in such a short time. The time was right for their return, now they need to return to their God but according to scripture they won't, not good Israel, your messiah is waiting for you to say BARUCK HABA B'SHEM , BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD. I'm not picking on Steve but when he said that "Jesus probably knew the Greek language also", I kind of "snickered". and said to myself, of course Jesus knew Greek and every other language on this planet. Don't forget what happened during the building of the Tower of Babel. He confused all of the people by causing them to all of a sudden start speaking unknown languages, so yes, Jesus speaks every single language on the earth.

Hitler destroyed the yiddish speakers in europe and also the Ladino speakers in greece. The jews had been dispersed for over 2000 years and were returning to their homeland from countries as diverse as Russia, Yemen, India etc and the obvious language was Hebrew - with their attachment to their historic and biblical roots and the language of jewish prayer . Having said that - the 4 main languages spoken in Israel are Hebrew, arabic , English and Russian. As mentioned - Aramiac and ancient greek may also have been widely spoken in the biblical times due to the influence of the large hellenistic communities - but they disappeared and the christian communities didn;t really retain their language with the muslim /arab invasion.

The language of Hebrew is older than 1000 BC. The book of Jubilee's, found at Qumran/ Bethabara, explains that Hebrew was the first language ever!! The entire world spoke Hebrew until Elohim confused the tongue of man at the Tower of Babel. Honestly, I don't care what any scholar or man surmises... I trust The Word that YAHUAH blessed us with!! Why are Scholars lying about qumran?? The Dead Sea Scrolls had nothing to do with essenes!! They were indeed the exiled Temple priests (ie: Levites). Wake up people!! The rocks are indeed crying out!! YAHUAH BLESS YOU IN YAHUSHA'S NAME!! Shalom.

Many jews are european converts to rabbinic judaism, a hybrid off shoot of the original religious practice of the Yahudim (yahudim are the original hebrew followers of Yahuah, Yah, Yaweh, etc)...Because rabbinic judaism are grounded on all sorts of traditions and their own rabbinic interpretations that were not practiced and not allowed by the original hebrew religion .
