I'm focusing on weighted ring push ups right now. Like you said, I love the simplicity of just adding a little weight for overloading. Are there any considerations for weight on the rings? Should I still do RTO? I've noticed some people quit doing them with a load, but I've never head an explanation why.

Because I am very heavy & obese (far over 180 kg) I've started with "push-aways" from the wall! You might laugh, but it's the way to start. And yes, there is progress. 🏆

Proper form and sticking to it over the long term are the most important things. Keep up the good work! Nobody worth listening to will be laughing at your efforts to lose weight. You start where you are able to and work to where you wish to be. This is true for everybody. Your starting point being different does not make your efforts any less valuable.

Dude, respect for taking on a challenging journey towards improving yourself! And you're doing it absolutely correct, gotta begin getting the nervous system ready for progression and overload. It's the consistent small steps that matters.

nice! 💪
this format of video on one exercise and the variations is incredible. Would love to see more like it! thank you
The scale idea is brilliant.
The superior weighted push-ups setup is a backpack with the weight shifted onto the neck like a highbar squat, it will make the weight heavier, bias the stretch more and won’t inhibit your movement. I love deficits with blocks, if you’re a bench guy but don’t have specialty bars these can make a great cambered bar substitute, you have the options of neutral and revers grips as well.

You're absolutely accurate having the weight higher up makes the weight heavier. The video was completely wrong on the weight distribution, being bottom heavy with more of your weight on you legs in fact makes it easier to do pushups. I would actually ignore the first minute of his video.
Thank you for making this video. I am beginning my fitness journey and can only do pushups against an incline because I am not strong. Thank you for showing me the progression and how to improve.
You know it's a good video when it answers the question in its title within the first 20 seconds, and then proceeds to elaborate. No bullshit, right to the point. My appreciation and subscription is yours.
One of the best constructed and continually informative videos i've ever seen, well done!
I like and appreciate the delivery technique you used in this video. You provided the answer immediately and elaborated on it. Loved it!

Awesome. Thanks for answering the question straight off in the video.
Subbed for getting to the point
amazing video as always
mad respect for answering the question in the first 20 seconds!
This is amazing. I was always wondering.
Currently doing your BBW routine. 3 weeks in and today on the 3rd day of the 3rd week I was able to start doing normal flat ground pushups, progressing from doing the knee variation. Been enjoyable to begin to notice changes in my strength. Looking forward to one day doing a lot more of these more difficult variations.

@@MrDcpishereSo he talked about how liking the video boosts performance, and how a floor pushup uses 69% of your bodyweight, and the 69 is a also sex position in which both parties perform oral sex on each other at the same time. So the joke has several layers. 69 is a common meme/joke number in English speaking internet circles
Bro this is the most informative video of pushup variations and what they do and effect i have seen yet. thank you FitnessFAQs
I've had rotator injuries as far as I can remember. This video gives me hope to start small and work into it. Thank you for this.

I subbed purely because you answered the title, immediately. Thank you.
Answers the question in the first 20 secs. Amazing video
Great video... kudos
The best push up video of all time. Thank you, Daniel.
i thought id have to sit through this whole video to get my answer thank you for imediately answering the question
Great Work! You will become even stronger with time and effort and will be crushing all of the most challenging movements!!! Way to start smart and build!
This is a fantastic video....
Hi Daniel, great video per usual! A better title might be "bodyweight pushing masterclass"💥
I like how he just delivers the answer the instant that video starts playing!
I clicked out of curiosity, stayed cause frankly this guy explained more in 9 min of general principles and practical applications than almost any other fitness video I've ever seen. Easily earned a sub if for nothing else not wasting my time.
My two push-up variations of choice are: diamond push-ups between the top of a low post and a step (like a bridge, very unstable), and that variation using three boxes at 7:30 but front boxes more separated and slightly bending the knees (Daryl Conant/Gironda style, that gives you more stretch and depth). This variations keep me in the 12-18 rep range which is the higher I like to keep elbows pain free.

@sacriste I do only one triceps exercise. Triceps extensions in rings. The idea is that pushing exercises is enough for 2/3 of triceps. But doesn't do much for triceps longum. Triceps extensions do much for triceps longum, and is good for finishing of the rest of triceps. So, I do triceps extensions after ring pushups and pike pushups. I think my triceps has a balanced look from this simple program. I think of it as doing minimum for an good enough result
Respect the quick answer rather than stringing us along. Subbed.
Thank you! I've wondered this for awhile and never bothered to look it up or anything.
I never knew watching ten minute of properly executed push-up could bring such satisfaction
Amazing video! You never disappoint us!! Respect Deserves more thumbs up!!!!
First fitness channel I subscribe to. Thanks! Calisthenics is appealing to me because I don't like the crowded gym.

Last few months I've been taking the time to break my habit of over eating and large food portions. This video was fed to me and now I've decided it's time to start doing push-ups.
Brilliant, finally someone thought of this.
Nice video. I want one for each major movement.
Mad Respect for answering the title's question immediately.
Proper strict and tight body pushups are one of the most taxing exercises for me. Not necessarily in the muscles but for the nervous system.
Kudos for answering the question in the title immediately instead of using it as bait to keep the viewer watching.
The stability with those weighted rings is phenomenal
wow good vid
I have been doing bench press one work out and weighted push-ups the next workout and have been getting very positive results
❤❤❤ pure class
Cool video.
Awesome Content! I would love to see you try the “Bring Sally Up” challenge. Thanks ❤
excellent
Can we respect the fact that he straight up answered the question and THAN went into the details.
Nice! 🤠💪👍
A nice percentage 👌
Great vid. Ive always been curious about how much weight pushups are. Ive been doing pushups for 36 year now- they are so good.
Great video thanks, amazing physique nice role model
Weighted pushups can also be done with bands. Probably not effective as a plated weight belt but eliminates the need for a deficit setup
Any advice on progressing in rep quantity? In fact, is this even a valuable thing to pursue, say, to progress from standard floor to unilateral or more explosive pushup variations, and if not, what would be a good rep benchmark to reliably reach before looking into progression? Out of curiosity, for someone as advanced as yourself, what would be your floor pushup rep range till failure? Thanks
FitnessFAQs + GymnasticsMethod + SeanNalewanyj is the holy trinity of KZread fitness for me. With such quality content one simply has no choice but to progress. Thanks these channels, at 38 I am stronger and more resilient than ever.
