Vlad's problem is launch angle. He can hit the ball hard and has excellent bat control. But huge differences year to year in homers because he doesn't get loft to the ball. If he could consistently hit the ball in the air, he could have a 600+ homer career with how well he hits the ball.

I watched him this spring and early on, he's hitting alot more balls in the air, and hitting the ball consistently hard whether it's a hit or line drive out is another story but when you do that, good things are going to happen. If he keeps this approach him, I think we will see a .330, 35+ hrs. He's not trying to hit HRs this year either, not trying to pull everything so he's spraying the ball around more which is key for him too I think.

I don't want him hitting 50 bombs, I want him hitting 330 with 35 bombs. He's best when he's a hitter, not a himerun hitter

Senior could swing at balls in the dirt and get hits. Junior's at his best when patient and analytical. If that's his approach this year, look out.

Vladdy last season swung at pitchers non strikes and this season is swinging at his own strike zone capabilities........

exactly. when vladdy isn't swinging at the garbage pitches, especially the ones where he really tries to force it and chase, he's likely gonna get a pitch he can hit and he crushes those. his runner up mvp year his approach was very patient and steady.
