Guy Madison was a well liked movie and TV star . I had heard that he was apprecitive of his fans . No he was not a great actor , but neither was Tab Hunter nor Kim Novak oooooooooor the icon Rita Hayworth . But these stars had something that they can't teach in drama school and that's charisma . We loved them . Period . And please don't spread 'gossip' which this clip is .

But from this post, he was much like Elizabeth Taylor .Beautiful on the outside, but even more beautiful in his heart ❤. Obviously he did everything possible for his first wife. I don't really care about his sexuality. If he was or wasn't gay, who gives a shit? What I do care about is that yes, he was so incredibly handsome but due to his reckless personal habits his health in later life was atrocious. He died at age 74 from emphysema. Here are the stats on emphysema. Only 3% of smokers will get emphysema but 97% with the disease were or are smokers. One form has nothing to do with smoking but it's completely unrelated. And there ya have it. He smoked like a chimney and paid the ultimate price.

Well, dog-boy Lassie as set aside, Alan, Jeff Miller (aka Tommy Rettig) absolutely was bi- ('ambi-' as more definitionally correct) -- zero question! It is said by ones in-the-knowing, that he was very well regulated TO BOTH amorously; no complaints regarding -- having ever been heard -- as any discouraging word. (You can see that I avoid usage of straight-triggering terminology, and so do here euphemize sans shame?) It is my fervid hope that Western sensibilities come to their collective senses individually or severally, re this KEY vital subject -- THE ONE so often proving of great secretive torment to males generally. He in a way was right for that sort of role-a confused returning soldier with uncertainty about where he stood and where he was going after being in war service and glad to have come home but amongst everyone including his family who had no understanding of what he had been in . Someone like Clark Gable etc would have been all wrong .Maybe the studios were seeking another Dana Andrews after "The Best Years of Our Lives" . Typical of them to do a second type of B version and then the critics complain, singling out that actor as they did with derisive remarks if it wasn't as successful .

It is rather obvious that Guy Madison is not gay. To get into the movies, he had to work with a business manager who introduced him to producers. @J L The gossip almost never involves reality. There were almost no rumors about Rock Hudson being gay. Why? Because the idea didn't turn people on. Rumor rarely touches reality.

  • @thomasdevine867

@Lee Browning My point is that rumors about the sexuality of movie stars are less about the star's actual life and much more about the eroctic fantasies of the audience. Cary Grant lived at a time when bisexuality was barely a concept in the broader culture. Yet the rumors about Grant were never that he was gay, but that he was bi. Meanwhile, although his living with Randolph Scott is given as proof of Grant's bisexuality it is only allowed to be proof of rumors about Scott. Why? Because people get off on seeing Grant as bi and Scott as het. The desires acknowledged or otherwise of the audience have nothing to do with the sexuality of the star. Rumors reflect the needs of the gossip, not the reality of those gossip about.

They just used and abused and cheated on their wives.. Men who do that were scum, and they’re still cowardly scum. They totally wreck the women they marry emotionally, and often physically- now many of these men feel entitled to have a female slaving over them while they cruise for gay sex- which is total narcissism and selfishness. They lie and lie and lie to women. Horrible people then and now. If you don’t like women, stay away from them. It’s not that hard.

Those are likely safe bets, Sandra but, some number likely fancied you dear ladies too! (How could this not be the case???) I've a photograph of myself with Guy when 7 years of age (no crush!). He was signing a photo for me and had his big six-shooter right in front of him, right there on the table. Although this was all of seventy-two years ago, I remember exactly what my thoughts were: "I could grab that gun, run, and I'd HAVE IT" thinking naught a thought of any consequences. Better thoughts did prevail however and alas, I did not.

Who know what he did for Willson to get parts as well as other actors in his corral ? Maybe his marriages were to hide his real nature. I hope someday someone will explain to me or us what does it matter where a guy puts or does not put his pee pee? Why is this a topic of conversation? What does this issue have to do with how one performs his job UNLESS it has his pee pee involved? I seriously doubt "Guy Madison was gay", he was married and had a child out of wedlock. Nonetheless, who cares? Guy Madison was not a great actor, that is clearly observed, however, he was quite good looking. MANY people make mistakes in choosing a mate and pay dearly for that bad choice. Why should Guy Maidson be any different? No story here, can we all move on?

@@cynthianolder3557 That 'gold standard' of knowing -- "knowledge certain and true" -- i.e. that to which we are allowed to attest in courts under oath, is a mighty rare thing to possess these days, by comparison to what most accept as that but which ultimately is insubstantiable. So, by that measure we're all fairly limited as to what can be believed and mostly better as not. But, then again we've lots of circumstantial 'smoke' coming from the Hollywood people, their Legend and Lore. Who can KNOW really much of anything, now that most all who had witnessed and heard that were there, have now passed away? We'll believe what we desire-to, accepting that as a 'real thing.' Pitiable and limiting, tho comforting to an extent I suppose.
