People are so surprised by the fact that celebrities are just people. They’re people with money, notoriety, and influence…but still deeply flawed human beings. Granted they have publicists who can spin a star’s poor judgment and make it look irrelevant and boring, while we are stuck dealing with all the consequences of our own mistakes. But when it comes down to it, they aren’t that special or superior. They deal with heartbreak, betrayal, failure, uncertainty etc like everyone else. BUT..when people say “money doesn’t buy happiness.” I remind them that though it doesn’t buy happiness, it DOES buy options and the ability to make multiple choices. And options often do make people happier than those who don’t have choices. Also, I’d rather cry in my Bentley than on my bicycle…

Melissa is still alive & doing well, actually. She's simply a private person now, after growing up in the spotlight. Joanie was Amazing. I was so sad when she passed. I can't believe it's been almost a decade already. What a wit!! But also a kind lady, mentoring the younger set. Loved how sweet she was to newbies of the time, like Zendaya. God must have needed more laughter in Heaven, the day he brought Joan home. 💙 Rest in Peace, to all of these folks. They may have been rich, famous & beautiful. But they were still as human as you & I. Wishing peace & comfort to the friends & family each of them left behind.

Joan's 'side' of that story is EXTREMELY suspect and she left out a LOT of the details of that situation, including her negotiating to get her own show while also negotiating to become Johnny's full-time temporary host, and presumably his successor; and then when she got her own show she tried to poach people who worked on Johnny's show, including his writers. They may have had an affair, and he's known to have had a lot of issues with women, but her saying "I didn't understand it" is disingenuous at best and unfair to Johnny at best. Neither was a perfect person, but she behaved atrociously before during and after she got her own show.
