I've mentioned this in another video, but the biggest problem I have with Haschel is he doesn't do anything Dart already doesn't... he just does everything better than him. That means that if you want to run Haschel you're either giving up Albert's Rose Storm or the superior magic stats that Meru and Shana provide, you can't have it all... and I think the devs knew this, which is why they gave Haschel such monstrously high stats across the board.

Haschel + Albert is how I’ve always run my team. Never had any real problems once you get reasonable levels. I can get through most of the final boss with special from Dart and then there are no other problems. Not saying it’s at all efficient, but I like that team.

I've been playing with a mod to remove party restrictions, so Haschel replaces Dart for me and I still get to use Albert and Meru. It's predictably quite easy, but still a ton of fun. It's been my dream party since I was kid (before I knew they were good) and it's awesome to finally be able to live it out.

@@AleXanDraPR369 its the PC version called Severed Chains. You have to do some workarounds to avoid cutscene crashes after some bosses, but otherwise you can do the whole game with whatever party you want.

There's a situation where the thunder fist weapon is useful. There's a random enemy or two who are immune to thunder dealing zero damage, but the upside is that Haschel can attack it over and over to build up his addition numbers.

He was my first play through character. I liked him from where you first moment you meet him. He is an old man wanting to find his daughter while taking care of the party.

"I hate myself." 🤣🤣🤣 Rose is my favorite, with Meru being second. But that's about right. 🤷🤣

I think out of all the characters, I had the hardest time getting the timing right with Haschel's additions. Which is a shame because they're all really cool.

His Hex Hammer was the worst, however, the upside is, once you got to Omni Sweep, if I remember right, has no Counter/Tricky O button press.

Albert’s Blossom Storm’s harder because it can be countered at a really bad time which is extremely difficult to break through

@@Rusty_Katana For whatever reason, I never had difficulty with Albert or Lavitz's additions. Haschel was really the only one I couldn't consistently get the timing down.

@@Istar47 It was probably the Hex Hammer just like @Legato341 said. Because Omni Sweep cannot be countered and you’ll have an easier time pressing the buttons. When i was using Albert not so long ago to get his Blossom Storm to lv5, i gave him the Ultimate Wargod so the addition was 100% successful without the counterattack. That really helped

All these new videos has me hopeful for a LoD2 announcement

I just used him and meru on my last playthrough and I'd just feed him power up and speed up never missing an attack with dart as a second main attacker to deal damage while meru did healing and item with some attacks when applicable. I didn't use dragoon form too much but I learned how to get perfects everytime

Haschel comes at a higher level then your whole party even if you grind (unless you grind a ton) And it would be weird to hold his later dragoon against him when theres meru and kongol right there. Who get them even later. Especially compared to meru where it's basically halfway through the game. Edit: meant to put Kongol out Shanna for some reason

I remember when I was a kid I always had him in my party because of his ability to stun with one of his weapons. My dumb ass kid brain thought it was so broken, I never changed his weapon throughout the game -.-

When I was playing this on the PS1 when it first came out, I had GameSharked in some Ultimate Wargods so I didn't have to struggle with additions. I found that with his last addition maxed, he actually does more damage in human form than in dragoon. At least with physical attacks anyway. Since then, I've pretty much played every run as a human only run I keep the versatility of being human and the huge damage that comes with not being locked the Dragoon form. It seems like Kongol is the one who benefits the most physically from becoming a dragoon. Please note, I am only talking about psychical damage here. Not magic. Meru and Shana are absolute powerhouses with magic in their dragoon forms. Haschel is probably the third best, namely since his spells focus on single targets. Edit: While I used a GameShark back in the day, I don't need it now. I spent a lot of years practicing the additions. Am currently playing this on my PS4, about to go to the prison for the second time and have two Legend Casques thanks to grinding addition levels and farming 00parts.

That's a downside of TLoD, Dragoons are great on early game but pales after we get everyone final addition. If we can transform and detransform at will, maybe we'll use it more on later bosses. :/

@@kryoter i think it would be better if we could do more than just attack or use a spell when in dragoon forms. Even just guarding would help. Give the Dragoon form some better versatility to actually make it better than the human form. For something that according to the lore the should be so powerful, it feels too restrictive for me. Can't use an item or block. Is that fancy armor stopping their hands from working? Is that why they can't block or throw an item? It doesn't make sense. It could definitely be improved with a sequel or remake. Would love to see that.

You forgot to mention that status conditions for example poison is automatically healed when transformed into a Dragoon. One of the reasons to transform.

Haschel and Meru is my favourite combination.

My first playthrough was Dart, Lavitz and Rose. In later playthroughs, I subbed out Rose for Haschel and was shocked at how much easier the game was. At first I thought it was because I was more experienced with the game and as a player in general but no, I learned that Haschel really did just omni sweep enemies that well!

it took me a couple of playthroughs for me to really appreciate Haschel, but now I often find him in my final party. I do like exploiting elemental weaknesses though, so I'll let him take a backseat when I know I can nuke a boss by bringing Shana or Meru with big magical damage! Really enjoying these analysis videos :)

Super fast, super strong, and great damage multiplier. Omni-sweeps for days.

In addition to all of this, Haschel's body armors also tend to give him phys-evade. 20% or so. This makes Haschel potentially very 'bulky' against physical attacks, as while it is RNG-dependent, it can at times save him from taking a lot of damage!

I also had to go test it now that I have progressed further in my playthrough.. I just couldn't believe Atomic Mind is actually a 10mp for 25% damage spell .. but it is. It deals half the damage of other single-target 10mp spells. They did Haschel dirty on his spells. At least Kongol's spells are honest with their power level.

I feel it's also good to point out that some of his armors are unique in that they give good evasion bonuses. With the right combination of armor and accessory (as long as you don't mind not maximizing his defense), you can practically force the opponent to flip a coin just to hit him. It's been a number of years since I played, so I can't remember the names of that equipment, otherwise I would list them here.

My party was always Dart, Haschel, and the third I mixed up between Albert and Rose.

My favorite scene with Haschel is when he performs his ultimate move to break the huge rock wall and then throws his back out. lol, and let's not forget he is deff Darts grandfather.

If you use the special dragoon transformation with thunder fist equipped, Haschel's dragoon addition does 50% more damage. Something destroyer mace doesn't do is affect damage while in dragoon form. That gives Haschel the second strongest dragoon addition right after divine dragoon and that damage is respectable.

Haschel + Albert is how I ALWAYS run my team. Probably not ideal, but I don’t care. It’s fun and I like it.

If Fargo abandoned piracy and became a monk

Man, I love having him in my party. My most recent run used him and Meru and maxed out their speed. It was insane

I've loved this game ever since it came out. Right now I'm running meru al and of course dart..gonna bend Faust over my knee then head to the end game for the platinum on ps5 . Like ur content keep up the good work

Haschel's D-Attack is also better than his regular attack for like most of the game. It's not until a leveled-up Hex Hammer or Omni-Sweep that I noticed his regular attacks surpassing it. This means that, outside of Flurry of Styx, he would frequently have between 100 and 200 SP and be able to dragoon for a free damage bonus; a mastered Summon 4 Gods gets you this every other turn, at the cost of a weaker addition. By the time his D-Attack is eclipsed, his magic is ready to shine.

Haschel, Maru and Dart is the best party set up IMO

Dart - Lavitz/Albert - Haschel is my go to team mix every time.

Dart, Haschel and Meru. Best party line up, Hands down. Shana/Miranda and Albert are solid but one is way too squishy and the other can’t take magic damage to save his life and he’s slow. And yes, both issues can be addressed and worked around via Legend Casque and other things but it takes waaay too long to get money to pay for said items.

Yea man, my favorite team is also Dart/Haschel/Meru playing purely physical damage and addition. My second best team is Dart/Shana/Meru with Shana destroying everything with Psyche bomb X, and i use this team to defeat Faust without equipping any legend items.

Haschel's magic attack is almost equal to Dart's, but his dragoon magic attack modifier is 50% higher, giving him above average dragoon magic almost as strong as Meru's.

One thing about Haschel, he's definitely the best role player in the party. He can be the dps, a speedy tank (since he has no true elemental weaknesses, but not physically as good as Kongol), healer (item wise), mage (item-wise, but not better than the girls). Just a jack-of-all-trades.

I would love to see a martial arts expert perform all of haschel’s addition in real life. Summon four gods will be so sick.

Lately when I do my runs of this game I almost never use the dragoons for anyone mostly because the additions are more fun and eventually they're stronger anyway.

Also if you equip him with the bandit's shoes he's unstoppable

Haschel with the bandit shoes, bandit ring, legend armor, legend casque and destroyer mace is a god. Dude is basically unkillable even if at 1/4 HP, has insane speed and does massive damage. And if HP is an issue, can just swap bandit ring for a physical ring and he is still the best physical damage dealer in the game.

Tbh any character with Legend Casque and Armor of Legend is almost unkilable. Even Meru with her pathetic HP.

@@kryoter Very much so, HP doesn't matter as much at the end game with the legend equips. Speed then becomes the most important and valuable stats. That's why Meru, Shana and Haschel are the top 3 best characters. They have high speed and damage. Kongol and Albert's high HP becomes redundant, and their low speed becomes their achilles heel, causing them to do less damage overall compared to the top 3.

I think his dragon should have had a 100% chance to stun especially being a Thunder dragon. That would at least make for a little more variety.

I love Haschel so much, the man is the Jackie Chan of the LoD universe and he more than deserves that title... and if we ever get a LoD live action show/movie, Jackie Chan should totally play as him.

Omg... i've always thought JC is the perfect cast for him if there is a LoD movie or series. I guess its quite obvious eh... perhaps they designed Haschel with JC in mind. But then again, JC is probably too old to play that role, maybe Donnie Yen would be a good 2nd choice.

@@skychaos87 Donnie Yen is a good choice, but so is Johnny Yong Bosch. He is a very good actor and is still in great shape and does his own stunts.

I used Kongol and Albert my first playthrough back when I was 9 or 10, and the game was extremely difficult. About 5 years later I played through with Meru and Haschel, and the game was so easy that I was actually disappointed. I went from obscenely long battles of attrition to stomping the game with fumbled additions. I was really happy to not spend a month stuck at the Zenebatos boss, at least.

I think Omni Sweep is the hardest ultimate addition to execute

I think the kongol vid should be next, my first playthrough was him and haschel because I just thought they were the two coolest lol

I absolutely love to use Haschel. My personal dream team is (or was) Dart, Albert, Meru. I wouldn’t be shy to admit that my dream team now would be Dart, Haschel, Meru. I like to use Albert’s Rose Storm spell to halve all damage, but i only can use 3 members so….

Sony please create a legend of dragoon remake we fans would love it

Dart rose Albert all day my favorite lineup

the problem with legend of dragoon is that u get some characters soo late in the game its a chore to level their additions and then dragoon. compared to say the wind and dark who are with u pretty much since the beginning. even the light shana is hard cuz there are many times she isnt with u. like i think over my many playthroughs i only ever took someone like kongol to be part of the main 3. doesnt help characters like hachel and meru got some hard ass additions. also rose gets the dragon buster so its really hard not to use her. she is fast, has a heal, does good damage. give kongel like the boots that increase his speed to the point he is as fast as some of the other characters. he becomes a huge force

I played this on ps2. What battle freezes when you Dragoon with Haschel? Or do you mean the Lenus/Regole battle where NO ONE can Dragoon without a chance of the game freezing after the battle?

It was lenus! But also initially on ps5 it was glitched and all dragoons crashed it.

Fun fact about the messed up translation and numbers, in German it's fare Worse, not even are nearly all the mistakes taken over from English, they even added some wrong names for attack like, hashls 3th attack has the name of albart / lavits first attack, and meru first 2 attack are named differently of what she is saying, quite funny Also there is an item that brakes the game and freeze everything. That one item you can buy everywhere since the start that stops enemy's to attack one character or something. You can use it outside of battle and it brakes the game, don't know if it's in english too.

Objectively haschel is prolly the best character but I tend to notnuse him because I like being able to exploit weakness while in dragoon form. But my current live stream just ended disc 3 and I might use him in the final party as Melbu is non elemental anyway

*says Lavitz, shows Albert* Honestly, its really tragic that they are literally the same in every regard. Didn't even feel the loss.

Please do Meru's analysis next. Because I'd like to use her, but honestly I spend more time reviving her than actually using her.

I actually really like a Shana/Miranda/dart/Haschel team until you get Meru/dart/Haschel. Kind of glass cannon and a good alternative to my other preferred party of lavitz/Albert/dart/kongol. Rose is so awesome but so hard to fit into a party, especially after the mid point.

I'm just loving all the drag race inserts haha

Haschel is so broken. Haschel with a casque, legend armour, phantom shield along with that destroyer mace and Omni sweep is insane. All you gotta do is level up and get him a bunch of health and play around with him either in yellow health or red (if you’re feeling lucky) and he just destroys everything.

Haschel has no weakness and so much benefits. His Dragoon magic boost of 200-220% is amazing. He his simply the best choice for single target damage. Just one criticism is that some of his additional are difficult to master, but it's worth.

My team every play through is haschel dart lav/alb

I played when I was younger and always tried everyone balanced. I'm pushing him front and center this run and at first it was tough early game but around disc 3 he feels broken. Easiest playthrough ever after the first 2 discs which felt harder this go around

He's good. But I had a really hard time doing his later additions.

Haschel is op as hell. Especially with the right gear.

We need a remastered version of this game minimum or a second game 😏

If it were me, I'd prefer a sequel. If I got to write it, I'd want it to be about a set of new characters with an older Dart acting as the Obi Wan/Haschel of the story. Maybe he and Shana lived happily for a good number of decades had kids, maybe even grandkids, but Shana predeceased him (maybe even tie this to her lore as the Moon Child), but now that she's gone, Dart's either the new elder of their village or he's decided to go adventuring again. Then he meets this kid, who looks like a lot like younger Dart, and this guy is the new MC. Maybe the world is in trouble again because Soa doesn't like it when a scheduled apocalypse doesn't happen. Along the way, new MC meets a girl with long dark hair. Or meets her when he meets Dart because she's Dart's youngest daughter or granddaughter. And then we can imply this new pair is Sieg and Rose reborn and they inherit their old dragoon spirits.

i have no idea at all what this game is or what is being talked about, the algorithm just decided i was gonna be here and it does seem interesting

Haschel can punch a door in half, but DOESN'T 1 punch everything? Bruh, Yes he's broken!

Mechanically he's a little above middle. But lore wise I'd like to think Haschel is actually OP and has been holding back the entire game. He punched a rock wall to bits with sheer focus in the Home of Gigantos while making light of it, and had the ability to counter 4 Gods Destruction after being subjected to it only a few times. I'd even bet he knew how to use it but refused only because he'd succumb to shura or bloodlust kinda like how Kanzas was. Melbu Frahma won't last a turn if Haschel used 4 Gods Destruction in dragoon form on him.

Meru is the best member!

I almost never play him other than to level up his Additions. My boss team is always Shana/Miranda & Lavitz/Albert (after Shana gets her Spirit). His Dragoon magic is kinda terrible, single target only, no other effects. Yea, he's third fastest... but he's still 3rd, in a party where you only get to chose 2 characters. Maybe stick him in if you get bored of the timing of Meru's Additions? He's just a bit... meh for me.

I used to be sure that he was Darts grandfather but I'm not so sure anymore. His claire had dark hair and was a fighter. Darts mom had blonde hair and didnt seem like a fighter. Could you make a video expanding on the dart and Haschel family theory?

Dart's mom had dark hair, I think. But I do recall one flashback with her where she was a blonde. But in later disks, she had dark hair and wore a lighter shade of purple. I think the game did a pretty good job of implying Dart was Haschel's grandson with what info we had. The song Shana signs that Dart used to sing to her when they were kids was the deal sealer.

@@Borderose both of Darts parents had the same hair color as him, a dirty blonde look. According to Albert 4% of all women in that time were named claire. The game is never really clear on it for a reason, to make it controversial. Dart and Haschel have met before and were companions before the start of the game so Dark could have taught Haschel the song or it could have been a somewhat well known song. Everybody knows baby shark it doesnt mean we are related

@@maximos905 Dart sang it to Shana as kids. When she was basically just his little sister. The song is a lullaby. Shana met Haschel long after Dart and Haschel travelled together first. But Haschel knew the song she was singing and it was apparently, narratively speaking, important enough for the story to hang a lampshade on and devote a scene to. Haschel had his doubts before the song. After it, I think he was pretty sure. Haschel wouldn't be that surprised if Shana was just humming one of Mille Seseau's top 100 hits.

Pretty good now try to keep this style of video where go over Thier strengths and weaknesses and suggestion Team mates to cover Thier weaknesses or play to Thier strengths. I don't mean to so critical just I don't like we people don't say the full facts

Just finished the game it took me 23years lol I couldn't beat the Divine Dragon when I was a lad 😂 now with the rewind thing on the ps5 it feels like cheat but yeah I platinumed it 👍

Haschel is one of the best characters in the game, his superior to Dart in every way except in his dragoon form and magic Haschel has great Attack with his omi sweep at 501% modifier damage plus his high speed makes him one of the best attackers in the game His only weakness is that his magic is average and because Thunder hasn’t got an opposing element his dragoon isn’t useful, none of his dragoon spell are anything special Overall Haschel is one of the best physical fighters and deals great damage with only lacking in magic

........yall taking this way too seriously 😂😂😂. As both a LOD and Martial arts vet, Hachel is easily my favorite character and gets the most play time easily. The hell with "stats" i go with passion, relatability, swag, melee or bo staff characters (since im a Martial artist who specializes with Bo Staffs🥋🔥💯✊🏿) and my overall love for a characters design. This is true in Street Fighter, Tekken etc and I make all of my characters. I don't ride the "tier train". I am the one who brings out the potential of the character through my passion for them and my mindset. 💯 #HachelForLife
