My Dad introduced me to Wild Turkey. For years at deer camp, we would do a blind taste test pitting Wild Turkey against five other bourbons that were much more expensive, including a Paddy's and Wild Turkey never lost!

We’re simple folks. We see Wild Turkey love, we hit thumbs up. 👍 Turkey is probably our absolute favorite distillery. Hard to beat the value, availability, and quality-the fact that it fits our palates so well is a major bonus. Great video!

Good video as always. I love rare breed. Favorite whiskey so far. After watching this I ran out and got a bottle of russels 10 for $29 and turkey 101 for $20. Russels is lower proof but 10 years old. Turkey 101 is higher proof but a mix of 6, 7, and 8 year bourbons. Both were excellent and extremely difficult to tell apart. Love the no 4 alligator char influence from the barrel. As long as you get a good bottle, seems you can’t go wrong either way as long as you like the WT profile. Cheers!

I did this same video about a month ago and It's good to see other opinions. I couldn't get the Kentucky Spirit, but had the Longbranch instead. I really like WT products and it was fun to do a blind tasting. Great video. Congrats on 5K.

101 is my daily, can’t beat it for the price. Love Russell‘s as well.

Great video- I’m a huge Turkey Head!! The Russels Single Barrel is my favorite also. Really like the entire lineup. I do like the Russels 10 as a daily sipper. The interesting thing, is that’s even my friends who aren’t fans of the 10 year love the nose! But that is the beauty of whiskey- we occasionally like different stuff!!! If not we would all be drinking the same 4/5 bottles!

Yes!!!! Love this blind! Give me any Wild Turkey and I’m happy! All of these are readily available for enjoyment. I also am not a huge 10 year RR fan, but pair with a darker cigar, it’s oak and bitterness takes on a better taste. Cheers! Congrats on the growth. Proud to be a sub since 500.

I agree with the comment about Russell’s 10. When I first tried it I wasn’t impressed, and the more I drank it the more I disliked it. With that being said I will finish the bottle.

My current favorite is a Russel's Reserve Single barrel store pick. Good review.

Never had a bad bottle from Wild Turkey. Love their product.

Without seeing the end yet I'm saying Russell's SiB... that's my favorite!

Wild Turkey is my second favorite distillery behind Buffalo Trace. I love the spicy sweet cherry notes you get. Russell's Reserve 10 year I actually like more than 101 because the cherry note is not a medicinal one. Rare Breed is my number 1. I tend to stay away from single barrel offerings because I've had a couple bottles, not Wild Turkey products, be subpar. Great video!

With my pocketbook I only drink WT 101 and Rare Breed, because I just plain like them a lot. I appreciate your insights.

I've done this very blind twice and had slighty different results each time. As you said "what tastes good today". IMHO, blinds like these are the hardest because all 5 have the same mashbill. If you did the Wild Turkey ryes in a blind, it'd be much easier due to those subtle nuances not being so subtle. Great job by my favorite channel with my favorite distillery and my favorite bourbon. (#3........are ya kidding me bro?) lol Cheers!

Huge fan of Wild Turkey..... I had the pleasure of a great Russels single barrel and have really come to enjoy the Longbranch line.

By coincidental colliding of Glencarins I had just opened a Rare Breed to celebrate another day of retirement and saw this older review! Enjoy all the Turkeys but definitely the RB is awesome…. Interesting to see how y’all have grown from 5,000 to current 23,000+. Thanks very much!

Awesome comparison. I have not tried WT 101, but had my fair share of the other ones. I agree 100 % with the ranking. Russell's single barrel is on of my favorites.

I LOVE me some Turkey I've got all of them including the Rye,. The Russel's Single Barrel Private Barrel Selection from Spec's is my favorite FANTASTIC!

My favorite of the bunch is definitely the Kentucky Spirit. I’ll have to find a Russell’s SB at some point.

Russell's 10yr, Rare Breed, and nice barrel picks of Kentucky Spirit are some of my favorite bourbons out there. Russell's 10 is one of the best values in bourbon.

I have all the Turkey bottles in this stream except Kentucky Spirit. Been waiting for that one for a while. 101,Rare Breed, Russell's Reserve Singel Barrell are just amazing but I wish Russell's would release the 10 year at 100 proof or above.

Agree with you on Russell’s 10, had the same experience.

I had a bottle of the Kentucky Spirit (Old bottle) It was excellent.

101 has always been my favorite. It was the flavor that kept me loyal.

Before it even starts, I am excited for this vid. I don't have a Kentucky Spirit on my shelf but I got the other 4. Might give this a try myself tonight (you know, for science or something).

Good stuff! Have you ever has a store pick of the RR SiB? Those seem to have much more depth for me than the regular RR SiB.

I’ve got 2 of the Russell’s single barrel picks. Both are good but 1 is phenomenal.

I just bought my first bottle of Russell's 10. Found it for $32. I have already had 2 bottles of Russell's single barrel, so I guess I went backwards. I actually really like the 10 year. I did a blind with Russell's 10 year and Knob Creek 12 year, and although I picked the 12 year over the 10, I found them to be closer than I would have thought. Now, I kind of consider the Russell's 10 year as a poor man's KC12.

My KC 12 is so dang good. My favorite bourbon for sure because of the complexity of flavor.

Love the Russell’s 10. Not bad imo.

My favorite distillery. Would love to see something similar for the ryes (podsible I'm missing it). Love Rare Breed rye.

That is the order I would put my bottles in as well. The only difference, I love the Russels 10 that I have.

I have them all and all of them are great.

The only two I have tried are WT101 and Russells 10 year. I think the Russells blows away WT101, but to each his own. Going to try the Rare Breed next

I actually quite like the RR 10 year old. My only gripe is the low proof. I like to mix a little Rare Breed into it. Very tasty! Wish they would make RR 10 year old 101 proof also. I can still get it for $29.99 though most places sell it for $34.99 or higher. To me, it is more rounded, sweeter and a bit more oaky than WT101. WT101 ($21.99 by me) has a youthful funk note that a don't much care for. RR SB is my favorite out of the bunch, but is double the price of the 10 year old. Been a long time since I had the WT KS, but I remember that being really good too. On the cheap end, I think I prefer the 101 rye to the 101 bourbon. I get less funk, and I don't get the harsh whiskey cough that the 101 bourbon gives me. The Early Times BIB has become my favorite cheap bourbon but has become impossible to find near me as well. I did find a bottle last week but had to pay $11 over standard retail for it.

The Russell's 10 I had was excellent - wiped the floor with 101. I guess there are bad bottles somehow. I cannot imagine Jimmy and Eddie Russell putting out a bad product.

100% agree. Russell's 10 is worlds above 101. I recently bought one of each and the difference is night and day.

My WT journey goes like this. Rare Breed was my first, I was impressed, but I wanted something cheaper and more available. Enter Russell's 10, mine is delicious, this sparked my curiosity and I was like...I need this as a daily but rRussells is just a little high $ and a little too scarce for a daily. Enter 101.....I stopped here, it ticks all the boxes for me, I guess I'm a WT guy

Definitely need to get a case of early times. We don't get that in Fl at all.Rare Breed is a good value and I agreed that I thought Rare Breed would be 2. Today Russel's Reserve 13 year is out lol.

I have several Wild Turkey products but I just am not a fan of the WT 101 for some reason. I like Rare Breed more. Honestly, I thought WT 101 was going to win bcuz you've raved about in many of ur videos. I guess I was wrong again. I did enjoy watching this video.

I think most Russell's Reserve Single Barrel bottles will out compete the Rare Breed, but it costs 15 to 20 dollars above, so, I understand most people will just stop at the Rare Breed for special occasions and use the Wild Turkey 101 as their all around daily bourbon. I have never seen the Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit in my area, so, I can't give any opinion on that bottle. On occasion, the Wild Turkey 81 will go on sale below 13 bucks, so, that one will not be the best, but it's good enough for entry level whiskey drinkers, and good enough for mixing.

WT 101 was my first WT product. I currently have R 10 year. I do enjoy it, but I'm anxious to try something else they offer if the others are showing to be better. The Rare Breed is probably going to be my next WT purchase.

I'm torn between my bottle of Russell's single barrel and Wild Turkey Single barrel. The wild turkey single barrel is so smooth and buttery, but that Russell's has higher proof and more complex flavors

I hear the words Rare Breed and I’m ready for a drink... I’m ready to try a Russell’s Reserve store pick though.

Well at 7 months after posted I agree. Just got bottle Russell 10. Good to polish your shies with that's it.

I know its not considered the best by experts but I love Russells 10 the best of all of them so I must have got some good bottles, I just wish the proof was a bit higher. Many rate these as russells sb>rare breed>kentucky spirtit>russels 10> 101. I find WildTurkey a bit too sweet in general though.

Interesting. I'm gonna have to try my luck with the russels single barrel. I've tried russels 10 year and the one I had, had this bitter funk to it. I do have another bottle unopened though. Also never seen a WT kentucky spirit here in Georgia.

Try to get a store pick. At least that way someone has tasted it and chosen it as good. That said, I’ve never had a RR SiB that I didn’t really enjoy.

Rare Breed is my favorite, but have the rest for change of pace.

Russell's Single Barrel and wild turkey Rare Breed, those are the only ones you need for the price

youre right about the russell 10. my least favorite WT. you would think a 10 year would have more body but since its at 90 proof, the watering down makes it taste flat.

Nice Turkey Shoot! Wondering if your Russell’s is spoiled? Both my bottles taste like Smooth Rare Breed which is my favorite of these.

Purchased my first Russell's 10 and I'd say it's good but not great. I wish the proof was higher, but it is an easy sipper at 90. I got a deal finding it for $30 since it goes for $42 in my area. I don't think I'd buy again for more than $35.

I agree with your final order, in a blind, rare breed can be a bit of a one note wrecking ball type experience. A good KS can easily beat it. Great video! I might try these blind again myself.

101 is ... was my favorite until yesterday. Walked into my local bottle shop to purchase my usual bottle of Wild Turkey 101 and the price had jumped to a staggering $35 ! That was basically a 33% jump in two weeks ! I don't know the ins and outs of the whiskey market but this a ridiculous. Don't know if I should blame Biden, the new bourbon fan boys or what but I can't justify a $35 purchase of 101
