had a 1999,2001,2017 rams 1500s and loved them all....beautiful looking trucks
I have a video of me hauling 7,500 lbs of hay on a 4000 lb trailer up a muddy dirt road with a 25% grade with the 2500 gas powered Rebel. This truck is a beast. The 6.4 Hemi mated with the ZF8 transmission is a bullet proof combination.
I really like this truck , great job . If I could afford a new truck , this is definitely the best one for the money.
Solid review as always. Thank you.
We need a shoot out with Godzilla Tremor vs 6.4 Rebel!
Thank you for showing the GVWR. So important and I thought I was one of the only ones to discuss this as opposed to many who just talk about that advertised BIG NUMBER
Good morning Steve and everyone at Truck King!! Awesome video... Enjoy the weekend!!
Solid review, solid channel as always!
Love the Calabogie area. Our offroad club makes a couple of trips every summer in the area. I spent a couple days with some offroaders from Ottawa clearing downed timber after the Derecho in May. What a mess!
That two inch lift on the PW really gives it a nice look though. I think Ram should do a PW "appearance" package on the HD's. Keep the normal 2500 payload, but keep the look. A normal truck still has plenty of off-road worthiness for the typical buyer who is spending $70k plus for a new truck, meaning they really are not off-roading it too much. Then you could have your diesel, a much more useable payload and the rugged look, which I think is the real reason these niche trucks sell.

Nice looking truck in black. I really like the rear coil spring suspension.
GREAT JOB GUYS 👏👏👏 LOVED TK POWERSPORTS &RVs CHANNEL This morning also....HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
Buy a regular Ram 2500 and put a Carli suspension package on it. It will be twice the ride and you will still be able to tow normal since you won’t lose payload like this truck!
I said this on another channel.. This truck was a half a** attempt to give people what they wanted. All the trucks will be getting the electronics updates too. What I'm bothered with, is the sheer ignorance on the specific requests from customers. What were those requests? More towing capacity, bigger tires, keepig the disconnecting sway bar, and a damn winch. All you are getting is less towing with a diesel, no disconnecting sway bar, still no winch because they didn't listen, and waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy less towing capacity and payload. I'm not even going into the the stupid 20" wheels. They literally warlocked the new 2500 for some extra money. Maybe I'm missing a lot on the suspension and stuff but damn, couldn't you just get a new base model with the off road package if you wanted a locking rear diff?

To preface that, I know that they couldn't put a winch there because of the intercooler. If that was the case then why even attempt to make this truck at all. It just seems like Ram wanted to make more money by rebadging a truck that has less capability but covering it up with new tech. I own a RAM and I'm disappointed with them for this.
I recently bought a Ram HD w/ 4x4 and a limited slip rear diff and it's handled moderate mud pretty well, even with street tires (which are going to get changed). Still very cautious around deep mud and a diesel.
Love the look of the Rebel.
I love the look. With the price of diesel, the lower numbers on tow/haul numbers and having that winch I wouldn't think twice on not getting the gas. Rumor has it Ram has the in-between Rebel - TRX
Rear and front lockers its a must for this HD trucks !
Great video as always fellas. This is my new dream truck. Do you know if it's possible to mount a snowplow on the Hemi version? A salesman told me the Power Wagon wasn't able to accommodate a plow. Keep up the great work!
Great review guys! Personally I would buy this truck with the Hemi to get the most payload.

I have a 2022 2500 with the 6.4, it's a beast and I like it way better than the 6.7s I've had.
Awesome reviews guys
Calbogie has so many trails up there. That's where I typically wheel. I just realized you're on the darling line. Super cool. Give me a shout the next time you're out this way
Hi, great review and comparison with the previous model. Excellent to appreciate options, as people have different taste, even if from a rational point of view... So go figure! Love options too. I agree with tall mirror advantage. Kinda like the previous model dashboard set up 🤩 it fits the Power wagon 🤓😂 heavy duty look... They should make the digital look more HD with cinematic animation 😂😂😂 my preference if i have to have a tech display for my info. PW floor being a beefed up Jeep. That's why the Rebel is awesome work lots of advantage, Cummins s a legend... But doesn't have a sawybar 🤩
I have a 2019 Power Wagon. I am an off roader, but not in the true sense. As a rancher in Montana, you have to have a vehicle that can tow and have the capability to do that over any kind of terrain. This truck can haul 10,000 lbs across just about any terrain. When you put it in 4 low and lock the front and rear axles, you’re basically towing with a tractor. It’s never let me down. I like the Rebel for the greater payload and towing. Based on my experience with the Power Wagon, I will probably get the Rebel and have the best of both worlds.
All the new electronics are cool but eventually (unlike older vehicles) they will break or just plain wear out. Some of them will make it an expensive paper weight 25 or 30 years down the road. This is across the whole industry. I still think less is more. Pretty sure Steve’s dad would agree.

A lot of this stuff has been out for a decade or more now, it's just updated. Sure there are fancy new things but overall there has been lots of time to hash out issues. Most of what you hear wearing out is the normal stuff, shocks, struts, bearings etc. The electronics that don't get much abuse lasts a long time. Obviously things go south but overall it's not like the tech from 10 years ago or more when a lot of this stuff was new. I have a friend who works as a tech with Ram and used to work on Ford's and has been a tech for close to 37 years, he says the same thing. Most of the vehicles come in for the normal wear and rear parts needing replacement/repair. It just seems like today's vehicles aren't lasting as long because, one there are way more on the road today, two social media help spread bs lol, three people think mass production is crap when In fact those machines make far less errors than hand built machines, it just seems the opposite because of the higher volume.

@@UvidCo that’s for now. How many computers you owned for 20 years, how long was it before you couldn’t update it. Or your last couple phones? There is also the chip shortage. You think a shortage of chips would or a couple going out would effect a 68 Chevy? I guess time will tell.

@@fritty9927 The rate at which vehicle tech need updates is probably 1% as to computers and especially phones. As I said the tech in vehicles have for the most part been around for a decade or longer. Just look at backup cameras, backup sensors, tire pressure sensors etc they've been around a long time now. The tech within them justs changes but overall it's similar. But as you said, time will tell.

Beautiful truck. Well done Ram
The thing I noticed you told people if they want a tow to go to the diesel engine on this off-road truck I’m in the towing industry and that’s pretty bad advice. The payload is so pathetic you could hardly tow anything.
Great video, I’m thinking about getting a truck soon and I really like this one I’ll have to test drive one , I’m also thinking about getting a new trailer to travel around the states and I need one to handle the towing

Ranchers use hd diesel trucks off-road all the time. Usually pulling a 24 for gooseneck horse trailer. They also do it in a tradesman with 4x4
I love the channel however i do not agree that power wagon owners were and are begging for a diesel. That was just troll haters hating on the off road capable power wagon. Diesel makes trucks less off road capable NOT more. Those who know know. My P.W. is a 2015 AEV. My dream truck since 1977. Tows my 25' toy hauler off road. Only time i would buy a diesel is if i wanted a very big R.V. and most camp grounds have size limits. The thing about diesel was the cheap fuel cost. Not any more. P.S. Before Jeep in 1941 and WW2 Dodge was making H.D. 4x4 trucks for the U.S. Army since 1934. Before that 1916 Dodge car. Later supplying other countries army's with 4x4 full size trucks. Chrysler supplied all full size trucks Ford and G.M. not just Dodge trucks with transfer cases making those brands 4x4. Chrysler owned New Process gear. Which also can be found in jeeps.
That's a very nice looking RAM REBEL! I would go with the 6.4 L Gas, just because of the towing and load ratings, and I have owned 5 RAM/Dodge Diesel's over the years!

Hello, this 2500 rebel is not available yet in Saskatchewan
10:35 nail on the head. I do believe this version of the 2500 is more suitable for the average Power Wagon owner.
I need a daily driver, tows for 5-10 trips a year, hauls occasionally in the bed and has decent offroad demeanor for our remote camping trip. I think the rebel is overkill for my offroad, but my real deilema in a few years when Im ready to upgrade to a 2500 from a 1500 is diesel vs gas. Diesel is my preference for towing, but I worry about the issues with short trips and the emissions equipment having issues.
No winch on diesel because of the oil cooler. No locking front diff. And no disconnect sway bar are pretty big game changers! Kinda a big deal! Those are the 3 things we want on the cummins! Ram figure it out!
The Ram Heavy Duty Rebel Is A Must Off-Road Worthy. You Wouldn't Be Heavy Duty Off-Roading All The Time 🇺🇸.
It time for a new ram HD soon hopefully they need new engines and transmission And a new cab
I like that truck king pullover
Love that this new rebel comes with the Cummins. Everything looks great besides the mirrors. I am not a fan of the new “tow” mirrors
Idk why they didn’t just make the mirrors power fold up.
An LSD that can lock on command is pure genius. I am baffled with why the other companies haven't done that yet. If I were the Jim Farley over at Ford this would be an optional up charge on lower trims and standard on upper trims.
Beautiful truck, though I'm weary how those digital clusters are gonna age. would be a shame if your speedometer was laggy in 7 years because no updates, or if one thing on the display fails the whole thing goes vs just losing one gauge or burnt out bulb. Hopefully I'm wrong and they last a long time and work well for decades.
Nice truck are there any in Ontario for sale now? Or at a leader?
Gorgeous screen but I love my 2020 analog gauges
At 1:32 - the gas tows more than the diesel?
I will admit to being extremely sceptical about the reliability of American vehicles in general, and any fiat-Dodge-Stellantis product in particular, and yet, in complete contradiction, a Cummins Ram has always been my Canada-available dream truck. Nevertheless, the frequency of failure on pickups (breakdown and recalls) in general seems completely insane to me. There was a time when the trade-off was that they were affordable and fixable by almost anyone. Now they are impossibly expensive, impossibly complex. A Landcruiser costs as much as a house, but will also last as long as a house. Not high tech, high quality. A vehicle to drive where a breakdown will kill you, like the Outback, where those things make up 90% of the vehicles. The weird thing is, a breakdown in the Canadian winter can kill you just as dead. Sorry for the rambling. Maybe it's just truck envy. Cheers.
Which company is going to have the first " Tow Drone" that follows you around?
Side mirrors are smaller for off road Ram trucks. Large mirrors get hung up on brush and tree limbs.
When will they update the cab? Seriously it’s over due
With a carli suspension kit you can easily go off road with these. If you want to go off road with a half ton truck get a power wagon
I really hope you can get one wi 17 or 18 inch wheels. I am so sick of 20s.
❤it. Ram offer a much needed 10sp transmission!
Show me a stock 1/2 ton anywhere that compares to the power wagon?
I’ve been waiting for RAM to update their website here in Canada. Absolutely brutal. I currently have a 2019 2500 Cummins. I’m interested in this truck. But I want to know if you can get it with the plow prep package. I haven’t heard anything. I’m even considering the 6.4 this time around.

in Oz and other areas with yonks of Woop-Woop (a crap ton of nowhere land,) the diesel is a much better option, as it has a longer range and better fuel economy, which means not getting stranded.

At least RAM fixed their side mirrors. Not a fan of RAM trucks in general but this is a cool truck. That payload is pretty low though for a 3/4 ton truck. My '21 F150 has almost 1700 lbs of payload with a ton of extras and electronics.

a rebel 2500 IS a power wagon. only lacking features is axle disconect and front locker. zero other changes except the badge. i own all 3 so when anyone wants to argue this....buy the rebel go title it and see what your title comes back saying it is....proudly made in mexico also if you didnt look inside that driver door yet
Send one to me in Australia please
For some reason manufacturers are making the bodies look flat and bigger making the tires look too small. Most trucks now need 35" tires to look any good
Power Wagon !!!
Gasser has okay numbers. Diesel payload is just sad...less than my F150 and I don't even have max payload.
I think that I would buy a Tremor on 35's over this...
Man my 1/2 ton Ford has a better payload than that!!! What a shame. 😢
looking forward the midsize ram turck. hope they get a midsize verison TRX.
If ram hadn’t gone nuts and jacked up their prices as much as they did, I would not have gone with a Tremor. Def many more options in the Tremor for a lower price compared to the rebel with the Godzilla.
I'm not buying the diesel Power Wagon thing. Why wouldn't you offer a Power Wagon diesel without a winch then? It would sell like hot cakes.
I’m a bit confused as to why the specs are so much lower on the Rebel HD than they are on the regular 2500. I understand that the extra equipment adds weight, but you have to understand that the 1500 Rebel’s capabilities are almost identical to the other 1500s. I also don’t understand why the diesel has such low payload compared to the gas. I know that a diesel engine weighs more than a gasoline engine, but 1400 pounds lower? There’s no way the motor and transmissions weigh that much more than the gasser. And why is the towing capacity lower on the diesel? If anything, it should be quite a bit higher than the gasser.
The tremor seems to destroy this HD ram with towing and payload alone...
You can even make the RAM glow, have yellow light, red light, or white light, you can choose.😎😎
Throw a Carli Pintop kit on it
yeah Dodge took a good appreach giving customer OPTIONS of choise this or that doesnt hurt nether one - safe play Dodge
It boggles my mind that the idiots at Ram can’t figure out a way to put a winch in the bumper on the diesel. Ford and Chebby figured it out.
I understand the diesel engine reduces the weight carrying capacity, but why don't they compensate for it with heavier suspension, so it's not a pansy Mobile?
Obviously nice truck, just way out of price range. If it's really meant for trades/mining/oil etc, the price isn't reflected in that, most of them (unless they're management) just want a very capable work truck.
I was excited when I heard about this being released. Pretty disappointed to hear about the payload number. Why bother buying a heavy duty truck that can only carry 1600 pounds of payload. I believe powerwagons have only 200 lbs less.
@ALMX5DP

Well the PW would have been 6.4 only, so decent that the much heavier Cummins still has more payload.
