How good is Cupra's NEXT electric car? - Tavascan Review UK

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Based on the MEB platform shared with the likes of the ID5 and Enyaq Coupè, Cupra have revealed the Tavascan. An electric family car with over 350 miles and punchy performance BUT at £47,300 is there better cars in this category?

Great review. I agree with Tish in that some aspects of the cars design are outdated. The overuse of haptic buttons is a turn off. The overall design of the Tavascan is attractive. The pricing structure may be a problem though. Basic items like heated seats shouldn’t be an add on.

I don’t know, my Peugeot E-2008 is quite a different car to a Vauxhall Mokka E which I’ve also driven, in terms of both appearance and driving dynamics. I imagine if you compared say a Citroen E-C4 with the new Alfa Romeo Junior that would be even more radically different. All share the same basic platform as do Cupra & Volkswagen in this instance.

.... but they have to drop the copper accents ( I know that it sounds sorta familiar ... Cupra - copper ... however, the copper is not much of a metal ... and the vibe is rather sad). Also, normal door handles would be a decent & positive step back ( and forward - overall ). Exactly like the buttons on the steering wheel. Finally, a bit of psychology: sharp angles are not always projecting masculinity ... but ... mostly ... are iritating the eye (exactly like the sharp angles of the sewing model of the handbag Miu Miu Wander matelassé). Their successful model ... Leon .... has enough masculinity with rather curved lines (my fav being the first generation ... which had enough charisma in it - that it also served well its epigone, Mazda 3 Hatch ... ) ... and ... also ... over 2 millions units sold. 😉
